i love how they are simultaniously being friendly and antagonistic. how Lex is basically being his season 1-4 self, he is being a friend and supporting Clark, saying you can do this man, you have to do this man or else you and me can't spend tghe rest of our ives trying to kill each other

3:32 I wonder who he meant: Kal-El...or Lex Luthor? For a moment he seemed supportive of Clark. Big part of me wants to say he's talking about himself. Major bitch slap to the almighty. However, Lex was written so complex there's another part that believes the opposite. He WANTS his legacy, and therefore wants his greatest opponent to surpass this crisis and ensure that neverending battle to ensure he stays remembered.

@Artisan1979 That part of the dialogue is my favorite b/c I interpreted as Lex doing two things 1) Inspiring Clark to be the hero he was destined to be, shades of the friend he once was and 2) Having Clark play right into his hands... Darkseid was gonna take over the world, and Lex needs a powerful foe to destroy him so that HE can rule the world. By inspiring Clark to take command, he was securing his own survival.

there's a major PLOT HOLE in this: Lex knows Superman's secret identity. but in the comics he doesn't.

@soshiderek Nop, when lex was about to kil Tess in the finale, she releases a neurotoxin that has the effect of erasing memories, which she applied on Lex so he forgets everything. Especially Clark's real identity or even Clark at all.
