  • it is just " part 1" ? or there is a second one ?

  • im so happy i found this... thank you men,

  • Will this straighten the alignment of your back? Even if you have bad scoliosis?

  • @iamLurkn somewhat. you need to check with your doctor and they might give you some side crunches or something else ( cant remember the name, but you stand with your back against the wall, sliding your arms up and down on the wall..) or at least thats what they did for me.

    God bless.

  • Mmmmm **droool

  • I'm pretty young and have good posture, but I do heavy work and this was excellent for an aching back/shoulders. Just remember to stretch before and after to avoid injury ppl :) Easy to remember and very effective, Thanks a lot !

  • Should there be rest time in between these sets of stretches?

  • @MCstrickG6 If so, how much?

  • Wow feels great, definitely doing this some more. The L one really gets a good burn!

  • Hi Busy guys! You should try out Bellydance :)

  • can you adopt me?

  • isnt better fix the way the person walk because in the end i think its all about pressure in the spine, for example in the video the guy is pushing pression against the spine, but that can b possible same as walking? maybe im wrong but same thing can be felt... here and there

  • Do we perform all those exercises or can we just do one per day ?

  • k so im slowly adjusting my posture i had a really bad "chin poke" or forward head posture, anyways the closer i get to a good posture the more uncomfortable it is to breathe, swallow etc.. will this dissipate over time or have i f*cked myself through years of atrocious posture? any chiropractor ive been to has NOT helped (your video has) thanks !!

  • @inkdNdN

it will get better as your organs have adjusted to this position.

  • Goof

  • @fitandbusydad these exercisies help on the problem of kyphosis?

  • First thing i noticed was the penn st

  • Women, use a pillow. may help somewhat.

  • I love this! will try thnx!

  • >2011

    >listening to random asians on the internet who dont know jackshit about anything

    ISHYGDDT

  • @churde

    Idiot.

  • Does this work for girls?

  • @Sunrise2336 yes sweetheart

  • A little excersize. Nice.

Oh excuse me. I meant "WYTL".

  • How important is this to do on the floor?? I'd like to do it standing.

  • what about breathing in this exercise? (when to inhale and exhale?)

  • After doing this my back muscles got tight and a burn like if you did high reps to get a pump is that normal?

  • should you do this everyday or rest one day in between?

  • thanks a lot! this really helps!!! i can feel the difference in my posture already i feel so much better and more energetic thank you!!!!

  • My desk turtle back feels a lot better! Thanks! I'm also an inch taller now! (From standing up straight)

  • These work, cheers for taking the time out to show us.

  • tnx

  • thank you!!

  • Hi, Thanks for posting this video. I am going to try out your suggestions for a few weeks. I am a desk guy (video editor) and I have been getting way to many headache and my posture is causing me a lot of problems. I even feel as though I can't do anything these days without feeling my head weighs a ton! Do you have any other suggested videos? Thanks Again

  • Thanks :-D

  • Saw this video in the sidebar and the title interested me, I have bad posture and horrible back pain because of it. But then I started watching the video and cringed the whole time. This is definitely just for dudes and small breasted women, I'd be giving myself a mammogram if I attempted this.

  • @heatherface i don't see why you couldn't do this standing up so long as you create the tension in your back

  • Wou it really helps!!

  • i ll remember it by YTWL routine .

thx man. feels really gud even just after doing it for the first time.

  • so to comfirm this exercise is only good to cure round shoulders (which is due to overactive and tight pecs, and underactive and weak traps)?

is it recommended to sort out the excess curvce in the thoracic vertebrae (kyphosis) before attempting this exercise?

  • Great advice, good video

  • If you have scoliosis or kyphosis it is not recommended that you perform the prone exercise , known in yoga as the cobra. This can cause damage to a deformed spine. Please can you note this in the description

  • @thginkcam thanks for telling me, i have postural kyphosis and was looking at ways to improve my posture and was just about to do these exercises. it would have sucked to hurt my spine even more.

  • @fitandbusydad GREAT VIDEO! HELPS ALOT! THANKS. (-;

  • Can this help if you have like a little hunch back by bad posture?

  • thx felt better after the first day

  • This could also help with posture while planking.

  • @PatrickWard4 LMAOOO WOW!

  • i am 13 I've recently developed bad posture and i think i have a mild case of kyphosis my spine from the side is like an S. i can straighten it but still in an S shape and my chest sticks out a lot. do you think exercises will fix it. thnx

  • @Cheesefox777

You should go see the doctor or therapist.

  • cant hear you dude, on a laptop dont have a full bose system hooked up

  • my spine isnt straight it goes towards the left then back in ? How do i cure this

  • @TheiTouchGuys You probaly have scoliosis, if it hurts you would probaly want to see a doctor, if it doesn't cause pain then it's your decision if you should see your doctor. And i'm pretty sure surgery would be required to fix it but i'm not doctor so don't get freaked out by my post.

  • @TheiTouchGuys see a doctor asap. can only be cured with an operation

  • @TheiTouchGuys U should really see a doctor my gf had scoliosis and she just recently got surgery

  • does this workout your back or just straighten it?

  • Im 16, almost 17 and I can notice my back is curving.. specially my shoulders.. they are getting bent.. my father is like that too.. so It could be someone genetic.. but do you think that by just doing excercises like these i can straighten my back perfectl? Also I lift weights but only to work on my arms.. could that be in anyway related ?

  • @Om0plata1 You might be doing the excersize wrong this should help cnt hurt to try, and doing arm workouts wrong or only can put strain on ur upper body bending u down

  • will this straighten my back out, i have kind of a curved back, not to bad though, A touch of scoliosis. I want to improve my posture and straighten my back out if I can.

  • These exercises look easy while he's doing them... Man was I in for a surprise. My upper back is sadly really weak. Nothing that a bit of time and dedication won't fix.

  • is there any reason that we have to do a YTWL sequence? can we do only YYYY or TTTT or WWWW...please advise

  • Comment removed

  • @tealeh2 I'm pretty sure that the different letters target different areas.

  • @tealeh2 working the back muscles from different angles(YTWL) will result in better&faster results

  • just staring at his ass the whole time.. lol. :P

  • Works like a charm, man.

  • I liked this, and I try to keep in shape too, and that iis agood way. Thanks

  • I just now used this technique for the first time. I did about five reps each. It really works.

    Thank you.

  • lol

    no likes.

    gonna try

  • Godbless you i have a curved back Hunched and all i see is positive feedback Godbless you1

  • well waddayaknow....IT WORKS O: <3

  • Hello :) My shoulder blades started sticking out at the age of 13 because I used the computer alot and played alot of video games. Now my shoulder blades are like always sticking out but this is not genetic as I got these two peaks at the back because of the way I sat, will your exercises help? I play football and they are really bad for my image so reply asap :)

  • Im 14. After doing this my shoulders leveled out a little

  • man I'm gonna do this all the time i hope it works tired of the hunch back

    thank you

  • My shoulder blades are always sticking out and I've had a hunchback for as long as I can remember I'm 15 know. But is there anyway to retract the shoulder blades???

  • Comment removed

  • WHAT MAGIC IS THIS? I used to work out a lot but the past two years I haven't worked out much and my gut started popping out and I looked a little scrawnier, and immediately after I did this I LOOKED THE SAME AS I DID 2 YEARS AGO.

  • man - I only did 3 or 4 of each .. i dont think I'll ever be able to slouch again. What have you done to me!

  • ahh..that feels awesome! as soon as i got up my back felt straighter and i felt taller!

  • wow first video ive ever watched without dislikes, nice

  • @10hadji - thanks for the comments! to clarify, perform each exercise for 8-12 reps for 2 -3 sets. Make sure to keep your eyes looking at the floor so that your head doesn't rise. Your head should be in the neutral position the whole time. I hope that helps!

  • @fitandbusydad thank very much bro ill try that

  • @fitandbusydad 2-3 sets aweek ?

  • @fitandbusydad thanks! any good way to relax the muscles afterwards?

  • @fitandbusydad

That's insane. It's hard enough for me to do 8 reps of one exercise. I'll keep it slow for now.

  • @fitandbusydad i got kyphosis this might help?

  • @fitandbusydad

Is the chin supposed to touch the floor?

  • so they mean by a 2 -3 sets to do 8 reps 2 times ????

  • has this worked to any one ?

  • To those asking about correction of forward head posture, these exercise don't address fhp specifically based on a couple other videos I've seen (look for HolisticSam's videos). They definitely look like something you can do along with the exercises that help to correct fhp though. Not a professional response, but if you look at the fhp videos from reputable sources you'll see some very specific movements that are recommended.

  • hi can someone tell me if this is only for a straight back? or does it fix rounded shoulders and forward head posture?

  • Will this correct neck/head posture..?

  • timely information

  • no doubt .it is really helpful exercise for bad posture, thanks for upload.

it is very difficult in the beginning but with time it becomes easy

  • no doubt .it is really helpful exercise for bad posture, thanks for upload

  • at the end it says 2-3 sets ...for wat 2 to 3 sets a day a week or .. i dont get it ?

  • i grew 3 inches doing this omg lol

  • This is really good. I'm gonna start doing this every day for now on. Thanks so much!

  • YEE PENN STATE

  • Can you do this is your a girl?

  • I want to give people a heads up here.

While these stretches are great in a lot of ways, if you have physical curvature, (kyphosis) these stretches will place A LOT of stress on your lower back.

Please do them with caution, the presenter in this video has a healthy spine, with a curved spine of 35 degrees or more there will be WAY more pressure on your lower back. Get a pinched sciatic nerve and you will be crying in pain.

    Other than that, nice video.

  • @svt11111

Also, I want to be clear I'm talking about people diagnosed with kyphosis, (not talking about poor posture because of bad habits).

Because your spine is curved forward, these exercises must be done with extreme caution. When you put your arms out, and go backwards 10X more pressure is placed on your lower back than someone with a healthy spine.

To keep it simple, never force it. I see a lot of "self help" videos that can cause a lot of damage to people with physical conditions.

  • @svt11111 can kyphosis be fixed from this exercise

  • @10hadji I cannot answer that question without viewing your x-ray. Postural kyphosis can be fixed with various exercises and stretches. However, structural kyphosis known as, scheuermann's disease, cannot be fixed without surgery.

This is due to the wedging of the bones in the spine. In essence the spine is locked in that position regardless of exercises or stretches.

I suggest you get a proper diagnosis of your condition. These videos can be dangerous without knowing your actual condition

  • u a life saver lo i so needed this!!!! thnks for the info!!!!

  • Thank you sir!

  • these not only helped me regain correct posture but helped with my headaches too.....thank you....I subbed!

  • say man u helped me out alot i woke up with a sore back this morning and i also have a lil hunchbac but after these stretches im standin str8 tall like a light poll!!! THANKS

  • after 4 years of only push ups, im starting to become more noticeing of my body and ive just recently noticed my posture. I really hope this works :)

  • Couldn't you just do these standing up? If you look in the 'suggestions' sidebar, the lady with the "chest pop" is basically what I'm talking about. I guess if you do these on the floor first a little while, it makes it easier to do it standing as well.

  • @Xyberfaust

While standing these exercises would be very easy. On your stomach it`s a completely different story.

  • I've just slouched a lot as a kid and my posture is god awful. My friend actually pointed out that i stick my butt out as well so my entire body is strange in a way although you would never see it typically other than my shoulders. Would this exercise really help that? and do you have any other tips to train my body to stand correctly? thanks in advance

  • I have rounded shoulders, does this help fix my problem?

  • @thismideng

Yep, also try fitness training at the gym.

  • @thismideng a good way to fix your rounded shoulders is to either go to the gym or buy a set of dumbells light to medium weight and perform shoulder exercises, the reason you have rounded shoulders is because over time your shoulders have gotten weaker by not working them. Incorporate neck and back exercises as well, also look up the yoga pose called the mountain google it and it will tell you all you need to know hope this helps good luck!

  • This is very good for loosening & stretching the pectoralis muscles at the front, does it also strengthen the trapezious at the back? if so its ideal for correcting rounded shoulders which cause upper back pain. thanks for these exercises.

  • This works my back better than the typcial gymexercises does! That explains why i never developed any backmuscles at the gym.

  • did this one time and it really helped, i always slouch and get made fun of it quite often, but i started using this tecnique and it really helped

  • yo i play guitar wich really messes with my back,

I have a question, when u go up then down, do u touch the floor? or just go down n stay elevated?

  • DAMN! I tryed this once and I feel good already! THANKYOU!

  • i hope this helps...im 6ft 2 in and i always slouch because im too tall to reach the sink and other stuff like regular short people lol

  • okay i just feel like i did reverse crunches, my muscles on my back r burning, and it does feel a little easier to hold my head up, did i do it right?

  • thanks a lot

i just did it right now and ive felt the improvement already

  • my head is forward posture" will this help my neck go back straight

  • @MRGAMERNEWS does your head and neck stick out like a turtle?

    you might have kyphosis.

  • @MRGAMERNEWS It will. keeping your chest out and shoulders back will eliminate the head forward posture.

  • @fifagutten ok thanks 4 the help

  • been doing it for a little over a week, can already feel the difference, thanks for posting.

  • these exercises aren't enough I feel no tension around my shoulder blades are their anymore upper back exercises than are a little more intense?

  • @00dev

If you're not feeling tension or "loading" around your shoulder blades try using dumbbells (starting light & progressing heavier), while lying face down on a weight bench or a swiss ball (though I'm less a fan of these) in order to improve your range of motion (ROM). You might also look into some dynamic joint mobility drills like Z-Health for your shoulders, thoracic spine & neck or possibly even your hips.

  • @CourtWing

any videos on youtube that explain what you are mentioning?

not sure I completely understand this Z-Health you spoke about

    thx

  • I have a very horrible posture......to be more specific a "head forward posture" hope this helps.......

  • this worked the first time i tried it

    thx alot

  • Wow! This actually worked the first time I tried it. Thanks a lot.

  • very usefull thnz

  • This doesn't help cure lordosis / swayback does it?

  • great video... straight to the point. i've been having posture issues do to the fact of working out my chest too much and not enough of my back. will continue to do this daily

  • im a young male...no back problems but horrible posture. i have only done this for 2 days and already feel a difference. hits the spot perfect. thanks for the video!!

  • @jk71687

It's been six month since you've posted the comment.......so, does it work? I mean the exercise.........

  • @jk71687 did it work for you >

  • YTWL... I have posture problems and this really helps. Thx

  • Can women use these exercises as well?

  • Of course!

  • @hellokittymaxx

Yeah, of course! Go for it ;-)!

  • Standing straight makes you look extremely confident. This is a great video, thanks.

  • Thanks for the tip, it's definitely important to keep your back straight as girls tend to go for some one who stands tall and straight rather than some one who looks like they want to crawl in their shell

  • @andriy555 hahahah then i am the turtle guy
