NO, "itbegins2005," NOT everyone understands that nuclear war is a bad thing -- if they did, you wouldN'T have so many snide bitchy fans talking shit about the Quest for Peace's TRIVIAL flaws ...
"Oversimplified?" It's called HOLLYWOOD, son! Reeve was under NO obligation to cover every single base. All that was necessary was for him to draw attention to the issue, which he did! If you want something that addresses the root causes, then YOU rustle up a few million and shoot your OWN movie.
Yes, Superman IV's intentions were noble, no one is arguing against that. But it was also a catastrophic failure as a film, and greatly oversimplified the nature of the international conflict that made nuclear weapons such a looming threat in the first place.
Of course nuclear war is a bad thing. EVERYONE understands that. So a movie that comes along to tell us that "nuclear war is bad" rather than trying to address the root causes of it can only come across as hopelessly condescending.

In other words, if you believe that a man can fly, then what-the-fuck-ever-else you people are turning your stuck up noses at is just as believable. NO one gives a shit about the weight of the moon! These are god-like characters to begin with!
It's going to take an all-white city getting nuked before y'all finally understand.
Given what's going on in Japan right now, you snide, bitchy fans ought to be ashamed of yourselves -- turning your noses up at a movie promoting nuclear aboltion while psychotically obsessing over TRIVIAL flaws ...
... clearly, it's going to take someplace predominantly white getting nuked before y'all finally get it through your thick skulls ...
Que final más malo. Eso hubiese sido más malo que la misma pelicula. Lo digo con toda la sinceridad del caso como fanático 100% de las peliculas de Superman, protagonizadas por el legendario Christopher Reeve.
their cape still gonna move but probably not as much cuz theres no air, gravity has nothing to do with the flapping of a cape, and yes the moon does have gravity

Promoting nuclear abolition is FAR more important than whether some already colossally SPOILED fanboy was enraptured by a cinematic experience!
There are more important things in life than whether some colossally spoiled fanboy was enraptured by a cinematic experience. There's the fact that this movie is one of the few OVERTLY anti-nuclear movies in Hollywood history, so we owe Reeve a HUGE debt of gratitude for having done this.
Yeah Nuclear man had pure solar power. I assume thats what the beams are? Solar energy? So how could that hurt supes??? He gets all his power from earths yellow sun, so surely every attack from nuclear man would make superman stronger???? Wtf man???

You're right he wasn't out of shape. However CR really didn't like working out so by the 3rd movie, he was pretty much getting padded because he just didn't like it =(
@hulkster46a Haha Because it is! From Ennio Morricorn. Great composer. I think he did all the music for Clint Eastwood Spaghetti westerns and even one of his songs was in Kick Ass! WOOT! What a great trilogy those Clint Eastwood films were. :)
i want those 3 mintues of my life back - what a crummy video - i mean about 300 videos here shows superman in the end scene before everything is solved
something obviously thinks it's funny.... which is not
Go watch Richard Donner's Superman...there's nothing to confuse you...The greatest Comic Book Film ever made...and set the Standard for Every Comic Book Screenplay that followed.
Damn, he never should've done this. And about this stupid creation from the Sun, FFS, Supe should be stronger near him ! Supe gets his power from sun so anything made outta of Sun should only bring him power. It's so annoying.
Ha! ... sorry I am a huge Superman fan ... but couldn't help noticing that even in this old movie they managed to get the conditions on the moon right (unlike in the moon landing footage and photos!) The flag is as it should be and not waving about!!!
@dellis80 So do i understand that you think the moon landing shots were fabricated ? The flag was not waving about, it had just been moved by the astronauts and would still move for a while even on the moon.
@Dandaniels1978 Wish I WAS a "kid", fella'. LOL It doesn't matter where the music comes from pal, it doesn't go with this scene in my humble opinion. Plus it's a poor audio recording as well.
@BeachBoysGuy1 Fella.... since when did I make refererence as to whether or not I thought it went with this tin pot scene or make similar ref as to its audio quality? All I said if i remember correctly was that this music is EPIC! Which correct me If I'm wrong it is. Shabbat Shalom
@Dandaniels1978 You asked if I had any idea as to where this music is from, and i replied it doesn't matter to me because I think it does not go with the scene ..."epic" or not. Peace john :-)
@BeachBoysGuy1 Yes because you originally opinionated "The music awful in my opinion" responding to my original opinion "The music is Epic" comment. I replied- (Minus billy the kid) "have you any idea where this music comes from?" Meaning the classicness of it! You came back with "it doesn't go with this scene, and something about the audio quality?" So my question to you is this, do you like this classic spaghetti western soundtrack "The Ecstasy of Gold" from The Good The Bad the Ugly? V :)
@BeachBoysGuy1 Cool channel and cool singing by the way. I always appreciate musicians attempts at making the world a better place to live. Much love and peace V :)
@BeachBoysGuy1 And the moon landings were real. Elvis is definitely dead and Jews do not control the media. The Beach Boys were a cool band. Peace V :)
@BeachBoysGuy1 - Hi John...I haven't made my mind up yet. But the evidence out there seems overwhelming. And whilst I understand that you are being patriotic, which is very admirable, you can't argue with facts. There are lots of very unbiased documentaries on youtube, all I would say is have an open mind. Really enjoyed your singing by the way. David
Ok..part 4 was retarded..if the villain was made from the sun and superman gets his power from the sun..everytime he hit superman he should have made supes stronger.
For a guy who can push planets off their orbits, fly through the Sun, walk in the fiery core of the Earth lifting collapsing continents to place and survive nuclear blasts, Superman goes down a bit too easy.
Yea, but Super's always gets his ass kicked...runs off for a week, then comes back to destroy em all..He's like the weak kid who got beat up in school, then 10 yrs later, hes a cop, and hides behind his badge..right?
Last time I checked, Superman has heat vision, freeze breath, and super speed; on top of the fact that he's incredibly strong, and yet the filmmakers actually let Supes get beat up by a crummy made up villian. If Supes beat Zod, Non and Ursa, he shoulda moped the floor with this clown!
@Coltfighter you make a good point but remember that he was a copy of superman its almost like superman versing bizzaro except bizzarp didnt have the power ofsolar light
@fullbeardyo rofl. Good one. This Superman was the only that I was old enough to see in the theatres. At the time I thought it was awesome, but then again I was like 7 years old.
Yeah the ending made no sense atall. It was such a silly movie.Throughout the whole film Superman had his ass kicked and got beat up by that otha guy evrytime.Superman is supost to be the most powerful and the makers of this film made it look like he cudnt fight!
'hadukens' thats funny, i was reading think, "what the F is a Had Unken, or is it Ha Dunkens?? then all of a sudden Rhyu kicked me in the head and in my dazed state i realised what it was!! hehe
i love how superman looked worried and rolled out of the way when nuclear man tried 2 drop that boulder on him like it was gonna hurt him or somethin lol. i dont no. that part always makes me laugh.
Christopher Reeve and Gene Hackman were the only good things about this movie - an ignominious end to a franchise that had already reached the nadir with its atrocious previous instalment.
It's from one of the Sergio Leone "Dollars" movies with Clint Eastwood. A Fistful of Dollars, For a few Dollars More, and The Good, The Bad, and The Ugly.
yep...didnt think it was possible. Superman 4 was a bad movie but very entertaining. Superman Returns was just bad in every way and very boring and terribly made

The reason the movie sucked like it did was because the superman movie rights were aqquired by a company that had no clue what they were doing.
1) they cut the budget before production so they lost the special FX team
2) they cut the time lenth of the movie durring production prompting endless re-editing
You don't see Canon Film Group anymore do ya? WONDER WHY!

Goddamn it! This movie was meant to promote nuclear abolition, NOT to placate snide bitchy fans.
As the old expression goes, "in for a penny, in for a pound." In other words, if you believe that a man can fly, then what-the-fuck-ever-else you people are turning your stuck up noses at is just as believable. NO one gives a shit about the weight of the moon! These are god-like characters to begin with!
It's going to take an all-white city getting nuked before y'all finally understand.

No NOT the moon rock that would weigh 1/6th of its Earth-equivalent mass!!! Ouchies!!

Given what's going on in Japan right now, you snide, bitchy fans ought to be ashamed of yourselves -- turning your noses up at a movie promoting nuclear aboltion while psychotically obsessing over TRIVIAL flaws ...
... clearly, it's going to take someplace predominantly white getting nuked before y'all finally get it through your thick skulls ...

their cape still gonna move but probably not as much cuz theres no air, gravity has nothing to do with the flapping of a cape, and yes the moon does have gravity
Novak151992 11 months ago
One: how to the flag stay up if there is no gravity on the moon? Two: why are there capes flapping about while flying if again there is no gravity?

Promoting nuclear abolition is FAR more important than whether some already colossally SPOILED fanboy was enraptured by a cinematic experience!

There are more important things in life than whether some colossally spoiled fanboy was enraptured by a cinematic experience. There's the fact that this movie is one of the few OVERTLY anti-nuclear movies in Hollywood history, so we owe Reeve a HUGE debt of gratitude for having done this.

@dellis80 So do i understand that you think the moon landing shots were fabricated ? The flag was not waving about, it had just been moved by the astronauts and would still move for a while even on the moon.

@BeachBoysGuy1.....Kid have you any idea where this music is from?
Dandaniels1978 1 year ago
@Dandaniels1978 Wish I WAS a "kid", fella'. LOL It doesn't matter where the music comes from pal, it doesn't go with this scene in my humble opinion. Plus it's a poor audio recording as well.
BeachBoysGuy1 1 year ago
@BeachBoysGuy1 Fella.... since when did I make refererence as to whether or not I thought it went with this tin pot scene or make similar ref as to its audio quality? All I said if i remember correctly was that this music is EPIC! Which correct me If I'm wrong it is. Shabbat Shalom
Dandaniels1978 1 year ago
@Dandaniels1978 You asked if I had any idea as to where this music is from, and i replied it doesn't matter to me because I think it does not go with the scene ..."epic" or not. Peace john :-)
BeachBoysGuy1 1 year ago
@BeachBoysGuy1 Yes because you originally opinionated "The music awful in my opinion" responding to my original opinion "The music is Epic" comment. I replied- (Minus billy the kid) "have you any idea where this music comes from?" Meaning the classicness of it! You came back with "it doesn't go with this scene, and something about the audio quality?" So my question to you is this, do you like this classic spaghetti western soundtrack "The Ecstasy of Gold" from The Good The Bad the Ugly? V :)
Dandaniels1978 1 year ago
@BeachBoysGuy1 Cool channel and cool singing by the way. I always appreciate musicians attempts at making the world a better place to live. Much love and peace V :)
Dandaniels1978 1 year ago
@BeachBoysGuy1 And the moon landings were real. Elvis is definitely dead and Jews do not control the media. The Beach Boys were a cool band. Peace V :)
Dandaniels1978 1 year ago
@BeachBoysGuy1 - Hi John...I haven't made my mind up yet. But the evidence out there seems overwhelming. And whilst I understand that you are being patriotic, which is very admirable, you can't argue with facts. There are lots of very unbiased documentaries on youtube, all I would say is have an open mind. Really enjoyed your singing by the way. David
