  • None better.

  • classic xx

  • classic xx

  • Was that Jon Lord too at the end?

  • @Gleuethunder At the keyboards here is the great David Rosenthal

  • he is the father of mallsteen

  • awesome even though this is cut!

    the original is 11min long!

  • Yeah, I was more just focusing on the solo as opposed to the whole song. It is awesome all the way through though!

  • nice!

  • ritchie is the best.

and this song is the best instrumental in the world!!!

  • blackmore is the best, no discusion

  • 2:56 Scalloped frets??? This is pre Malmsteen, ha said he got the idea from a lute, but he was also up Blackmoore's ass so what to believe?

  • @chrisdivinechaos: What do you think, except of the black pups, the Malmsteen's guitars are almost identical to Blackmore's, and Malmsteen plays/played at least 10 Blackmore songs! ;-) By the way, Blackmore had scalloped frets since he switched to Strats, and that's 15 years before this video!

  • ritchie the best

  • Beethoven couldn't have played it better!

  • Fuck you man, Ritchie is the motherfucking master, but Beethoven is Beethoven

  • I can't believe Chuck Burgi and David Rosenthal are now playing with Billy Joel !!!

  • I agree!

  • @purpledude603: Really? That's kind of funny!

  • best guitar player on the world

    I MEANT IT

Long live to the God!

  • Malmsteen is a noob compared to Ritchie.

  • what? Please, NO comparisions. Malmsteen rulez too and too heavy like the good Blackmore

  • RITCHIE BLACKMORE IS BEST !!!

  • it's ritchie blackmore. what else can I say? the man is BRILLIANT.

  • 0:40 : great "male-cameltoe"! awesome panties, ritchie!

  • nice cameltoe!

  • GOOD!!!

  • SEX!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Ritchie is the man!

  • watch awesome tibetan guitarist (from switzerland?!), he will blow you away! just look for "purtag" (his name)

  • why are you keep posting this comment on every video.btw i heard a unsigned band called blue riverfall from us or uk.the guitarist was a master and the drummer is the next best drummer in the world.this band will sure blow stupid purtag away

  • he was ok

    Not as good as blackmore

    But pretty good

  • el puto amo

  • watch awesome tibetan guitarist (from switzerland?!), he will blow you away! just look for "purtag" (his name)

  • BEST BEST IS RITCHIE

  • Diosss el mejor grupo que pudo hacer Richie Blckmore junto con Deep Purple por siempre RAINBOW!!!

  • Q temazooooo!!!! VIVA RAINBOW!!!

  • Sounds like he's using an MXR Blue Box on this

  • Ritchie's influence has been unquestionably essential for rock/metal!

  • Ritchie is an unbelievable guitarist!he is on e of the best ever been. For me,he is simply the king of the guitar along with yngwie

  • difficult to cure him of being so pretentious

enough already with the beethoven- we get it you listened to some classical music

  • you are an ignorant

  • unbelievable!

probably the best Rainbow line up ever

Ritchie blows out of the water many other contemporary

guitar players at this time (80's)

and he is still the best today!

    What a talent!

    Long Live Rock'n Roll

  • Difficult to Cure motherfuckers!!

  • great song....remember ramones...

  • blackmore=god

  • @moosemagazine: total agree

by the way ritchie kicks them ass anyway...i don't know how many of you have seen it, but the wring that neck footage 1969 shows some hyperspeed sweep picking of ritchie (1969!!)

  • i love you ritchie blackmore ....guitar king!!!

    the best.

  • In my opinion, ritchie blackmore is the best, but most people today only care about what's the most hardcore. personally, I think it's what seperates *random noises* from Music. I'm sick of those mindless shredders, often sweepers. for example: Dragonforce, I never understood why EVERY MOMENT OF THROUGH THE FIRE AND FLAMES WAS A SHRED SOLO.(along with a bunch of their other songs.) oh, but with words. cant make money if it doesnt sound like we tried. MUSIC IS NOT A RACE! or maybe it is.

  • Ritchie is only the other guitarist after Hendrix or Jeff Beck. Mind you its still difficult to play Apache by Hank Marvin too.

Ritchie played it too.Hope you know what I mean. Oswald

  • yeah i know what you mean like you and i both enjoy music with melody!

  • Eddie Hazel too!

    Funkadelic's "Maggot Brain" is astounding

  • comparing zeppelin to deep purple, deep purple to zeppelin... both great bands, and anyone who takes pride in their music will NEVER change their mind about who's the best. You might come to a compromise with a close friend, but not strangers on youtube!

  • Great Ritchie!!!

    I love this one!!!

  • WHICH WAS THE YEAR?

  • 1984.3 Nippon Budokan in Japan

  • AWESOME !!!!!!

  • He uses an octave divider paired with a Phase shifter and a slight delay.

An Awesome sounding effect if you can get it clean enough!!

  • lol, at 3:20, thats a LOT of keyboards :P

  • Dude, that`s Richie...

  • Richie Blackmore=Best Guitarist Ever!

  • i can sure inderstand why he has ego

  • I've always loved this song. Difficult to Cure is a great record. Nice homage to Beethoven. Ritchie is the man in black. A true legendary guitarist.

  • That's because Deep Purple IS way better than Zeppelin. It's like comparing Dream Theater with U2.

  • FANTASTIC

  • Holy shit Ive never seen Ritchie headbang before!

  • richie is unreal on guitar

  • can ppl stop comparing?

its not how well you can play its how much feelin there is behind it.

  • And i think Blackmore is far better to this than anyone else... Rainbow (dio years) and deep purple is much better than the famous led zeppelin!

  • althrough led zeppelin are the best hard rock band but blackmore is a way better guitar player than page...but it's only my opinion :)

  • Nope, I can't be bothered..

  • It would be awesome to see a video without people comparing and competing.

  • Don't forget Johnny Ramone! He could play better than Blackmore.... he just chose not to.

  • WHAT???????

  • your a fucking dumbass

  • ARE YOU CRAZY MAN!!!

  • @bigham48

What drugs are you on dude....I want some if it can change your perception of reallity in such a way it must be really good sh!t....

  • Zepplin was let's say like an orgasam. Blackmore and Purple are like a mountain. Feels good climbing it and it will be there when ever you want to climb it for the thrill or get your inspiration from looking at it. Blackmore has a whole new gig now and it's very successful. What other famous" Rock " guitarists has changed their style that made them famous and are being successful ? Rock bands come and go. Talented musicians will remain relevant.

  • blackmore forever, the best;) rainbow kvelaze magari jgupia, blackmore kvelaze magari gitaristi;)(georgia)

  • Blackmore copying Malmsteen???? RB's been in show business longer than YM's been alive.

  • Blackmore copying Malmsteen...that comment just shows the wanker knows nothing about rock guitar. At his age of 62, Blackmore is still productive with his music. Different taste of course, but he still can pound and play as fast as ever if he wants to. On the contrary, Jimmy Page is now nothing but a fat diabetic slob with big puddy round face like a ripened pumpkin. The last album Page produced was just a total disaster.

  • Gladly, David Coverdale (former Purple member) took Page out of his non-existent solo career to record Coverdale/Page. Long live the best, and only active, classic Hard Rock band ever!!! Long live Deep Purple!!!

  • your opinion of Jimmy Page has absolutely nothing to do with Rainbow playing 'Difficult To Cure', so why bother, this shit fuckin pisses me right off!!

  • Purple is a cheap mans led zeppelin, page is above all but hendrix and clapton

  • Purple invented Hard Rock and fathered Heavy Metal. Plant never came near Gillan's soaring vocals: Gillan sang, Plant moaned. Page was never as good as Blackmore (the video here is pretty evident about that). Zep lives of their past glories, while Purple members are still active musicians full of projects. Zep? Janis Joplin could've sang there without you even noticing it. Purple was way better live than Zep: MADE IN JAPAN, BEST live album ever.

  • Led Zeppelin would still be playing,if Bonham didn't die. Both groups are legends, have respect to both.R.I.P. Bonham.

  • led zep is dead !

  • Interesting to here Blackmore, Lord and Paice all credit Led Zeppelin as THE prime influence when Deep Purple decided to start playing hard rock during '69 before recording 'In Rock'. You can say what you like about Zep (as idiotic as it is) but no-one can ever take away the fact that they were the pioneers of hard rock/heavy metal. Just ask Ritchie himself. And he got Gillan in cos he was so impressed the first time he heard Plant, he needed someone who could "scream like he could".

  • did you forget about alex lifeson van halen zakk wylde. i can go on. i mean hes good one the best indeed. but there is guys just as good, its certainly not clapton

  • Blackmore is not Clapton. Which is good for Ritchie, cause he's way more interesting. \m/

  • This is the Ultimate Classic Rock

  • Wow! Page licking his shoes? I think they both were at the top of their game.

  • Stunning! The 126st proof the Blackmore is the best!

Anybody knows where to get the full concert?

  • This is TOTALLY different than what Malmsteen did which was to write all original material strictly for an orchestra and play WITHOUT the band as a concerto soloist. Blackmoore and Roth were some of the firsts to work with an orchestra though, just in a different way.

  • in my opinion hes trying to copy Ynqwie Malmsteen with his classical music

  • You are fucking joking, aren't you - I think you'll find that Yngwie worships at the altar of Blackmore !

As should we all, the man is GOD.

  • Pretty obvious your trying to evoke a reaction from people...nobody is this stupid....Steve

  • How can he be copying Malmsteen if he has been around for more than a decade longer? you are basicaly ignorant of musical facts!you are a wanker!!!!

  • I'd suggest having a look at Malmsteen's tribute album to see who's tracks he covers. Also, ever wonder why Malmsteen uses a scalloped fretboard? Finally, have a look where most of Malmsteen's band members played before they joined Malmsteen. Till then stick your Zeppelin studio albums.

  • jimmy page can lick Blackmores shoes!

  • LONG LIVE BLACKMORE

  • LONG LIVE BLACKMORE!!!

    he is the best!!!

  • he was..before blakcmore's night.

  • Hehehe, he's totally kicking ass.

  • What year is this?

    Anyway, awesome video.

  • Im not sure about the year...Joe Lynn Turner on vocals....so if I guessed i'd say 82/83???? There wasnt much info on this tape when I bought it. STEVE

  • You don't have to be crazy to do stuff like this but it's help.

RB, the best mother-guitar fucker-player ever

  • he was only 38 here - a mere slip of a lad! i saw rainbow in 83 and they were fookin great! cant blame the man for mellowing in his 60s - most men his age are queueing up outside the post office!

  • i agree with wgs, ritchie he said he wouldn't go back to rock, just enjoy what he did ok!

  • RobinPillage, Ritchie is pushing 60! - When are you idiots going to realise that he doesn't wanna rock anymore. Get over it and quit fucking whining!

    Great vid, btw

  • Actually, since RB was born April 09, 1945, he's on the far side of 61 - but you're right, he put almost half a century in on the rock side, now he loves playing his Medieval music, and more power to him!

  • exactly let him do what he wants with candice night- he has earnt it. purple these days arent doing much more - in fact they arent deep purple the band died when blackmore left

  • My guess is that Candice Night had Ritchie ritually neutured. Yes Blackmore's Night has some very beautiful songs and Ritchie's guitar works are tastefully done. But it sure as hell ain't Deep Purple. Or for that matter even Rainbow. God I wish Blackmore would go back to what he does best. Heavy Rock. This video is incredible! Thanks.

  • This was on MTV this was the last rainbow concert 1983. This was a show in Japan. Deep Purple reformed a few months later

  • Let's see Jimmy Page try that! Eat your heart out Page.

  • Damn right!Ritchie rocks!Well,he did then....not now...cause....aw crap.

  • right there with ya on that one

  • That is something else! Always liked his neo-classical stuff, but that is just brilliant. What a combination there - Glover and Blackmore - absolutely cool as get out.

Attention all young buddding axe-men: this is how it should be done, now pay attention...

  • Always Love to see Blackmore in action, It would have been cool if he brought that symphony along with him in 76 when he did Stargazer.

  • Does anyone have the full length of this thing?

  • I do! Im not sure if your saying the whole song, or the whole concert, but I have both. Concert is b-/c quality. STEVE

  • He did this on the deep purple dvd 'come hell or high water', but the track was called beethoven. Totally awesome

  • Classy. Their last few albums may not have been up to their earlier standards, but they could always produce the goods in concert. Love the way Richie can fiddle with his buttons without ever losing the pace, and Roger's generic dress sense is about 12 months ahead of it's time. Damn good band, and a great video.

  • What a fuckin good guitarist! ritchie y'oure the best (after zappa)

  • pretty cool jack

  • awesome man...thks
