  • Really don't see the big deal. Let ppl call it what they want. Toe-mato tuh-mato

  • I'm not a gun owner and have never fired a gun but i love weapons and fire arms and it even pisses me off that some stupid ass people call a magazine a clip when it obviously is a magazine.. COME ON PEOPLE GET THE TO RIGHT! THERE'S A BIG DIFFERENCE!

  • @LAYITLOOSE how do you love guns if you have never touched one

  • @rbxtreme96 May i answer this? I live in a country where fire arms are illegal, but i still like guns i like to watch these kind of video's i like to obtain a lot of information about them i love to see how they work. But i never fired one round in my life. isn't that sad its like romeo and juliet

  • @rbxtreme96 i have touched many guns, just never fired them. but i love guns just because if ind them very interesting and full of history.

and i am going to a shooting range very soon with a friend and i will actually be firing a couple soon. CAN'T WAIT !!! :)

  • and revolvers use clips still

  • to the people who are irritated by this issue, do you load bullets into your gun? you shouldnt because they are cartridges. and technically stripper clips are magazine chargers. you people disgust me. like saying you cant call tissue kleenex.

  • The M1's is a specific type of clip called the en-bloc

  • Yeah, you obviously read a magazine and watch a clip.

  • Understandable about using proper terminology, but realize that the "clip" doesn't exist anymore.

"Clip" has become a common place synonym for magazine, just like you'd "xerox" a copy of a document whether it's on a Xerox or not, and LaserJet (by HP) has come to mean all laser printing, and have become generic terms. Velcro, is owned by 3M but it's become a generic term for all "hook and loop" fastener.

Today's youth will benefit from your video for sure. Thanks for setting people straight!

  • I calling a magazine a "mag" acceptable? or is that too close to magnum? :)

  • @dtester Personally, I find that acceptable, because at least you're referring to a magazine instead of a clip, and I almost never hear a magnum called a mag. (I do, just not often) Other people call it a mag too, such as the A.I. in Rainbow Six Vegas.

  • not to be cocky i think there are 2 types of clips stripper clips that won't g ointo the gun and en-bloc clips that will go into the gun (:

  • Oh how I want the carbine

  • It a HUGE pet peeve bro!!! Thanks for this video I hope people learn from it!!!

  • U SAID M GARAND HEHEHE thats my fav gun

  • its too bad people get too techinical about gun parts, if you want to get really technical... a clip is something you hang stuff on, or attach notes to paper in non permanent fashion, or a piece of shirt film; a magazine is a Playboy, Penthouse, and or Cosmopolitan, Vogue, Time... just to name a few examples hope this clears things up for the over technical. More than it annoys people when i call a mag a clip it annoys me when someone blows me shit for no fuggin reason

  • Magazines have springs...and aren't always removeable. The mosin has a magazine.

  • Comment removed

  • What about En Bloc clips?

  • damn nice mosin nagant

  • so basically your talking about niggers they only call magazines clips. example.."hey nigga pass me a clip" or "I'm bout to pop a clip in that niggas ass"

  • I agree that it doesn't fucking matter what you call it, I mean hell It would make no difference to me if you called it that thingy that holds bullets!

  • Comment removed

  • lesson 2. the misnomer of the term "Assault rifle"

  • I know the difference, but honestly it Potato Patato. When one of my friends says "Hand me a clip" and he's pointing to a magazine, i just shrug it off.

  • @aDveebay i would give him an actually stripper clip :D

  • Clips are used for detachable magazines as well not just internal. The bottom line is a Magazine has a feeding mechanism that will mechanically feed a round into the chamber, where as a clip has no feeding mechanism of its own. Clip feeds Mag-Mag feeds chamber ;o)

  • Tomato, tomoto who gives a fuck people are whiny cunts..........magzine clip, gun rifle whatever load boom stick and commence shooting stuff have fun and pull the plug from your anuses

  • @Buriedmybrokenbones By your logic the right way for anything doesn't matter. So shit, let's just throw intelligence to the wind... fuck it. You whiny cunts calling the sky blue, fuck it; as long as it's fun we should say it's shit brown. Yes, people ARE whiny cunts, but why not say things the right way and not be an ignorant ass?

  • @robs104 Obvious that using correct terminology is the prefered method of description as to maintain continuity. It just bothers me that certain individuals are righteous and anal about this subject. If someone prefers to call a magazine a clip no big deal that's all the point I was making, kudos for trying to inform the ignorant masses. But in all reality who is to say the sky is blue this is just one mans perception we have adopted it could be shit brown.

  • Good, some knows what they are talking about. Clip vs. Magazine I always use the paper clip and a reading magazine ( Like American RIflemen). " A paper clip will fit in a magazine, but a magazine will not fit in a paper clip....Thanks.

  • It's a clip if you're in the hood. :)

  • I like this video, i get anoyed when ppl refere to an "Ak Clip" becouse i never seen or hered about one of those... Alls ppl that name one gun for another, like i have this friend who keep refering to the M40A1 as M24, and i keep telling him that is wrong, and he just sais, they are the same.... ah enogh of that. i will from now on reefer everyone who missuses the therms to this video ;)

  • the M1 clip is not a bandolier

  • The right term for the M1 is bandolier

  • At my local gun show they have a huge banner that says "Clips" I'm just like *face palm*

  • A clip is something that loads a magazine. A magazine is what holds the ammunition, ready for the gun to use...

  • @dahvisibleinvisible do you know what a bandolier is? :D

  • @weponspec1682

a bandolier is a clip or magazine carrier, isn't it? typically worn diagonally over one's shoulder to one's hip.

Very typical of Napoleonic infantry, they used two bandoliers in an "X" shape, holding two pouches, one holding the musket balls and powder in paper packs, the other for bread/rations, or more ammunition. This association between bandoliers and infantry is the reason that the NATO map marker for infantry is an X.

  • @dahvisibleinvisible Yes, and the M1 uses a "Clip" also called a bandolier.

  • @weponspec1682 Well that's just wrong. The definition of bandolier "A belt fitted with small pockets or loops for carrying cartridges and worn across the chest by soldiers." Aka The ammunition carrying system before wests with magazine pouches where common. I'm not sure if the m-56 carry system (US army standar in vietnam) could be defined as a bandolier, but you get the idea. But the clip of the m1 garand is in no way a bandoliere, sorry for you missinformation but... That's just wrong ;)

  • @Deathboy2k Go look it up. I know both of my grate grandpas were in World War 2. They were called a bandolier by pretty much everyone.

  • @weponspec1682 No, they didn't then you have missunderstood the thermology.

It's very easy. A Bandolier, is a outdated way to wear your magazines or clips if you used a clip loaded weapon, like the M1 Garand, the K98, the c96 and so on. You ask me to go check it out in wikipedia, so i challange you to find a single refferance to Bandoliere as the Clip, and not the clip carrying system, Good Luck,

  • Oh well get over it. You still know what they are saying.

  • You know what bothers me more than people mixing up clips and magazines? When Americans say "I could care less" when they mean "I couldn't care less". Clips and magazines are understandable, it's what most people are taught by television and video games, but the Americanism I mentioned is just plain retarded to anyone that understands the English language.

  • @HomoKieran and thus, our society degrades

  • magazine... clip... magazine... clip.... maga~ oh shit, I got it wrong :(

  • I can't stand when people call a magazine a clip. It's really annoying to me. Thanks for making this video. Nice video quality. I hope you have other videos. Thanks man.

  • Thanks I didn't know the difference.

  • There are ten round stripper clips for the AR mags

  • nice mosin btw... hex receiver...

  • cutlerylover you got your channel back?? congratulations

  • I care..It's so annoying when people say clip when they're talking about a magazine

  • Thank you for this. Very helpful.

  • THis was the video I subbed for.

  • he said INSERT HA!

  • What about charger? I hate it when people say clip, then they try to say it's slang and argue... I also hate it when people in movies cock the slide excessively and when the guns make all those stupid clicking noises out of nowhere...

  • @billymayer1000 Guns DO make clicking noises out of nowhere. There's a reason 1911s are nicknamed "rattle traps".

  • @HDcamel Oh really? I'm talking about loud clicking noises out of nowhere in movies that sounds like the person is cocking back the hammer, not just some slight rattling noises. Like when people put a gun in their face and it makes a loud clicking noise.

  • @billymayer1000 Well, my 1911 can get pretty loud, but I know what you're talking about and it IS stupid.

  • @HDcamel I always get let down when an awesome movie with great actors has the sounds...and especially when they talk about their magazines as clips -_-

  • @billymayer1000 It happens still... Particularly in stamped weapons with easily removable dust covers, as well as sling lugs and loops. If they're poorly made or assembled, the receiver will also creak and chatter under the weight of the furniture. :D

  • @009013M3 I definitely believe they can make noise, but to make the caliber (pun intended) of noise I am thinking about, I would have to see videos.

  • dude love the vid potato, patato, but it really needed to be said,if for no other reason then not to annoy armed people:)or maybe keep some poor smuck from looking foolish when trying to get answers from a arrogant gun salesman when buying a gun, newscasters ,prosecutors, newspaper stories,do it ad nauseam, making you think what else have they screwed up,and are misinforming us about,i can think of only 1 clip fed pistol off the top ,any ideas on that, the vid was a true PSA you working off a fine?lol

  • @nodillinger Potato written twice like the saying... I read it the same. I'm a potAAto kinda guy :D

  • @billymayer1000 gee whiz i'm so sorry i didn't know i was handing in a paper for a creative writing class,i know i should have added vowel signs ~_-?/><,.`":;^* (please choose one) etc.for the less inspired readers,my mistake.reading some of your comments i see a couple might need a red pencil;D .btw are you a gun salesman wasn't your net name that t.v. soap salesman who O.D.ed on peruvian marching dust (now for good-sport indicator net abbrv) lol

  • @nodillinger Dude, what the hell is your problem?

  • @billymayer1000 gosh i guess i misinterpreted the the potAAAto reply as snide instead of humorous must have been belaboring a misapprehension ,have you seen my lithium, could be worse like dan quayle and spell it potatoE while correcting a 3rd grader saying the kid misspelled it on national news,do you work for CBS btw what pushed the button the OD or the salesman crack.//no blood,no foul// peace, out ,call any time//for-real//

  • @nodillinger I don't know what you're rambling about. I wrote my comment to express the irony of the inability to translate the saying into simple words. It was "lost in translation", so to speak. The "potAAto" spelling was to express the long A sound. I hope that means something to you. If you really do have the social ignorance to not be able to sense compassion from your fellow man, I feel sorry for you, truly.

  • @billymayer1000 rambling ?really dude you missed it,ricocheted right by my intent was to neither insult or confound.but billy mayer sold oxi-clean on tv mid 2000s and died of a cocaine OD,hence the quiry, and the quayle reference went with your potato irony being as he did misspell it on the news when seeking republican nomination.and off the get-go i said my mistake, and lithium is prescribed for bi-polar disorder.reread it and think your being messed with, you are, peace really

  • @nodillinger "you are" ? And what about lithium? Billy mays

  • @billymayer1000 cool your jets, and check your pm,and now it's you were being messed with!and i'll have 2 of what ever your drinking.

  • People need to relax. If you said "Hey, can you hand me the clip for this Glock?" they'll know what you're talking about. If you're reviewing a gun with a magazine and call it a "clip", people know what you're talking about. Probably 99.9% of the people who complain about the "clip/magazine" terminology use the word "it's" to show possession when they write (e.g. "The Glock lost it's clip"), when it really only ever means "it is" or "it has". Gotta love how people are blind to their own errors.

  • Glad your back, we were worried

  • Again youtube.... Thanks for recommending this channel to me... That I have been subbed too since.... like forever... O.o

  • ahuhuhuhhuhuhuhuh he said loaded

  • i learned something.

  • or otherwise know as a stripper clip

  • there is no bolt in that rifle..... i dont own a mosin but... how the hell did you get those bullets out?

  • @PureBlindMan you can open the magazine by pulling a tab which will release all the bullets

  • Where can you get the clips for the mosin at?

  • Beautiful Mosin.... sorry just had to say it xD

  • its my pet pev

  • Comment removed

  • I think it also has to do with the fact that the rounds are "clipped" into a clip, whereas the entire round is completely inside a magazine

  • where can i get a mosin nagant

  • @shawn4201111 i got mine at cabela's, $150

  • so i call a pistle '"magazine a clip

  • the clip is a speed loader

  • you should be on a gun channel or etleast have one id watch u

  • huh, i did not know that thank you cutlerylover now i wont get shot in a gun range

  • @egol14 yeah man

  • anyone who is bothered by semantics needs to re-evaluate their priorities.

  • I'm not even that much of a firearm enthusiast and it bothers me to no end.

  • thank you thank you thank you thankyou i have been waiting for a good clip vs mag vid for people that dont know the diffrence

  • if i want ill call it a clip and ill call the stuff that goes inside it bullets, now if you will excuse me im going to hop into my Autocar and pilot it down to the petrol hub and fill up the canister with gas, then im gonna drive down the path to the baseball court and watch a match between the two groups, after that ill probably do some gun discharging at the local gun yard, i just need to remember to keep the tip of the gun pointed downyard that way its safe.

  • Clips load magazines, magazines load guns.

  • If you are 55 years or over, clip is a valid and accurate word to describe a magazine. In the vietnam war era and before it was common for it to be called a clip. My father who is very experienced with firearms refers to magazines as clips because thats how he was trained, and thats just what it used to be called.

  • @NRAman123 prior to vietnam, the battle rifle for the us military was the M1 Garand, and it used En-bloc Clips, after korea the M-14 rifle was adopted and it used magazines, but alot of old NCOs stuborn in their ways, continued to call them Clips and the new recruits picked up on them being refered to as Clips rather than their proper name: Magazines. It doesnt matter how old you are or when you were trained, its just one of those pop culture things that wont ever die, even if it is wrong.

  • @valhallawelcomesme I know plenty of guys, who were very well trained SEALS and special forces in Vietnam and they no doubt know what they are talking about. I think it's just a slang term that was used in combat at the time.. Magazine has become more of a tactical reference, one that is used in more sterile environments or by more current (more specifically trained) forces. But if you are not over 55 and you are saying clip.. you are wrong.

  • its funny i call a magazine clip every once and awhile.lol and i call rounds bullets to. if you get bothered by it piss off. anyways i dont care either.

  • Wow now my life is compete. LOL THanks good vid. lol

  • That's one sexy Mosin Nagant.

  • revolvers

  • THANK YOU!!!!!!!!!

  • he is a weapon expert but he of all people shud know mosin nagant is a french-russian rifle which means it shud b sed in a french accent :P

  • Vise virsa is a stupid word :{(

  • @MrZachpow

    ._.

  • What the hell. I've never heard anyone call a mag a clip or vice versa...

Maybe I just don't watch enough tv. haha

  • i only say magazine... clip just sounds stupid and its not really helpful anymore

  • i still give a shit lol

  • i feel like an ass now

  • clip = noobies

  • We used clips to load our M-16 magazines in basic training in 1976...

While he was at it he should have demonstrated what lock and load means...

  • why do you have so much guns? are those yours? or what?

  • @csrchamp1 Because we live in the U.S. and there are criminals we have to protect ourselves from.

  • @AmericaStandsStrong1 Ok, thank you for the response. But my point is, that I see so much, so much guns from "cutlerylover" and it make me think like if he was showing them for a store or something like that, and that-s why I asked him. In Mexico, AK47 guns are just legaly abailable for the army you know?, so That.s another reason I was a little confused about all this, but now I think they-re legal, right? in the US (the ak47)

  • @csrchamp1 Yes in the U.S. AK-47s are legal, some states have different restrictions on what kind of features firearms like that can have. All guns are legal, just some of them have restrictions basically.

  • Woah, I mean, I was just watching L4D2 videos (Nick and his tits) and this was in the "Suggestions". Epic.

  • Why do people make a big fuss about this?

  • @roman11777 Because there is a difference. Words actually have a meaning...

  • for all intents and purposes, clips load magazines.

  • for all intents and purposes, clips load magazines.

  • This needs to go on tv, on every fucking channel, right fucking now.

  • @LazerChicklets and in the beginning of every fucking videogame

  • @fkhan96

Yeah but just the ones with guns.

I don't think the people that play cooking mama give a shit.

  • @LazerChicklets true, true (stupid cod fanboys)

  • @fkhan96

I can't wait to play Gears 3 and BF3. wbu?

  • @LazerChicklets bf3 and mw3 lol

  • what are you talking about a magazine is a book and a clip is a part of a movie =P

  • Clips load mags, mags load the rifle.

  • @AmericaStandsStrong1 Clips load bullets. Clips load rifle

  • @David8Parkour Nope, wrong. Sorry.

  • @AmericaStandsStrong1 Alright man. Go on playing COD. But leave me alone.

  • @David8Parkour Don't play COD never have. It's a fact, clips load cartridges into the magazines, and then the magazine loads the firearm. How do you not understand?

  • @AmericaStandsStrong1 i said that. The clip is basically in a mag, and the clip is loading it. Lets please end it here cuz I really don't feel like fighting right now I have to make like 4 logos (and i'm glad to hear you don't play COD that would have been bad) so yea. You were right, ;ets end it here.

  • @TheGarnest why for making a joke damn

  • Lol my airoft instruction manual calls the mag a clip XD

  • I just call them magic bullet thingys.

  • @joshuaps3kid i call it slight of hand :P

  • The clips that are inserted fully into the magazine are called en-bloc clips. Examples of guns using these are the M1 Garand and the Steyr M1895.

  • Leberals know nothing about firearms, liberals prodominately makes films, therefore you get terminology fouls.

  • I am one of those people. I am literally always correcting my friends. Like if they say "hey pass me that clip." i'll look around and say "i dont see any clips. what are you talking about?"

  • @100silverpizza bro nwa and eazy e didnt coin a term thats been used ( or missused rather), since the early 1900's (since the advent of magazine loaded handguns).don mean to nit pick but hate seein those so called artists get more credit, they already hav enough , and its completely un-earned haha

  • Whenever my friends say "clip", I would stop and stare at them and say "What?" them they correct them selves accordingly to "Sorry, magazine" XD

  • People call it Clip because its easier to say than ma-ga-zeen.

  • @PanzarMetal not true.

  • @PanzarMetal u could just say mag

  • @billybobjimmyjobjr Is there a lot of people understaning the gun term MAG ?

  • @PanzarMetal you could just say mag

  • I clipped an article from a magazine about gun clips and magazines but a stripper borrowed it.

  • Where did you get the stripper clip for the 91-30?

  • Another difference is a magazine holds the cartridge AND feeds it using the internal spring. A clip just holds the cartridges in place.

  • this reminds me of a couple days ago when this country kid was trying to talk about guns to his other country friends, i was at the table next to him and i heard him say that no matter who the person was he could name more guns and know all the parts to each one, so i turned around mad since i hate cocky people and asked him to name more than me( i don't know a whole lot just know how to fire and maintain) and he failed miserably mostly because all the guns he named were from call of duty ......

  • LOL thank you! google doesnt always work, i get all these details that i gave up on reading it. so clips r like speed loader...right? so can u call speed loader for revolver clip too?

  • For those of you who are confused of what a cartridge is, a cartridge is basically a name for a bullet that hasn't been fired yet. It's the shell and the bullet put together. When you fire it, the bullet fires and the shell is excreted from the firearm and it is no longer a cartridge.

So a clip loads cartridges into a magazine. lol

  • You might not think it matters... And it really doesn't... But keep calling things by the wrong name and supposedly insignificant things like that and you will end up dead

  • LOL 26 people who watched this video must call them Clips. They got their feelers hurt.

  • It's drives me INSANE when people call Magazines, "CLIPS" and think they know all about firearms. Geeezz. Thanks for pointing this out to all the numbnuts out there.

  • @100silverpizza having a hobby has nothing to do with not having friends or having a small dick, thats just made up, its a hobbyor something that people like to do, some people collect stamps, some people collect coins, some people collect knives, some people collect guns, some people collect cars, but that doesnt have anything to do with what you mentioned, so if someone has a hobby they have no life?

  • makes sense :)

  • @100silverpizza I pointed to the internal box magazine its not the reciever its attacked to it

  • @cutlerylover it's not "attacked" to anything xD

  • BLACK OPS FAILED TO GET THIS MESSAGE
