  • What program is this?

  • @zingodoom Arrangement was done in Reason 4, screen capture was done on Audacity.

  • E.P.I.C.

  • @Vinzer: This is better than the original, easily, which is saying something considering how the original is translates so well the struggle of FFVIII. Incredible job. I've been listening to your other work on Newgrounds as well. It's not as good as this but still awesome! I love how your MGS2 Boss Theme wouldn't sound out of place in FFXIII!

  • 0:29 different key, different subject matter, different game. Coincidence.

  • Nobuo simply threw that into the start of Premonition. i know it's part of "Highwind Takes to the Skies" from VII but hey, when you write all the music, you kinda give yourself the right to do that. :P also, the bit you made at the ending is from "The Landing"

  • This melody is.... OUT-OF-TIME!

  • This...

    Remastered Soundtrack...

    is...

    AWESOME!!!

  • no! i lied!

    i forget the name DAMN

  • force your way?

  • magnifique... and sparkly.

  • This is incredible. Easily the best remix of this tune and in many ways better than the original. An amazing job.

  • 0:29 that had to be ripped straight from FF7 RIGHT THERE!

  • @harlyops i doubt it the musical score for VIII was far better than the one for VII

  • @333ville true its use is better here but its no doubt "borrowed" form FF7

  • @harlyops it probably just sounds similar nobuo uematsu made all of these songs so its not surprising that some of them are similar

  • @333ville still he did use it not asking why. just saying its straight fromm FF7 theme

  • @harlyops It's a well-known FF factoid.

  • This was beautiful.. any chance of a download? Glorious!

  • Transition of 'The Landing'? Neat? I hereby, give back to you the cookie I just stole! Fridge brilliance! Bravo!

  • I love how from 2:44 to 2:57 it the pace goes from frantic to subdued. So epic. :))))

  • is it possible to get a download of this?

  • Comment removed

  • You made in in Reason? Did you use the orchestral sound banks or some other ones? Any change for a MP3 download?

  • Download? D:

  • Orchestral arrangement of The Extreme?

  • Wow. Just....wow. This made my skin tingle...really. That was amazing. It just takes Premonition, which is one of my top FFVIII battle themes, into another dimension.

  • @Tenitra Die.

  • Better than the original.

  • oh... my ... god...

    fucking amazing!!

    this is amazing!!

  • This is mostly well done, but I strongly disagree with your decision to throw out the irregular meter of the song. The percussion pattern is pretty key, especially when it causes a slight change in time signature. It's not supposed to be regular: the time signature changes throw off the listener, fitting into the theme of the song.

  • DAMN 8D

  • Ok, I want this song!!

  • So... Good...

  • This song just begs for a VIII remake!

  • @ChainsOfConviction so true

  • @ChainsOfConviction so true

  • jaw dropping effort. must have taken you ages.

  • This is a very nice arrangement! If only you could get real instruments to play it... :D

  • Rest assured fools........Your time will come

  • i was expectingthis to be some crap attempt at it, but damn man, this is brilliant! keep up the good work! A++++++++ lol

  • Dear God this is absolutely amazing. If I told you I wanted an MP3.....?

  • God damn this is really great!

  • This made me kum all over my komputer.

  • Audacity :D:D:D:D:D:XDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDD

  • MP3 pl0x

  • My favorite off the game, great work!

  • Sounds like you used "Maybe I'm a Lion" for the transition. It would be fitting if it was, too, since Griever unfortunately symbolizes as the GF of the Succession.

  • ultimecia is Rinoa!!!

  • The accursed SeeD....

  • @vianmobe NO KURSED SEEDS

  • EARGASMS.

  • Amazing! :O May we have a mp3 DL link plz? ^^ Thank you. :)

  • the transition near the end you talked about in your description is "The Landing" from ff8.

which like someone else mentioned if you remixed would be awesome O.O

  • what programs are you using? sounds amazing, i like it more than the original

  • This...is beautiful.

  • Can i download this, please?

  • Vinzer, I appreciate your work and respect for mr.uematsu. so, if, you decide to work on Extreme.... I hope it sounds great and with wonderful mix or something but, yes... you did a nice job on this,

  • Comments like what i'm posting are plentiful and cheap, but this piece is in serious danger of being the best version of premonition i've ever heard. Bar none.

Would you consider remaking "The Landing"? If it sounds anywhere as good as this, it should be awesome.

  • @kblargh I've been meaning to do the Landing and Legendary Beast, but my motivation isn't what it used to be...

  • @Vinzer Which is the whole problem of not actually having an army of anime schoolgirls to cheer you on. I know the feeling. Still, if you manage to make do without them, i'll know. Having subscribed and all.

  • @kblargh boi

  • @kblargh I second the request for The Landing :)

  • Sorry but why are the time signature changes 'dumb'?

  • @debrucey At the time, they seemed out of place. I'm sure there are some wonderful music theory explanations for why composers throw in odd time signature changes that last for only one or two bars, but for me, it made my job of arranging that section go by faster.

  • @Vinzer Hehe, theyre not reasons of theory theyre reasons of creativity :P. But as the arranger I suppose you're at liberty to treat the material however you want. You should listen to some stravinsky sometime, his time signatures can change every bar :P

  • this shouldve been in dissidia

  • Great work!

  • Face places a link of this music for download, because it was very good, because Nobuo should place new versions of orchestras in the new albums, because every year is almost the same thing, because I was imagining that music now.

  • Daniel Day Lewis raves "FJK46 thought this was kickass"

  • I just choked that was amazing, mind if i ask what programs you use?

  • @CatBandanna Propellerheads's Reason.

  • @Vinzer do the instruments used in this track come with reason or do you have to buy them seperately? Thanks and sorry you must get loads of questions on this.

  • @limbobbins Orkester sound bank or whatever its called.

  • @Vinzer thanks

  • Seems drug out on some notes, but all in all a great remix.

AS for vthe ending, was that the landing from ff8 done in the style of ff9s hunters chance?

  • @kaurii No, I think that was another arrangement from the FF8 "Landing" theme, which is also an amazing orchestral song.

  • YOU WIN !!

  • how the... how did you arrange it to an orchestral version?????

did you like find and orchestra and requested the conductor to record it???

this recording is pretty damn amazing

  • omg thats the first "orchestral" version thats sounds completely awesome!! And you did this with reason? Never liked that program, it was kinda complicated^^

  • Awesome, I've been waiting for someone to make a version with realistic sounds. Good job.

Now I just need to get the metal version I'm feeling recorded and I'll be a happy ,man.

  • WHOA!!!

  • AMAZING job!

  • Wonderful work. Super Music and a genius creator.

  • I know that song! The transisiton was "The Landing"!

Freakin' sweet. If you do a version of The Landing, I'd commit murders to hear it. (Not really, but I'd still love to hear it. XD)

  • Nice job, so many arrangements posted anymore are just midi files with better samples. Glad there are a few people left who don't do that. I plan to do a big arrangement this summer with FF music, just need to figure out what songs, lol. Just got Cubase 5 and nice Orchestral Samples. So hopefully I can make it sound well done.

  • Although YouTube killed the audio quality, it sounds utterly powerful.

Perfect, absolutely perfect job with it.

I'm looking forward to get download of this in the future (as mentioned that you're working on a website).

Will you be arranging more Final Fantasy VIII music in the future?

Anyway, please keep up the fantastic work! :)

  • pretty damn amazing work here. wish i could give it a high rating. really awesome man.

if i may, i only have one piece of criticism: the missing flute that should come in at 1:46.

  • @visualkei72 It's there, I just made the strings stand out more cause I wanted that voice more than the flute.

  • This. Is. So. Good! Have you thought about doing more from FFVIII?

  • magnificient...you are really good at this !

  • This is ABSOLUTELY BRILLIANT! I want this song yesterday!

  • With your permission, is there a way to download this song or a link.....i wanna use it for my dissidia deathmatches....XD

  • @SFGK If you can bear with me, I;m tryingto put togehther a website in order to upload an mp3 version. I'll be sure to let everyone know when it's ready.

  • @SFGK You Know Theres A Site That Lets You Download The Music From The Videos Of Youtube Free & Easily If You Still Want This Masterpiece I Can Tell You How If Vinzer Dosent Mind Of Course

  • I really have to admire your work, by now, i think you are the only one who made an orchestration of this song. CONGRATS!

  • Fantastic arrangement! Any easy 5*'s. Thanks for your hard work!

  • Fucking awesome there are fans out there doing this kinda stuff - THANKS SO MUCH! I cannot tell you enough how incredible this is. You've done a magnificent job! Far superior to the original.

  • its excellent but id increase the volume of the flute in the chorus bit

  • It was wicked awesome, especially the way you put part of "the Landing" in there. 11/10

  • This makes me VERY happy :) :) :) LOVE this song...

  • could you send it to me too please ?

  • Can post an mp3 link? I want to listen to it everyday! Thanks

  • Oh gods. I got goosebumps. Magnificent!

  • Your vain krusade ends here, SeeDs.

  • @HPDDJ Whom shall I exterminate first? I'll start with you three!

  • Oh wow. If I could give this 7 stars out of 5, I would. And I would make several more accounts and give the same score.

  • you've done a really great job, well done. Until it really does get played by an orchestra yours will certainly be the best version.

  • Wow, thats stunning and such power and majesty!

Really would fit well in the game thats for sure...amazing!

  • Beautiful! And this program, it's called Audacity, no? 5 stars!

  • The wonderful thing about this arrangment is I can almost imagine it playing during the scenes before the Edea/Ultimecia fights, when she says her threats to the party each time. And then you'd get to the battle, and wow, maybe I just have an overactive imagination, but still. Just incredible work. I can't believe how talented you are to be able to breathe life into this song, which already was amazing, but what you added to it is just so much more. :D

  • WOW. I´m speechless

  • @xXxthedesperadoxXx I second this. Seriously, you need to be getting paid for this.

  • Around 3:03 That's not Premonition, it's The Landing.

  • I think the transition to the ending part is The Landing, right?

  • Yes.

  • Wow, I love your recompositions! Great work! :)

  • Pretty xD Love that :3

  • Now that this song's in my favorites, I just wanted to tell you what a wonderful job you did. Easily one of the best arrangements of a video game song I've heard!

  • Audacity is a good program.

  • BRILLIANT ! ! !

  • I love this song and i think its my favorite. I think the draw system sucked, i wanted to have mp, but the junction system was cool, maybe a bit overpowered. favorite part starts at 1:42

  • Yeah the Junction system makes the game way to easy if you know how to abuse it.

  • wow... just wow

  • It's great, but to me, I think the notes should be higher pitched... Oh well... lol That's just me... I like creepy, high-pitched boss battle music... lol

    5/5

  • perfect job

  • This is...I could cry. Cheers!

  • If I had to guess, I'd say your "special ending" was the music taken from the end of Disc One, the scene where Edea stabs Squall with her Ice Strike limit break. Am I right? Do I get a cookie?

I love what you've done here, my one (TINY) complaint is that it coulda been a bit brisker towards the end - doesn't the piece gather pace? There is a "climax", I'm sure, although the piece loops. I'm a musician myself btw, Grade 8 pianist, albeit I'm no composer. Fantastic job!

  • Someone already answered that question correctly, it's not the ending, the ending is just a re-hash of the beginning in C# minor, it's the transition from 2:59 to 3:15, which is taken from "The Landing" if you listen closely.

Anyway, the ending could have been faster, yes. But the idea, the concept of the whole arrangement was that it should be epic. An epic beginning, and an epic ending. The song itself is epic, but I wanted to expand on it with my own touch.

  • What key signature is the rest of the piece in? Also, is it possible to download this song (your version, I already have the OST) as an MP3? One of my friends might like to use this piece in a video, also it sounds like something I could play multiplayer deathmatch to (on Gears of War.) Epic in every way. Just post a link if you have an MP3 version of it. Thanks.

  • My favourite boss battle from the entire FF series. And that's saying something - they're all good, really! 7's and 8's stand out, though.

  • im amazed by your work! sounds better than the original

  • Can you tell me what vsti u used for all that orchestra things... im now searching a long time for something like that.

  • I used mostly Reason's NN-XT sampler. The strings were used from the NN-XT folder, and the brass and woodwind instruments were taken from the Orkester Sound Bank (also included in my version of Reason).

  • One of my favorites on the soundtrack

And this is just... too good for words

  • Aww, I was really hoping for that awsome indian chime rythum... XD

  • VERY nice.. and epic =P

  • 5 Stars, Faved.

    Good job dude, good job!

  • *hypnotised* high quality is my best friend

    Also Very awesome work

  • Hmmm, thought it was "Don't Be Afraid", regular battle theme... oh well

  • The song you used for the transition; sounds a bit like "Blue Sky"

  • For the transition, I'm referring to 2:59 to 3:15.

  • Oh, then gimme that cookie cause its my favourite piece - The Landing

  • Hmm. Very well. One macadamia nut cookie being express mailed to you right now.

  • Beautiful. <3 One word says it all. Well done!
