  • I never knew this recording except by the Isley Brothers from their Motown days.

It's a great song and I enjoyed this version...which I suspect may be the original!

  • I've been searching years to find a decent video of Paul Revere & T. Rs doing 'GOOD THING', but it seems they never got this one on tape. Anyone got a pirate copy to share with a rare English Raiders fan? They never got airtime over here in the 60's. Too much brill UK bands at the time, I suppose? (sad). Thanks, Mick.

  • Mick, there was a 60s TV show called Coliseum that had a performance of the band performing GOOD THING. It had to have been from early 67 because Jim Valley was on guitar. Someone had it posted on Youtube a few weeks back but it has since disappeared. I think you can find it on ebay.

  • @jazzbo89 - Thanks for the tip Jazzbo. I'll check out other options as well. I agree with your ponts about Mark Lindsay's performance on the recent clips, but in his defence, it is over 40 years since and we all lose a bit of funk the older we get. Cheers! Mick. (369Bollix)

  • I'm a HUGE Raiders fan and this tune is a masterpiece, but Mark, what's the hurry? I know reving up songs in live performances is common, but this particular tune loses the original funkiness and delves into Vegas showtune territory at this faster beat. Just sayin Glad Mark is still out their kickin' it, though!!!!

  • Oh the cruelty of incomplete clandestine wonderfulness!! Thanks anyway!

  • Mark, you're such a good thing!
