  • what is the most powerful creature in the game?

  • how do you actually place bins? u have several, but my dwarves wont actually use them..

  • @nbakell press q to view buildings and go to the stockpile you want to use bins, there see the option on the right to increase/decrease max bin usage, i think it is c and v to plus or minus it.

  • 3:48 - You know you can trust anyone with the surname "Bowelrelics" to make plenty of large piles of charcoal, possibly even a few "metalsheet shits".

  • lol, "see you later again". I was not expecting that and just starting laughing. Love your tutorials, they really got me going in the game, so much that I was able to go quite far without watching them all. However when I got to making myself an outdoor tower for defense I was trying to find your video for Fortifications, because those are important too and just as tricky to set up as walls. Though you didn't mention them in the previous video.

  • 5:15 is hilarious :) Your vids are great, im trying to learn like a madman, tough game. Havent seen any goblins yet though. Sometimes im thinking is this game too easy since few goblins can never win such huge fortress?

  • Hey guys, so i have this problem where at about the fourth level down everything is waterlogged and so i cannot get any stone. IS there any way to drain this water so i can dig further? Or perhaps build my dwarves some scuba suits?

  • @EEBLESUCKS Thats called an aquifer. DFwiki it.

  • @captnduck i did right, and one of the best options i saw was to create a screw pump yeah? Now i made one and i built it above the water problem, one z level above, and i have asked my dwarves to pump water but noone will?

Also do i have to make a channel or something from the screw pump to where i am isolating the water?

  • @EEBLESUCKS give a dwarf the pump operator labor choice and then view the pump and set it to manual pump

  • @EEBLESUCKS had that same problem, easiest way around it is to just start over if you haven't played that long yet, and choose an area with no aquifer

  • @cryosabrexXx

I was pretty much in two minds over whether i should abandon the fortress but then the goblins solved my dilemna :) Made a pretty awesome fortress with no aquifer and i am kinda confused by the new military system, have loads of armored dwarves in my army but actually getting them to form an effective battle line is beyond me.

  • @EEBLESUCKS It's an aquifier, it's hard to get through them, but it is possible, to see if there's an aquifier in your area, while you're choosing a place for your fort, right of the materials list (you know the materials that you can find in your area) there'll sometimes be these blue lines (don't know which texture pack you have), it means that there will be an aquifier, sometimes, you can find multiple aquifiers so look out!

  • In DF2010, you can find magma anywhere as long as you dig real deep, right? Do you know on approximately what z-level the magma is usually on?

  • You should get paid for this, these tutorials are amazing.

  • @Xerticle Oh id like that. If i got paid for this it would motive me to make more videos faster to. But that just isn't gonna happen.

  • Volgens mij heb ik beet. landgenoot :P

  • Good, helpful video.

  • Okay, I'll see you guys later. I'm Cap'n Duck and, uh... See you guys later, again. Later guys!

    Hehe. :)

  • Cats. Everywhere. All the time, every time.

  • @angryfaic Butcher them and eat them.

  • @maqrux So horrible! But yes, that's the way to go.

  • @angryfaic catsplosion

  • lets also build metalsmilships uhmm metalsheet shits, smith's forge! Jesus!

  • Greatest Captnduck quote ever... lmao

  • lol thank you for reminding me this. I laugh out tears every time :D

  • I see when you go to the furnaces option in the build menu there is no option for a magma smelter or forge. How do you get to where you can build them?

  • At least you didn't lose a high-level craftsman because your trader decided to take a nap instead of heading over to buy cloth. >.>

In retrospect, I probably should have gotten another dwarf to do the trade, but still!

  • err, I didnt see all of your videos yet(nearly most of them), but there is something that maybe you have forgot and is the one I'm pretty confused about: making metal alloys, and most importantly STEEL

  • Didnt cover it but just DFwiki it. Basicly its just step 1: make pig iron, step 2: combine combine pig irons into steel.

  • @captnduck most of this is on the wiki but i think the thing is it so much easier to see than read great vids btw

  • A quick way to check for that is: Z -> Stone -> Limestone -> Regeants (items needed)

  • Is there a way you can grow trees inside your fortress and have them grow back so you don't have to go outside.

  • Watch video 23

  • I haven't watched video 23 yet so I don't know what captnduck suggests, but it is possible to to wall off an area outside where trees are growing to help get you through sieges.

  • You can also check how much charcoal you have in the stocks screen.

  • dolomite dolomite dolomite!

  • Many thanks for all these, they really helped to get me addicted to DF.

  • Awesome!

Thanks for continuing these tutorials. They've helped me tremendously.

  • ah good a new video. you will prob need to designate some more trees for chopping down as the amount of beds, barrels and bins you have made will have used much of the 50 ish trees you designated near beginning and you may not have enough for next video. looking froward to part 16.

  • Oh ive cut a lot more trees offscreen. I do a lot of stuff offscreen.

  • awesome

  • cool a new video!
