  • winters is a British actor haha half the cast is

  • Better than most I have heard.

  • Ho-ly fuck :O

  • He looked a bit too British but his accent wasn't too bad actually

  • I'm proud to be Evans :D

  • you see the dude of the right yeah he is also british

  • there's still a hint of british accent in there...

  • That wasn't too bad...

  • I didn't even realize it was him when I first saw it.

  • He's pasty aka British.

  • @Antipopularization im black aka british

  • I think its funny because the actor who played Winters is REALLY British lol

    They hide their accents well.

  • @Shelby500lvr I know i thinks its called acting or something :P

  • @GInjaNinja118 smartass lol

  • OMG I love him so much!

  • "court marshal"?????? Court MARTIAL!!!!

  • @FrankWernPennant What do you expect from a civilian ? LOL...

  • sounda like bruce willis

  • If Pegs accent astounds you, look up a video of Damien Lewis where he talks normal.

  • Is that the only part he's in? Pretty big name actor for a part that could be played by an actor if so

  • @KillerBeeLFC Not at the time he wasnt.

  • @KillerBeeLFC

well, no one had a crystal ball on set, so they didn't know how good Shaun Of The Dead would be

  • @TheP00pBandit @silentbob8201 He starred in and wrote Spaced before he was in Band of Brothers so he was still a big name for such a small part.

  • Huh, I don't remember this at all.

  • DAAAAMNN WHAT THE HELL

  • I think it's sexy!

  • I had no idea! I've seen this scene so many times and I never figured it out!

  • HOW DID I SEE THIS AND NOT NOTICE THAT WAS PEGG!?

    That's a damn good accent.

  • @BlackEpsilon i know!

  • Sounds like Jack Harkness. Brits all have the same fake American accent.

  • @Supermassively john barrowman grew up in illonois

  • I don't care what Simon Pegg ends up acting in, I cannot take him seriously. I keep thinking that it must be a joke!

  • band of brothers = American however two of the actors in this scene alone are british GREAT!

  • didnt even realise it was peg ha

  • I didn't even know that was Simon Pegg without his accent. They did film in the UK, so I guess they would hire a lot of British actors to play Americans.

  • The voice doesn't match the character all that well. Maybe he just doesn't make that much of a convincing first sergeant.

  • fucking amazing!!!

  • I think he pulled it off.

  • I prefer his swive beautiful british accent, american accents are so nasly and monotoned. must admit he does a good accent, i'm american and i cant for the life of me do a british accent.

  • is it just me or does he sound like he should be taller with the american accent?

  • aww that's it?

  • Damian Lewis (Dick Winters) is British

  • OK yanks, now you do your most convincing British accent...

(PS: Angelina Jolie's Lara Croft was not convincing)

  • i was actually scared when i heard him speak the first time i watched BoB

  • Hell i thought this was a comedy sketch

  • badass....

  • This is the guy from Shawn of the Dead right? If it isn't, fuck the limey prick.

  • @FixFalcon it is

  • Wow! Good job Pegg!

You can even place which part of the US. I'd say somewhere South, but not deep South.

  • That was pretty damn good! All except the "t" on "winters".

  • @existenceisrelative would it be more like winners?

  • Accent? wait hes not american xD

  • @crackshack2 British.

  • @AmersfoortTristan Holy shit! XDD

  • @crackshack2 try seeing the trailer for Shaun of the dead or some other movies of his, he got a real strong english accent! :D

  • He passed everything except the "t" in Winters. Most North Americans don't pronounce the "t" in many words and when they do it sounds more like a "d".

Example: "Winters" = Winners with a weird hook on the "n" showing that a "t" should be there. With the "d" sound: Water sounds more like Wodder.

  • Not bad at all...but I thought his accent in Star Trek was even better

  • It's odd to watch this as an American. You can't explain to others how to do an American accent, it'd be like explaining how to breath; it's not something you can teach, it's just something you do.

  • "now if you excuse me sir, I have a tiny village that needs a bad ass cop!" :) Great post!

  • Lieutenant Winters....With Captain Sobel's compliments sir......(note reads) "You've got red on you"

  • Awesome that alot of brits acted as yanks in this....great actors

  • He still looks British, if that makes sense.

  • @AFL489 lololol no it fucking doesnt

  • @AFL489 he LOOKED with a British accent

  • @AFL489 The guy that plays winters is British also and I've seen him in British shows, what's been seen cannot be unseen... :(

  • @Liberate1990 yeah you would have also seen him in "dreamcatcher" playing an american again...

  • @DesignRec Dreamcatchers was an atrocious movie, you can't unsee that shit

  • @AFL489 Yeah because hes pale and has light hair.

  • @mastercheff1216 Oh wow how insightful I didn't notice only British people had pale skin and light hair I guess my friend from Canada is British. No I'm pretty sure the reason most people see him as British is simply because they know he is British it is hard to lie to yourself.

  • @doggod106 Well actually he's English like, me and English people are a light skinned people with generally light hair light eyes.

  • @mastercheff1216 AFL489 said British so I said British I know that he is English but I still think the reason people see him as a British/English person is because they know he is British/English.

  • does anyone else think that whenever a british man speaks with an american accent, it makes their voice go lower?? like if you agree!

  • I honestly don't remember Simon Pegg ever being in this show, and I've seen it through like ten times.

  • That wasn't his one and only line. He talks with Captain Sobel when they're about to cut the wires to that farmers fence; also I believe he says a word or two whilst flying to Normandy.

  • HOLY SHIT THE GUY FROM SHAWN OF THE DEAD WAS IN BAND OF BROTHERS FOR A WHOLE 10 SECONDS!!?!! *head esplodes from sheer awesomeness*

  • Wow well done lol.

  • That was great! Simon Pegg is awesome

  • pretty good american accent

  • The man is a chameleon.

  • he dies in this series

  • @Haloskulls117 No shit. The guy he plays died in WW2

  • @sniffman1 i know, i spent over a week researching the men who died in that plane

  • He was in Shaun of the dead? No way this is the same dude!

  • @ColeTrain4EVER Well duHH!!

No shit sherlock, you yanks are a bit slow ay?

  • @85Aheadstix Fuck you

  • OMG! He totally hid his british accent! wtf? wow!

  • @DG3744 Not so 'OMG WTF' worthy when you consider he only had to say literally five words.

  • Amazing.

  • I had no idea that was Pegg

  • Sounds convincingly midwestern. He did a good jorb.

  • Have you heard all his accents. He delivers them perfectly in his movies. Brilliant!

  • ahhh hahaha i cannot take him seriously with that accent

  • OMG first I find out that Michael Fassbender and James McAvoy was in this now Simon Pegg? And I've seen this show so many times.

  • @Maria29493 You forgot Jamie Bamber.

  • He sounds so manly with American accent...

  • @CamelliaAoi

    sooo manly~ <3

  • @CamelliaAoi He sounds manly with an English accent. I think to put on an accent degrades him though.

  • I don't think anyone in that scene is American!

  • @MrBuch169169 Ron Livingston is.

  • You mean is born in Tennessee raised in Ohio accent?

  • NO WAY! That was Simon Pegg?? Damn, I never knew that!

  • haha...lol

  • @bigc529 That and a huge chunk of Band of Brothers was filmed in the UK jointly with HBO and the BBC.

  • What accent? He was talking like a real man

  • @tadmonte he's british

  • every time i see this episode i always thaught it looked like pegg wasnt sure though hmm, it was cool.

his character Sgt Evan's actually dies, he was in Lt Mehan's plane, the one where the engine blew up and the whole cabin caught fire.

  • Maj. Richard D. Winters Pvt. Robert 'Popeye' Wynn Sgt. Wayne 'Skinny' Sisk Sgt. Alton More Pvt. James 'Moe' Alley SSgt. John Martin Sgt. Charles 'Chuck' Grant Cpl. Joseph Liebgott 1st Lt. Albert Blithe Just some played by British actors, Most films are, Saving private Ryan, Black hawk down most films are.
  • i don't know why people are so surprised there's a brit playing an american in this... Lieutenant Winters is English lol? there's a ton of other English guys playing the lead roles.

  • pegg is the man

  • they made Pegg a Gunny Sarge?

  • @WARMAKER1814 He's a 1SG. Three up, three down, with a lozenge in the middle. No such rank as Gunnery Sargent in the army.

  • @WARMAKER1814 1st sarge not a gunny

  • @WARMAKER1814

Gunnery Sergeant is a rank exclusive to the United States Marine Corps. No other military branch or organization on the planet Earth has the enlisted rank of Gunnery Sergeant.

  • @WunderDoob the Scots Guards have Gunnery Sergeant Major so thats prob the closest you can get !

  • @spetsnaz4656

    I did not know that.

  • @WunderDoob - "Gunnery Sergeant is a rank exclusive to the United States Marine Corps....

While that's true, that's not to say the other branches don't have equivalent (E-7) ranks. When the grade was created in 1912, it originally required a sufficient knowledge of ordnance and of weapons to be able to make minor repairs to gun and supervision of all work in connection with guns.

    Army - Sergeant First Class

    Navy - Chief Petty Officer

Air Force - Master Sergeant/First Sergeant

  • @broadjumper1

I don't care if you want to go to Wikipedia to read things, but don't repeat them to me just to make yourself feel important.

  • @WunderDoob - It had nothing to do with wikipedia wunderNOOB, but from 27 years of military service. I don't care if you want to remain an ignorant dumbass, but you seem to revel in it. Good luck with that.

  • @broadjumper1

Oh now I'm an ignorant dumbass because of what I said? I didn't look that up on Wikipedia, I learned this when I was 15 and my brother was in boot camp. I talk to veterans on a daily basis. I've been reading for a long time. You know what I've learned ? That most of them know a large amount of information about one or two things, and absolutely nothing about everything else. One thing I know, every Abrams lost in Desert Storm was from friendly fire. Go brag about that.

  • @WunderDoob - No, what makes you a dumbass is your attitude, I rightly don't give a fuck about your brother, how many veterans you've spoken with. or what you claim to have read. For your information of the Abrams lost in Desert Storm ,were NOT ALL due to friendly fire, that comment alone proves you haven't learned nearly as much as you believe. I know of at least one that was lost due direct fire and another through secondary explosions from an Iraqi T-72.

Wise up noob, you have lots to learn.

  • @broadjumper1

Nobody gives a fuck about you. That's why you go on Youtube every day to troll people. At 49 years old? Wow. Apparently your illustrious military career didn't help you grow up any. Heres the part where I get an attitude with you: Do us all a favor and go fucking kill yourself, asshole. You've done nothing important for this country except waste it's tax dollars and oxygen. Piss off and die.

  • @WunderDoob - I don't give a fuck what you have to say. And even if you live to be twice as old as I am, you won't achieve half as much...now go fuck yourself, nobody else will..

  • omfg... he was in band of brothers? X_X two awesome things meeting together and I missed them... crap.

  • American accent is not hard to do, its actually very easy, even for those whose first language isnt english. Redneck accent is especially easy to do. :P

  • @derbigpr500 I dunno there isn't really one American accent, someone from Georgia doesn't sound like someone from New York. Hell New York alone has various accents depending on ethnicity and location. An Irish Catholic from Brooklyn doesn't sound like a Jew from Queens.

  • holy shit...i never noticed that was him...and that is quite the good accent.

  • The way he says "Winters" gives away his identity haha. It's cool to see this sorta thing though!

  • @Terrr05 Lt. "Wintas"

  • it wouldt have been class if he'd done his micheal caine impression

  • his accent is ok i guess, anyone could do it to that level though. Damian's on the other handis first class, really brilliant

  • Wow! Well done, Mister Pegg. : D

  • A Brit playing an American addressing a Brit playing an American in an American series set (in part) in Britain, how international/integrated we are... And neither Brit is a bad guy.

  • @generallyembarrassed i thought damian lewis was an aussie?

  • @Taxi502

British. As are many of the cast of BoB (and Black Hawk Down, incidentally).

  • @2210ethan yeah, Ross McCall (Liebgott) is also British

  • @generallyembarrassed They're not bad guys because they're pretending to be American ;) :D

  • Well, Brits grow up listening to American accents in TV and movies.

  • he sounds like a southerner

  • Holy shit I just realised this weekend! Good accent too.

  • Hah, I don't even remember this?

  • Holy crap. He sounds really legit.

  • HE'S GOT AN ARM OFF

  • well i never, how did he do that without me recognising him

  • i only found this out now, im gonna have to re-watch band of brothers, see what else i missed lol

  • OMFG IVE ONLY JUST NOTICED!

  • Not a bad accent to be honest.

  • You can also see the actor who plays Apollo in Battlestar Galactica hidden in the series as one of the prisoners in 'The Last Patrol.'

  • i still can't beleive it after all these years

  • thats a good american accent

  • I had no idea he was in Band of Brothers... Sneaky TV-show trying to fool me...

  • First Sergeant Pegg.

  • Wow, that was pretty good.

  • Was anyone in that shot actually American.

  • @batmanofni LOL Only Ron Livingston.

  • The bloke he is delivering the telegram to is English in real life.

  • I just love Band of Brothers even more now

  • @proteusescape

Tom hardy's in it as well

  • As a Brit, I think he forced the "CYaptain" too hard...

  • Thats as good as Hugh Laurie's Accent. Uncannily well done

  • "...with comptain sobel's compliments..." - *opens letter* it reads: You've got red on you

  • @staysurf999 you win at youtube comments :-)

  • @staysurf999

best comment on youtube i've ever seen. hahaha

  • Comment removed

  • @SecretService80 it's a reference to Shaun of the Dead, where everyone is constantly telling him "you've got red on you" referring to a pen that leaked into his breast pocket. the joke continues into after all the zombie fight scenes where he's covered in blood, people still point out the red ink.

  • @ButtsexV2 Got it. I've seen "Hot Fuzz" but not "Shaun Of The Dead." Thanks for a straight answer!

  • @staysurf999 XD

  • @staysurf999 Best. Comment. Ever.

  • @staysurf999 LOL shaun of the dead

  • @staysurf999 awesome xD xD LOL!!

  • @staysurf999 i don't get it??

  • sgt. evans! you got some ink on your shirt!

  • These are the exact words I spoke when I first saw Pegg on BoB:

"AHA! It's Simon Pegg! He's doing an American accent! HAHAAHAHAHAHA!"

  • Pfffft...not amazing..

  • seems a bit off to me.
