Haters gonna hate. I applaud these folks for their ingenuity and drive. You flat Earthers that keep criticizing this idea ought to get into the buggy whip business.
This is not a good compaison to a car in anyway, (the outside) is bigger then any SUV, Cargo Van, almost the size of a large Dump Truck. So, you will never be able to drive this on any normal street nor will you be able to aprk this in any driveway or parking garage. Also, the inside is super small, not a great airplane. Yes, I saw it at the AOPA summit this year, not good, but good start.
I'm trying to see the practical side to this plane. So, you are on a business trip (or vacation) and you drive your plane to the hotel and the valet damages a wing or someone backs into it in the parking lot. Then what?
nothing like having your car serviced for A&P prices, and how is that going to work if i dont fly it but drive 100k? I think I'll stick with the way things are.
Why design something that can't fly or drive well? And why not make it amphibious while your at it?
I'd rather have a good safe car which drives me to a good safe aircraft which can carry and fly with 4 adults with luggage then something that can do either thing very good.

I will say this much for the flying car: There doesn't seem to be enough room for couples to get busy in the back seat! Trust me, it matters!!

They should have ditched the automatic wing folding mechanism to reduce weight. It doesn't seem like it would be that hard to do manually.
