I'm not in accord with this Top 10. There are musics which i agree (Batman, Kid Icarus), but you forgot Duck Tales (Moon level), Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles (the "overcity" theme), Faxanadu (Mantra, melancholic theme), and the best ones for me, Ninja Gaiden (The masked devil, but all the soundtrack is awesome) and Bloody Tears for Simon's Quest (instead of Silence of the daylight, the music you named Town theme)

One thing that always caught my attention in your countdown, was the Friday the 13th's Cabin theme. In any other video you find on Youtube with this theme, none of them have the heartbeats that play harmony.

So I keep going back to this video and just scrolling back to listen to this version, because it has all the sounds that make it scary as hell

The cabin theme from Friday the 13th is an excellent selection. It's extremely disturbing and keeps you on end (even when Jason isn't in the cabin)! Definitely sets the atmosphere for the game.

Sunsoft, Capcom and Konami had some of the best music for the NES, Sunsoft - Journey to Silius, Batman and Super Spy Hunter have such amazing soundtracks and as for Capcom we all know the Megaman series specially MM2, Little Nemo, Chip N' Dale, Ducktales, and Konami with the unforgettable Castlevania series, Contra and the list goes on, oh man the golden age of videogame sountracks (8 and 16 bits)

Other good ones are Mega Man 3's title (which I would take over 2's), Golgo 13, Wizards & Warriors 1 and 2...but the NES has so many games and so many of them with at least one or two killer songs. This is a very nice list all in all, one that I can appreciate at least.

Hard as all hell, but fantastic game. What I loved is whenever you beat the boss, you ended up having tea with them. :)

Having selected Kid Icarus' Underworld Theme made this video full of glorious win from the outset! The rest of the list just continued to impress!

It IS weird that Batman's first level theme sort of sounds like it wouldn't be out of place in a Castlevania title though. Very cool!

TBB have you ever thought of making music on an 8-bit music program? It gives you the option of Sharps and Flats and actual chords as well.

Also, try Mario Paint composer. It's the same as Mario Paint, but you can make longer songs with 5 layers of of notes (you can also overlap notes) AND press shift+mouse click for sharps and ctrl+mouse click for flats. Can't imagine the amazing stuff you'll come up with after seeing what you can do only using only white key notes.
