Greg Koch?! My dad knows that guy personally. He's really, uproariously funny. I wish they had him talking instead of the other guy... I think that was him narrarating at the very begining of the video though....
Now make a bass. P-J configuration with a roland pickup. P body, J neck. with standard E Standard F Drop D, 1/2 step down, full step down, and 8 string tunings. tone options: P, J , Jaguar, Mustang, Humbucker (gibson thunderbird style), and acoustic. It would be so good and i would buy it as soon as it came out.
i really want this guitar, but im not to crazy about the 4 AAs. i think it should run on 1 9 volt to make it alot easier. i think another cool thing they couldve added would be a floyd rose locking tremolo bridge
the whole point of this guitar (compared to a normal stratocaster) is that it can jump between different tunings with the flick of a switch. if you play in a band, you don't not have time to re-tune between every song and bringing 5 guitars on stage in a small club is almost impossible, especially if you're in a band with 2 guitar players.
I have the same one being demonstrated. Is there a guitar more versatile? I walked into the music store prepared to buy a Les Paul. This is what I left the store with. It's a fantastic guitar with more tonal variations than anything I've ever played. It's good looking too. The wood grain on mine is stunning.
this is a message to every commenter. why do you have to be so negative about everything? i'm saying this because i've never heard anything positive about this guitar.
@rimshotrulz not really, the Robot only tunes your guitar automatically. This has a built in synth also several tuning options, so this is pretty much a Robot but more.
@Kleenx98 It does the same thing as a robot, just in different ways. i know it has an acoustic setting and all that but this is in essence the same thing.
"I would buy one of these if it offered tuning 1/2 step down. Why didn't they include this tuning? It's more common than all of the other non-standard tunings."
One of the big things advertised about the guitar is that YOU can create your own tunings using the software that comes with it. That's how it does dropped-D or the open G and D tunings.
@TheChocorooms d-tunas are not for FULL floating trems. it means they work only on lower pitch only trems. U must block your tremolo in order to install the D-tuna.
I have this guitar and PLEASE STOP HATEN THIS GUITAR, it is very much worth its money and all the sounds sound GREAT. Its more for like rock and classic stuff, eventhough it has baritone tuning its not really a metal guitar.
I have one and it is very useful. My only gripes about this guitar in the synth mode are 1) it's a battery hog, 2) the volume knob has been moved up a bit and it's too loose. So it's easily bumped when you don't want it to be. If they had added an extra dropped 1/2 tone mode it would have covered about everything. For a gigging it is great.
@fendercuber dfferent body offers way different tone and sounds. no matter how high the technology is. the basics are not to be questioned. it's not just the pickups and technologies varies the tone and sound. but also the body.
besides that, some people think the tele are better looking than the strat.
I have owned this for about 1 year .I really do not like it now , It is a good idea but poorly done . The batteries life is very low , the new Gibson comes with 2 rechargeable packs .Most tunings are useless ,Eb would have been an obvious option. Hard to change settings in live performance
vintage hot rod 62, well, thats what i would go with. I had that same problem, but i went to a fender dealer and they let me try as many guitars as i wanted, and i felt that the vintage hot rod 62 felt better, sounded better and it fit my personality better, but its your opinion m8
I played one back when it came out. The tuning gadget is a cool feature, but the loss of quality was too much for me. Not there yet i'm afraid. The modeling settings are successful depending on the placebo effect. Doesnt sound like a tele, the humbucker was more like dropping the tone control and combining the bridge and middle, AND the acoustic was the worst of all. SOunds nothing like one. Was more like putting a capacitor on the volume control to erase any mid and low tone.
I would buy one of these if it offered tuning 1/2 step down. Why didn't they include this tuning? It's more common than all of the other non-standard tunings.
Agreed! Hendrix, SRV, Gallagher - there is (was) a whole bunch of artists using heavy strings and downtuning for a heavier, meatier sound. A 12 step down would be a logical addition, however, the modelled sound would clash with the actual sound of the strings you're strumming (hearing the actual strings ring in standard and a 1/2 down coming from the amp)... makes playing really weird (I tried it with a DigiTech Whammy and a Boss Pitch Shifter, both of which I used to own).
@MrElfro89 I play in a cover band that does some songs in standard tuning and some songs tuned 1/2 step down (as well as other tunings). Of course I can re-tune, but that takes time and you don't want to keep everyone waiting while you re-tune---especially when playing live. Laziness has nothing to do with it.
@bbnatedogg the whole point of this guitar (compared to a normal stratocaster) is that it can jump between different tunings with the flick of a switch. if you play in a band, you don't have time to re-tune between every song and bringing 5 guitars on stage in a small club is almost impossible, especially if you're in a band with 2 guitar players.

Where the guy answers ''I'm in 12 string tuning''
Now you can because the vg strat.

You should 'dropped' the drop D because it incredibly easily to tune, and replaced it with something like half step tuning
