Does anyone know where to buy a relatively cheap baroque lute ? There only are renaissance instruments on ebay and I really cannot afford the work of a professional.
@kidneykutter Well to be a smart ass if you changed certain notes it could end up in F# minor, being its relative minor right? lol but um, I'm assuming that he's talking about Bach's Bourree in E minor. Which is funny because this is a completely different song.
what instrument is that?

@evilkanival1423 It is a 13 course baroque lute

By the way what is the string length of this instrument from bridge to nut?

Excellently played, I enjoy how the bass notes are timed with treble notes in this piece by Weiss.

I like it better in E minor, it's easier, and sounds better to me, but it's nice to see someone pull this off on the lute. Very nice.

I don't understand. How can a transcription of a piece in a major key (I assume you mean for guitar) end up in a minor key?
kidneykutter 2 years ago
@kidneykutter he means Bach's Bouree in E minor. He doesn't realize other composers wrote Bourees as well.

@kidneykutter
He might be referring to Bach's Bouree in E Minor for the lute.

@kidneykutter i think he must have confused it with the bach lute suite BWV 996

i think you mean The Bouree in E minor. Those two songs are totally different.

@LTmattYT I based my comment off the title, but couldn't delete it after I realised my mistake.

@MisterMcBraineater Wouldn't it be horrible if every song was in the same key signature though?
Shenanigasm 1 year ago
@MisterMcBraineater I think you're thinking of the song by Bach

Very nicely played.
Must be a pain to keep all those strings tuned, though. :)

what are the 2 strings not on the fret for? pelase!
ecknareal 2 years ago
The bottom 2 pairs of strings are on a separate bass rider extension. Actually the bottom 7 pairs are only played "open".

Thanks very much, i often wondered why no one uses the bottom strings on most things with more then 6 strings.

Awesome. I used to play a Weiss lute prelude on the classical guitar. It is great to hear it done on the real thing. Keep it coming.

Beautifully played. A major is a nasty key for the baroque lute and you pulled it off great.

Great job, especially on the ornaments.
