Some of the band would drop by Moes in Sydney. once in a while. Bobby would often sit alone on a stool by the window eating his Captain Capers Fish & Chips, reading the paper. To this day I really believe that the "red" album is the greatest rock and roll record to ever come out of the Maritimes. And as much as I love Minglewoods music, I still miss Enver and his harp. He made them sound different and unique. They were a very tight band right from the go.
Holly shit ,I saw Minglewood at Sackville High school in 79, Me and my brother helped the rodies pack the truck after the show! I still have the poster they gave us. good ol times.....
back in 82 was waiting for Matt to appear at a bar in Saint John..they had a pool hall in the basement..ended up shooting a game of pool with th MASTER....saw him again{i think for my 40 something time} again last summer in the paking lot of exhibition park..the man rocked once again..neighbours were in an uproar!!!hahaha..luv ya MATT!!
OMG...I remember the old Moon in Hfx. Partied there many, many nights. At the new Misty Moon, too. Saw some good bands there. Long John Baldry back in the early 80's was awesome. Oh, the memories..... :)
Takes me back to the old Misty Moon!! I remember one night I thought I was having a heart attack during ECB... but I couldn't stop dancing! lol - I was about 18 at the time??
jesus the original band was tight and polished eh.....roly platt is great on harp,Michael pickett is outstanding but noone could bring it like enver could on that harmonica.
Now this is how i was introduced to the minglewood band...i was only 7 at the time but still a huge fan...listening to Matt with Uncle ross and Melvin...and he still rocks!!!!!
Great video, thanks for posting! I wasn't introduced to Matt until I met my East Coast boyfriend in 1982 so it's a real treat to see somethng from an earlier time.
Ah, the winter of '79. Takes me back to the old Misty Moon on Gottingen Street in Halifax wasted and well after three in the morning when the band used to close down the night with this one. I was going to Dal then and saw these guys a lot that year. I think Matt and the boys were at their absolute best at that time. Great stuff, great times. Wish I could go back for one more night.

What an awsome band. Minglewood is still going as strong as ever 32 years later, and sounding as good today as he did back then.
