I am transported back in time ! What a beautiful Hymn and the chimes are simply great. I was looking for this veruson for ages. Every year on January 26, India celebrates its Republic Day and on the 29th, Beating the Retreat. The function ends with Abide With Me and the chimes always bring a lump in my throat. Thanks a lot.

Hm. I only came across this video since I was looking for the hymn---I'd heard rumors it was similar to a motif in Mahler's 9th, but I fail to see the similarity.

Now that I'm here however, I'm really impressed by the organ playing. The way the chimes were incorporated was pretty cool too. Keep up the good work.

This hymn always brings tears to my eyes as it is so often sung at funerals and such was fr both my parents - and it so knowingly reaffirms our christian faith - the words are so poignant and full of powerful meaning,
