And while we're at it, lets hear it for that amazing little Cornell amp combo which considering it was thrashed to within an inch of its life held it together with confidence and I thought true elegance. Quite honestly, I've heard more than a few stacks that would have come un-hinged with so much boost! Bravo!
Wow what a great sound you have captured. This video and your PG style improv videos are quite remarkable. The PAF double tones you coax from you guitar remind me of a bootleg recording I have heard of Billy Gibbons and ZZ Top from 1971-2. The song is "Just got back from Baby's". Billy is playing it PG style.
Have you heard of Cuby and the Blizzards?
Check out this YouTube video: Cuby and the Blizzards-Live 1968
I hear alot of similarites of tone. Keep up the excellent playing!
@MeKreyze1 cheers - that's a very flattering comment to say the least! Thanks for the incredible links - never heard either one before - fantastic tone and playing in both! The first one really reminds me of a version of blues deluxe I have from the truth album by jeff beck and rod stewart. The zz top one is definately very pg green in bb king mode - top stuff!!
@yugijan2196 I got turned on to it from Jimmy Page Billy Gibbons and Joe Bonamassa, it makes the strings feel a bit more slinky. This means that you can use heavier gauge strings for their tone while maintaining the feel of lighter strings, or you can still use light strings and have them really really maneuverable. I've heard about this making a difference in the transfer characteristic through the tailpiece too, which I suppose comes into play but my guitar is an Epi so I can't hear it as much
@StowBurst Cheers stow... she sure is a beauty! I love the way that even when pushed hard, it still sounds dry and Woody. Yeah, I had the Fifties magnets in bridge and neck... made a big difference in tone and feel, but I needed the money, so I put them back in my P 90s and sold them
Hi! I have heard many paf clones. I have real ones myself. But the closer I've ever heard(actually, similar) are made by a french designer. He's new so his pup's are not to expensive but it won't last long cause he's really the greatest. E mail me if you need more info.
At last, people that talk my language, when i try and describe to them them that i want to hear a woodyish sound from guitar they look at me like i am nuts lol, beautiful guitar and tone man, excellent playing too, real feeling, i bet its hard not to feel every note with a rig like that, lol.
thanks Johnny!!! This is just so killer.....what a beautiful sounding rig. Both guitar and amp just sound so great!!!!!!!! Clear and dry woody and tons of harmonic sweetness!!
@skydog46 Thanks... That's one of the things about this guitar... even when the amp is overdriven, they still seem to be able to hear the wood of the guitar

Nice sound! It's funny! You've got what I'd like, that heavy sound and I probably got your greatest dream, Real 1961 Gibson paf pickups.
On that guitar you could be really huge cause your guitar is definitly great. Thick, warmy and singing.
Your guitar is really too close of the real thing, sooner or later you'll have to put on it the real deal pickups.
