I bought one and it did not work. First it was packaged with cardboard between the upper and lower plates. I had to take the thing apart to get the cardboard out. Then I could not get it screwed back down right. So , how do you remove the cardboard and how do i fix it to work. The bottom plater and weight will not stay in place.
@hunterandfisher11 first of all very nice video, it helped out a lot. secondly i had a question... to set a leader can you just cut a long strip of line and tie it to the back end of the diver so it doesnt spook the fish???
This is a quality video you did, kudos. You showed and explained the equipment then showed how to effective use it to show it works. You should send this video to Dipsy Diver for review.
@journeytheoutdoors That's an amazing idea. I will look into how I could do it. Thanks for the great comment. I subscribed and added as a friend. great channel!
your a fishing a public housing lake and those are all small fish. if u are gona do catch and release dont touch them or bring them your boat like that, sure they swim off ok but they will die later if u handle them like that.
Attaboy. Keep running the other one too though...one out of each side. Also, try setting 3 on for size. This will take your presentation further out from your boat...especially helpful if the fish are spooky in that clear water you fish. I believe the ratio is circa 1 to 3 on this setting. You'll get more fish. Promise :)
Very good job, m8. I've been looking for a vid on how to use a Dipsy for a long time now (mostly so I could explain to others what we are always talking about.) Nothing to be found. Until you. I might make my own next summer on how we run three out each side of our boat but, until then, your video is great, man. One tip: If your water is so clear there, they actually make clear colored DDs now. With a clear snubber they are considerably more stealthy. Good luck... :)
@thelurewasher thank you! and yes i recently purchased a rubber net so it doesnt harmthe slime layer. i feel really bad about not having the right equipment to do the job. Anways, im glad you noticed it in the video because the future of fishing needs to be protected. I'm glad you notice things in videos and tell the person what they are doing wrong or what they arent doing. Thanks again
Thank you soooo much..I looked this up at the last min cuz I'm taking friends out tonight..Now I will look like I know what I'm doing..:)..Not a single person at our yacht club wanted to tell me anything..lol
You'll probably find more strikes using an Opti Clear Snubber vs. that old school Luhr Jensen (we call them Bozo the Clown because of the color) snubber. Good video!

@legoman844 hmm it depends on what size dipsy you have. if you have internet, there are some tables that tell you how much line you have to let out.
