Hey Everybody! I have released my new album 'Unhinged' which is inspired by my all time favorite movie, The Shining, and great horror games like Resident Evil/Silent Hill etc... You can listen to all of it or download it for free on my youtube channel!
In lieu of a obtaining one of these extremely expensive steadicams I've been using the Cam Caddie Scorpion with great success in capturing smooth movements in a vast array of situations.
Lol wasnt Tuesday supposed to be the day that scared the people watching? Like when it pops up? Lol i remember it happening to me. The music was sooo tense
You sure this particular shot is Steadicam? Honestly, with the camera that low to the ground and a continuous flat surface, there really is no reason they couldn't have just pushed it around on a dolly.
@texabyte CeruleanFilms has a point you idiot! I am studying cinema in university and I cannot see how this shot cannot be done but just a dolly. But as I can see from this scene there is a mixture between steadicam and the dolly.
@slutbunwallah This entire scene was shot with either a Steadicam or a tripod. This is one of THE CLASSIC Steadicam shots. You obviously are failing your classes at your "university" if you think this was a dolly shot.
@texabyte Sure! you just said this is either a steadicam or a tripod but YET is it one of the CLASSIC steadicam shots. make up your mind mate and no I did not fail anything. I have just graduated and will continue with honors.
@jooljetkmae Me too! Although without wishing to be pedantic, all of the film (except from a couple of aerial shots) was filmed at Elstree in Hertfordshire, England.
This is a fantastic shot from a fantastic film, but I can not stop laughing at this line in the description: "Danny riding his Big Wheel." Big Wheels = instant lulz
The first steadicam shot was in Bound for Glory from 1976 executed by invetor Garret Brown who later also operated on Marathon Man as well as those scenes from Shining.
@Pempel2000 People get confused because both films came out in 1976. You're correct, though - Garrett Brown did his work on "Bound for Glory" first. "Marathon Man" was next but it was finished and RELEASED earlier, in October. "Glory" came out in December.

@slutbunwallah You clearly misunderstood my comment. The camera was attached to a Steadicam or to a tripod at different point in the scene.
texabyte 1 year ago
@texabyte So the camera is on a wheel following the character..
slutbunwallah 1 year ago
@slutbunwallah No, It's on a Steadicam for part of the scene and a tripod for another part of the scene.
texabyte 1 year ago
@texabyte Isn't steadycam attached to the character?

What a ridiculous workout that steadicam operator must have got. I wonder if there was ever any difficulty keeping things in focus.
