  • alright Chris I spose its not the *ONLY* way, but its the one for me anyhow.

  • sweet i definitely will check it out. wonder if they hire apprentices.

  • Very nice video! What fun to see them making another item. We were just there on Aug.13, 09. See my video for the making of another piece: search Blenko Glass Factory. This is the best glass factory I have seen to date (3rd one). I love how you can see everything they are doing from first step to last!

  • I took a look and left a message. Your video is excellent, very entertaining to watch.

  • Thanks so much for your comments! Your video is great as well! and I enjoyed seeing them making a different item. You did a good job. Loved the zooming. Have to do more of that next time myself!!

  • so amazingly quiet in there.

  • Actually, there was a constant roar from the furnace, loud enough that it drowned out any conversation more than a dozen feet away. However, people were mostly just doing their jobs and not talking much when I was there.

  • yeah the furnace we use at school puts out about 80 decibels, but we're a pretty lively bunch at school, those guys are just quietly competent pros. I'm jealous though, whatever batch they're using stays pliable WAY longer than what we put in our furnace.

  • I don't really know anything about the process or materials they use... it was just so interesting watching them do this. I'd love to go back and make a better video, especially if I could get access to the factory floor and do an interview or two.

    Anyway, thanks for the comments!

  • well that was a pretty awesome video nonetheless. For glassblowers the only real way to consistently make money is to do production stuff, so its always great to see :)

  • Thanks... you're very kind to say that.

  • anytime man. If you ever do get a chance to go back there lemme know, I'm not too far from there (pennsylvania) I'd be happy to lug camera gear around for the chance to get in that place. :)

  • @Dierwolf2000 no way! i know so many people who don't do production and make a living.

  • Check out my video just posted. We were there Aug 13, 2009. You can see them making another item. I am definitely going back there!! I love how you have such a great view of every step of the process!

  • check out that awesome mullet at 1:55!!!
