@videolatinazo From what I was told, you are kinda correct. Boy George wrote this song based on his relationship wtih Jon Moss. Jon denined that they had a serious relationship, and all of a sudden got married. Soon after the band broke up.

Jon had every right to go have a relationship with someone else. George dated other people too after their breakup.

Man, I'm not gay, but, I really appreciate the slow jams that Boy George & Culture Club created. I almost forgot about this jam. Dang, why aren't there any songs like that today on mainstream radio. I mean, many of today's songs are either over-sexual, extremely violent, or extremely hateful. Let's bring back the old school songwriting and musicianship and blend it in with today's technology. That's what was so great about the music of the 80's. They were still songwriters/musicians.

reached no.10 in canada, so at least it was a hit somewhere, i think it was going to be released in the uk, as they performed it on the bbctv show, the kenny everett show, christmas 1984, the meddle song only got to no.31, so they seem to have then scrapped anymore plans to release anything else off waking up with the house on fire.pity as its such an amazing song.

To Tootie002: Yes, I feel the same way, but Jon led him on. He was (and is) and straight guy who wanted to experiment with George-probably just used him for sex, which is sad. George fell for him hook, line and sinker. After all, Jon was FINE back in the day...I would have probably fell for him too. I don't think George ever got over Jon and it ruined his career, and later his life. For someone to have that much control over someone else's life is a scary thing. Hope George finds someone nice.

if the internet was around back then, i think a lot of songs by george would have been big hits.rather than just album tracks.there are so many great songs that have been missed,with amazing lyrics..i used to sit and watch the chart show on a saturday in the hope of seeing a george/culture club vid..was watchin his Glasgow concert on here. he is fab! especailly "thats the way" didnt think anyone could be as good as helen terry but the women who sang her part was amazing.
