  • Ha Ha...This right here...will WAKE THE DEAD! Have Mercy....ooooo

  • Mandrill, funky as they wanna be!! One of my faves.Raw funky energy.

  • i've found you just a month ago and it was the best discover of my life! i just love all your album, from mandrill to getting in the mood!

  • i was at Ft Dupont Park on Aug 13th and Mandrill KILLED IT. the entire show was classic.everyone was grooving and on their feet dancing (including your's truly). what was incredible was how well they played after all these years and how closely they sounded like the original recording. What a show. What a concert. What a band. Mandrill; quintessential funk.

  • love it

  • I had to do it..I had to bring the FUNKY STUFF!!!

  • I steal all your beats neftie. You shaped how I play drums. A hispanic dude playin FUNK

  • Can't wait until August 13, 2011. Gonna check them out at Fort Dupont in DC. I have always been a Mandrill Fan...... Been checking them out since they put out Hang Loose.

  • NO SAMPLING.

    NO RAP.

    STRAIGHT UP 70'S FUNK....MANDRILL STYLE !

DAMN, I LOVE THESE GUYS !!!!!

  • I grew up in the 70s, and this was the jam. Mandrill was ahead of their time. They are coming to DC this summer at Fort Dupont. I will be there in the Front Row. Can't wait.

  • That's not Claude on the keyboards. That's my friend Arlan. One of the best.

  • Mandrill must be a gang of supernaturals – just getting stronger and stronger. Soon they will rule the world … (at least I hope they will!:-)

  • I used to visit Queens , New York every summer from Wilmington, Delaware,,,thats where I learned how to do the Fencewalk,,,,bought it back to Delaware, and we partied.

  • I am from this time and this performance is as fierce and original as the album , god bless you brothers this is the path that artist and musicians has payed that can be but not always associated with the present. Good fuckin job of showing how it was and is done.

  • EVERYTIME, I HEAR THIS MY CAR HITS ALL EIGHT CYLINDERS. AND I ZONE OUT BACK TO WHEN I WAS LITTLE , IN THE BACK SEAT OF MY UNCLE BOB'S 98.

  • THE HORN sound great we need to bring this back

  • YEAH THATS HIS NAME CLAUDE ON KEYBOARD

  • BETTER I REMEMBER DANCIN TO THIS ONE AND WINNING ALL THE DANCE CONTESTS AND I DO MEAN ALL OF THEM!!! I FENCEWALK ALL OVER THEY HEADS LOL BUT FOREAL WHAT HAPPEN TO PIANO MAN WITH THE LONG HAIR? WITH HIS FINE SELF

  • what became of Claude Cave...key boards?

  • From a 40 year Funk vet. THIS IS GENUINE FUNK!!!!!

  • Yea I agree. Marc has a deep respect for the original solos.

  • Marc Rey's lead guitar playing on this is KILLER! He sounds like Omar Mesa and Terry Kath (of Chicago) rolled up into one!

  • So sorry to hear about Fudgie, he laid down some heavy bass lines

  • They still look young, go!!!! Still got it going on

  • @djladyfantasy

Well thank you. I feel young still.

  • Too funky, gotta open some windows!

AT LEAST as good as the old classic recordings.

These guys age like fine vintage wine.

  • What can one say, that hasn't been said already....the band is just hoooot! I'm from Waterbury, CT and back in the day 1970's we were on it...plugged in and tuned into Mandrill. Thank you Neftali Santiago, and all of members of the band for sharing your talents, gifts and music! The funk was so thick, you needed a chain saw to cut through it...and that's good! Cause that's the way we love it! Again, that you...thank you....thank you!

    Peace & Love!

    John Green

  • @458northmain

Your more than welcome John. Nice to see a dedicated fan.

  • @458northmain....Da' STRAIGHT TRUTH 458!!!

    MANDRILL's flow - a ridiculously awesome fusion of Funk/Latin/Jazz - was 2nd 2 NONE! Neftali & Crew's tite-@ss rhythms, IN-YR-D@MN-FACE brass perfs, hard-edge lead & rhythm git-work over a bed of "hot-sauced" flavored, Hammond B-3-w.-Leslie (& some Clav ) throw-down produced 1, SICK-@ss CLASSIC!!!

The " 'Drill " 4-Eva' baby! They don't ( or just can't) MAKE 'em like this n-e mo'! 1 of the MAIN reasons I became a musician (bassist).

  • @458northmain

Also from Waterbury (dirty water) lover the old school Jazz Funk on youtube ..Im from the Hill/ Futon park areas Kennedy HS 1979

  • I love these brothers!!! MANDRILL fo LIFE!!!

  • They've still got it!!!! 40 years later and still on it!!! Just Baaaaaaaad!!!!

  • yes!!!! funk is in the house!

  • Peace and Love, Mandrill!

  • bad song, bad video. the song has always been bad. the video brought it out even more. fencewalk was the first song i learned on bass - everything from start to finish is the reason it's my favorite song of all time. keep up the funk!

  • OMG! This song is just as funky as when I first heard it years ago. Where is all of the real music? This is what I need to be listening to on my morning drive to work. Coffee??? Please it can't kick higher than what you guys have in your soulful cups. Keep playing AMAZING funk. Love you guys 4ever! Peace!

  • Mandrill rocks.

  • Great Performence is what you get * * * * * *

    Thank you

  • Mandrill's still got that funk, awesome!!!

  • This is badass... Can someone tell me who all is in the band? Thanks! I still miss Fudgie Kae with these cats, RIP...

  • what a jivvin crowd.i would dance my ass of to the stage DAMN

  • best ! =)

  • "Not whatcha say....It's whatcha do....!!!!..."

  • Mandril is still kicking azz - i had no idea, thnks for posting this 4real u know - and they sound really good still like yesterday - one thing about Mandril - they're vocals are impeccable too..remember 'gone gone house of wood' and even her fencewalk their singing is awesome - we know they play good music - they look good too-go head Mandril - i'm in love again with these guys

  • Off The Chain!!!

  • Simply Awesome. One of my all time favorites. The music is tight.

  • aahh...much love to Mandrill, so good to see these guys back out doing their thing again

  • Definitely one of my favorite bands ever,

    Galo

  • One of the first bass lines I ever learned. My cousin brought a Mandrill album home from college and hip me to it. I was a Fudgie Kae fan from the first bar. He is the "Reason I Sing"..... Peace!

  • Fudgie Kae was the best bass player I have ever performed with. RIP

  • This is just amazing!!

Alot of bands from th 70's, when you see them now, they kinda lack the funk!

But these guys are just as good now as they were 40 years ago! ;)

    - Martin Fuzz
