There is supposed too be a sled operator to hit the breaks at the 300' mark incase of any problems. BUT Since this looks like t was at some back woods fair in the south they probly riged something together as a weight sled and said to each other " hey who wants to have some fun and try to get hurt". this is not the truck drivers fault at all. tractor and truck pulling is WFO all the time to win. its the sled operators job to set the sled so it will stop the tractors and trucks so this doesnt happen.

i was the sled operator during this accident. What happened was the sleds weight box had disengaged. its very rare that this ever happens. Most drivers will notice when this happens because there is no longer a huge amount of weight being pulled. but in some cases like this one it went un noticed. and no there was no brakes on the sled at this time, it stoped due to friction caused by the plate running on the ground, Now the sled is equipped air brakes that lock up with a safety switch

its the sleds fault cuz the weight box didn't come up. i see that all the time. casuall difficulties. but hey the flagman should have noticed that he wasn't using next to no torque and the sled driver should have noticed there wasn't a big scary shadow didn't move by him.

I know Berry and the reason he crashed was because he had to turn because of kids in front of him he didnt want to hit. If u watch 15 -17 seconds you can see them in front of him and he had to turn and the sled flipped him.
