she's making it lighthearted to make it seem natural. this happens all the time in media. i think the producers had to make her promote this because Apple made them..or else they would have sued for false advertisement on Ellen's behalf, or something like that.

People are coming down on apple for not having a sense of humor, but the little spoof thing just wasn't funny. I'm no Ellen fan, but I've seen a few funny bits- this wasn't one of them. I believe Ellen is not wrong, I love her parody. However, we might have to understand that Apple is a corporation just like any other that has advertisement procedures and regulations of their products. It doesn't necessarily mean that Apple couldn't take some humor. Maybe Apple just needed to clarify things with Ellen The Generous
