  • does it have an organ sound?

  • why don't have half step down .

  • It would even be more appreciated if it were branded "SQUIER", for beginners.

  • Greg Koch?! My dad knows that guy personally. He's really, uproariously funny. I wish they had him talking instead of the other guy... I think that was him narrarating at the very begining of the video though....

  • What's the name of the song at 1:27? Or is it just something made up for the video?

  • not bad but il take my ibanez guitars

  • half step down tuning drop d and drop c.....and i would buy it!

  • @billyfreeka ye

  • Now make a bass. P-J configuration with a roland pickup. P body, J neck. with standard E Standard F Drop D, 1/2 step down, full step down, and 8 string tunings. tone options: P, J , Jaguar, Mustang, Humbucker (gibson thunderbird style), and acoustic. It would be so good and i would buy it as soon as it came out.

  • stupid

  • i really want this guitar, but im not to crazy about the 4 AAs. i think it should run on 1 9 volt to make it alot easier. i think another cool thing they couldve added would be a floyd rose locking tremolo bridge

  • the whole point of this guitar (compared to a normal stratocaster) is that it can jump between different tunings with the flick of a switch. if you play in a band, you don't not have time to re-tune between every song and bringing 5 guitars on stage in a small club is almost impossible, especially if you're in a band with 2 guitar players.

  • They should have let Greg do the talking on this too. The other guy is weak, he reminds me of Paul Jr. for american chopper.

  • Ever heard a guy asking to another guy with a 6 string guitar ''Hey man, whats your tuning?''

Where the guy answers ''I'm in 12 string tuning''

Now you can because the vg strat.

  • I have the same one being demonstrated. Is there a guitar more versatile? I walked into the music store prepared to buy a Les Paul. This is what I left the store with. It's a fantastic guitar with more tonal variations than anything I've ever played. It's good looking too. The wood grain on mine is stunning.

  • This host is so high.

  • @ledzepzoso3 They're not, but they sure were nice when they started getting placed in Statocasters, and Telecasters as well.

  • dude greg koch looks like he lost 40 lbs good for him

  • forward to 4:10 to start learning something about the guitar.

  • I want Greg Koch!!!!

  • so... like WHY do you need a designated knob do recreate a strat sound ON a strat?

  • @PwnYouAtSoccer It eliminates the hum produced from the singlecoils.

  • @PwnYouAtSoccer its a different strat, i cant remember whether it was an ash or alder

  • I'm a proud owner!

  • guitar, tone and playing fail!! the whole vid, damn

  • god stop the crappy funk back round music I just want to listen to the damn VG strat

  • 5:24

    what an awful solo.

  • man i wish i could buy one and i can aford it but i cant find a shop wich offer him

  • where the hell can you buy this now they are all discontinued

  • @posiedonpowertrio

They discontinued it for a reason. It's shitty in person.

  • way too much verbage, show the features

  • this guitar is taking out of production why?

  • @guitarherofreak161 no one bought it

  • this is a message to every commenter. why do you have to be so negative about everything? i'm saying this because i've never heard anything positive about this guitar.

  • .... Has anyone else noticed that this "innovation" is just a copy of the Gibson Robot? Like srsly... wtf ppl

  • @rimshotrulz -this was out before that, wtf you!

  • @chadewatson shhhhh.... hush you :P

  • @rimshotrulz not really, the Robot only tunes your guitar automatically. This has a built in synth also several tuning options, so this is pretty much a Robot but more.

  • @Kleenx98 It does the same thing as a robot, just in different ways. i know it has an acoustic setting and all that but this is in essence the same thing.

  • i didn't know will ferrell could play =)

  • @bakelyo -didnt you ever watch stranger than fiction? ;)

  • i want to slap the guy who plays the guitar!

  • You should 'dropped' the drop D because it incredibly easily to tune, and replaced it with something like half step tuning

  • @TheChocorooms drop D is NOT so easy on a full floating trem...

  • @GuruzGT Some floating tremolos have 'D tunas' that do it automatically. But on this strat it's doesn't even have a floating trem.

  • @TheChocorooms d-tunas are not for FULL floating trems. it means they work only on lower pitch only trems. U must block your tremolo in order to install the D-tuna.

  • @GuruzGT Oh, gotcha

  • i bet the guys in the studio were cracking up when the announcer was recording...=P i like the old timey vibe

  • This guitar was a major failure

  • I'd like to see someone do a cover of "Stairway to Heaven" with that guitar.

  • Why the hell would one put Drop D in the tuning knob LOL, you just loosen your thick E string to match your D string. Lol

  • The problem with this video is that you have no idea what the hell this guitar does different until you're almost halfway through.

  • @ledzepzoso3 it was an innovation for fender

  • good guitar but Jedarama is right why not 1/2 step down?

  • I have this guitar and PLEASE STOP HATEN THIS GUITAR, it is very much worth its money and all the sounds sound GREAT. Its more for like rock and classic stuff, eventhough it has baritone tuning its not really a metal guitar.

  • how it's cost pizze?

  • wat tunning is baratone?

  • @michaelgroenewald7 b standard

  • I have one and it is very useful. My only gripes about this guitar in the synth mode are 1) it's a battery hog, 2) the volume knob has been moved up a bit and it's too loose. So it's easily bumped when you don't want it to be. If they had added an extra dropped 1/2 tone mode it would have covered about everything. For a gigging it is great.

  • It looks beastly. I particularly like the 12 string option.

But i wouldnt buy it. its a cool toy but thats all it is.

also, Eb would have been a better choice than drop D

  • They just need a mexican version.

  • they have one now

  • there is one

  • Fender is a great company, but I have to say, no wonder whys this is discontinued, for a toy it's cool, to be a pro, IT SUCKS !!

  • Overoath123 why would there be a vg telecaster if the vg stratocaster has telecaster pickups

  • i think that would be a good idea

  • @fendercuber dfferent body offers way different tone and sounds. no matter how high the technology is. the basics are not to be questioned. it's not just the pickups and technologies varies the tone and sound. but also the body.

besides that, some people think the tele are better looking than the strat.

  • Does this guitar have any presets?

  • VG...I have a black w/rosewood and it rocks!!! Awesome guitar! Sounds great and has so many different tonal options.

    VG rocks!

  • yes its clever,

    but you wouldnt love it,

    electrics take away the soul.

floor boards are the way to go.

  • I have owned this for about 1 year .I really do not like it now , It is a good idea but poorly done . The batteries life is very low , the new Gibson comes with 2 rechargeable packs .Most tunings are useless ,Eb would have been an obvious option. Hard to change settings in live performance

  • I hate it when people play guitar and make dumbass expressions. That guy needs a beating.

  • get a gibson

  • @rocker100991 and spend alot more? No thanks. I'll just sick to REGULAR Strats.

  • is there gonna be a vg tele?

  • Comment removed

  • im gonna take a guess and say you are a large fan of rosewood fretboards lol :)

  • vintage hot rod 62, well, thats what i would go with. I had that same problem, but i went to a fender dealer and they let me try as many guitars as i wanted, and i felt that the vintage hot rod 62 felt better, sounded better and it fit my personality better, but its your opinion m8

  • I ended up going with a Deluxe Strat HSS. I love it.

  • I played one back when it came out. The tuning gadget is a cool feature, but the loss of quality was too much for me. Not there yet i'm afraid. The modeling settings are successful depending on the placebo effect. Doesnt sound like a tele, the humbucker was more like dropping the tone control and combining the bridge and middle, AND the acoustic was the worst of all. SOunds nothing like one. Was more like putting a capacitor on the volume control to erase any mid and low tone.

  • Cool guitar!

I hate the face of that guy - 5:56

  • I would buy one of these if it offered tuning 1/2 step down. Why didn't they include this tuning? It's more common than all of the other non-standard tunings.

  • Agreed! Hendrix, SRV, Gallagher - there is (was) a whole bunch of artists using heavy strings and downtuning for a heavier, meatier sound. A 12 step down would be a logical addition, however, the modelled sound would clash with the actual sound of the strings you're strumming (hearing the actual strings ring in standard and a 1/2 down coming from the amp)... makes playing really weird (I tried it with a DigiTech Whammy and a Boss Pitch Shifter, both of which I used to own).

  • @jedarama I'm pretty sure it does

  • @jedarama the tuning setting d is half step down

  • @kingnichendrix -i accidently hit like, i meant to hit reply, but d is whole step, not half. Eb is half

  • @chadewatson i so another review and it said there was eb

  • @jedarama so your not buying a product because your too lazy to tune down a half step...

  • @MrElfro89 I play in a cover band that does some songs in standard tuning and some songs tuned 1/2 step down (as well as other tunings). Of course I can re-tune, but that takes time and you don't want to keep everyone waiting while you re-tune---especially when playing live. Laziness has nothing to do with it.

  • @jedarama Play 2 different guitars dip shit!

  • @bbnatedogg the whole point of this guitar (compared to a normal stratocaster) is that it can jump between different tunings with the flick of a switch. if you play in a band, you don't have time to re-tune between every song and bringing 5 guitars on stage in a small club is almost impossible, especially if you're in a band with 2 guitar players.

  • @jedarama what about drop-d?

  • @jedarama tune it yourself 1/2 down damn

  • @jedarama your right

  • @jedarama yea i agree i wish this or the gibson robot guitar did that.

  • Excellent!

  • what kind of amp is he using?

  • Fender super sonic head and super sonic 2x12 cab.

  • thanks

  • sehr gut

  • just ordered one, still waitin for it to be delivered

  • i have one and its the best axe ever

  • i need that guitar.

  • lame comment

  • it's a combination. think Fender supplies the original through the pickups, then roland alters it a bit (except in acoustic mode, you just have 5 different acoustics in one)

PS. GET ONE NOW! its the greatest deal ive ever gotten and its discontinued!
