I have directx 9 (although my graphics card is capable of dx10 easily) with ultra-high settings it is pretty close to directx10. I just don't want to switch to vista or windows 7 from xp.

I do not know it, but Lord of the rings Online does not give Tolkiens world the credit it deserves.

And that is what you must give WoW, they made their own world, Lotro is just Tolkiens world. In my opinion they should have sticked with Minas Tirith and the sauron story. Much better.

BTW the whole point to this video wasnt the pretty looks (when posted HD wasnt an option). A lot of folks in game said that DX10 simply would not work and I was just showing them with the right hardware it can work fine

I am playing it on a i7 940 with 8gb of ddr3 ram and a stupid geforce 230GT 1,5gb dedicated...well i'll change it next month for an HD 4970 btw..I can play it on 1920x1080 with everything ultra high and 2x AA roughly 30-35 fps...new video card will help a lot..very nice graphics...this game is awesome..

lorcansk8: I wouldn't think LotRO would run on a machine with an integrated gfx card, no. Sorry. Actually, with the specs you gave, I'm not sure any of the major MMOs will. Your gfx card (or lack thereof) is the problem.

Just brought this game, not installed yet, on the box it says dx9, is dx 10 an option once you install and download the latest patch etc.. BTW my pc is dell quad, 3 gig ram G8800GT 512,running vista 32 hope this is enough for dx10??

wats the difference between high resolution client and the standard resolution client on ultra high?

Huge difference but it also depends on your rig. In my case using a high res, the difference between the two just screams. The the outfits have more "detail" the world etc. Standard kinda reminds me of WoW

I have tryed this game in both DX9 and DX10 not much diffrance, but DX10 shadows are way better.

That looks amazing. Your system must have cost a bomb. I think the best I could run this game at is medium/high because my graphics card was $80.

damm I love LOTRO graphics, in some instances especially lush green landscapes I have a hard time differentiating it from the real world because it looks so beautiful

What I meant to say is that it works better with SLI disabled. I get roughly 70FPS with a single Ultra running and in SLI even with the known nhancer mod I get about 40FPS.

The games just not made to play well with SLI
