The Wooden book on your table is a wonderful description. Your machine seems very heavy and difficult to tune to generate various ratio drawings.
I invite you to look at my machine in which the two pendulums are hung one above the other. from PJ.

that's funny. I just bought the book myself. I'm glad someone had the patience to follow the instructions at the back. Were the pendulums swinging to a specific ratio?
