  • Your services are invaluable. You are easily teaching us how to play the best notes for an electric piano, ever. Simply amazing.

  • @MercifulThoughts: thank you so much! I am always glad, when my videos can be helpful!

  • Thanks a bunch, me and my buddies are getting a band together and we picked this as our first cover

    Nice work

  • Good, now all I need to do is learn how to play the piano...

  • Dude, you rock! I just got hooked on Boston when I heard their Solos on keyboard and organ, and i've been playing for almost six years. but could you plz do a tutorial for the organ solo in hitch a ride that would be so amazing!!!

  • I have the same keyboard, great sounds. Thank you for the tutorial.

  • Hi. Many many thanks. I think I got it on the piano. Just need a little more practice and then try it on the organ. Great lesson. To the point. Regards from Quito, Ecuador. Took me a couple of months to master but I surprised myself!

  • Thank you for this! I always dreamed of playing this part as a kid---now, with your teaching, I can as an adult!

......so....just to be clear for me.....is this in Bb or A#? As a guitar player, I'd guess Bb, but I could be way wrong...

  • @9notes22frets Technically there is no A# key, only Bb. Their the same note. Great tutorial.

  • why dont u show the left hand >:(

  • why dont u show the left habd >:(

  • please put the tablatures in the description because this is useless i cant see half the notes hes playing and it goes too fast to write down.

  • i think he holds the high note on the octave of the left hand while running down the scale?

  • he holds the octave with the left (not just one note); hold the high A during run-down I think?

  • You play so smooth dude, great fingers! :D

  • @Wolfer202 "great fingers" lol.

  • Thanks for posting this. I created a Reason version of this that people can play along with on guitar. Sort of like karaoke for guitar. Your video was very helpful in creating this. If you want to hear the final product, type in karaoke foreplay on the search function. Thanks again.

  • hey don't listen to people who say you're going to fast. It's a video for goodness sake. you can play it as many times as you want. haha

  • Great tutorial. Thanks for posting. Is anyone else trying this on a Korg X-50? I can't seem to get the sound right.

  • Nice video - on the last descending triplet demo Bbm - Ab when you play it up to speed you played Ab instead of Bb on the Bbm...

  • also like to add some of the tutuorials that i like best are when the maker says what note he is hitting when he hits it

  • Great tutorial i really like boston, which brings me to my question, do you think you could learn how to play Smokin' by Boston and post a tutorial ?

  • can you write like a tab for it for me please? I would much much apreciate it, im hoping to cover the keyboard, and guitar and vox for it.

  • could you possibly tab this please. i know it's a pain, but i can't read sheet music, i need tabs for my guitar and drumming too. vox are easy lol. Keep up the good work, im hoping to cover this song soon if i can write it without confusing myself.

  • i use a draw bar organ sound to do this song

  • What tones are you using for your keyboard?

  • As my uncle would say, "Most Excellent!"

  • Awesome job! I learned this in the wrong key... :-/ (A-minor)... Common mistake I'm guessing. THANK you!

  • i like it but ur going a little to fast on the demo for the end scale

  • you think so? i play it twice, first slow and then fast, just to show how it sounds when you play it fluently!

  • i know but im saying that i dont think your playing slow enough on the slow part.

  • nice thanks so much... can you make just a vid on that whole song like without stoping cause i just want to hear want to sounds like fully..if you could thanks!

  • i already made this video, check my profile: Foreplay (Boston) "in memoria" Brad Delp! thanks for the comment ... keep rockin´

  • Well done! I've been playing it wrong for 25 years. You have an amazing ear. BTW what patch is that on the Trinity?

  • first of all, thanx for the comment! i hope you will now play it correctly for the next 25 years :))) ! i did not use a Trinity Patch for the video, i used the B4 plugin by Native Instruments! keep rockin´ best regards from Brazil!

  • @rushyeskansas I love your user name. Btw i saw Rush 11th row and center for their snakes and arrows tour in 2008

  • i dont think he hear it out .... he just have guitar pro , im right?

  • not 100% right .. the first part i learned really by ear, that was already 15 years ago. now when i started playing keyboards again 3 years ago) i used a midi but i changed it , because the midi wasn´t correct for my ear.

  • Does anyone know where I can get the sheet music for this song?

  • thanks you did really help me like everyone else but i saw a guy do it with just white keys how he do that?

  • obviously he do it wrong

    ;)

  • YOu have no idea how much i wanted to learn this... I play guitar very well and never touched a keyboard before... when i finally decided to attempt this your video helped a ton! THANKS A TON! -andrique

  • thanks a lot man you really helped me learn this

  • Thank you so much for this! I'm sending you good karma vibes right now, this is a huge help!

  • man... you just save me HOURS of farting around trying to learn this.. THANK YOU!! do you have Deep Purple's "Lazy" and/or the solo in Carry on Wayward Son, by kansas..

  • I totally second this request. I've been looking for a tutorial for "Lazy" by deep purple for MONTHS. If anyone knows how please upload a tutorial!!

  • Check out the version on my page!!!

  • Thanks for the link to the video.

I never saw it live. I dropped the needle on the album about a thousand times when I learned it :)

Can't believe the speed he plays at. I can't get there without a few crash & burns-

Always good to watch multi-instrumentalist's approach to other instruments ie: guitar players on keyboard. I've learned a few tricks off the beaten path that way.

  • Very close to what I hacked out years ago playing in a bar band. I haven't confirmed with a Boston video yet (is there a good one?)

but the first lick falls under 5 fingers comfortably (4 1 4 5 2 3). The descending lick

stays on triads to the end- last 2 should be Db Bb F / C Ab Eb-

Buddy of mine swears he saw it played live (Scholz?) played left handed. Find it hard to believe........

  • was never my intend to really play it exactly like Mr. Scholz. but now that you were speaking about, i made some research here in youtube and i found a video where you can see a bit better, how he is playing. and he is not using 5 fingers for the intro lick. of course its possible to play it with 5 but i think it is rolling better with 4! he is not playing any triads with the left by the way. thanx for the comment. regards from Brazil

  • This song shouldn't have been an intro! Boston could have done so much more with it. Been wanting to learn this for a while though. This helps a lot as I'm not much for reading sheet music. I took lessons when I was young, but I'd always throw the book aside an make up my own stuff or try to pick out songs I already knew. My chops are a bit weak for Foreplay but I'm working hard! Thanks!

  • Quite Good, good angle, right speed, congratulations, you can make anybody learn the 4 parts it in shot time.. Thanks Men

    ROCK & ROLL.....

  • Dude, that's really awesome. I have that song on my iPod and I could never pick out the crazy organ solo by ear. Thank you so much! 3 thumbs up.

  • shit, it sounds a lot harder during the song but its actually pretty easy. thanks for the vid anyhow.

  • good one . u play really nice

  • thank you so much, this is a really helpful video, and your playing skills are great!!!

  • the last part of part 1 is hard for me. what can i do to play it faster with more accuracy?

  • hey man, you won´t believe, but this part is the hardest of the entire song, also for me! when you can crack this one, you won´t have problems to play the rest. try the following:

each triplet discribes a chord. first don´t play the single notes of the triplet, play the chord sequence to get a feeling for the harmonies. then play step by step first triplet, first + second, first + second + third and so on, until you can play all 8 triplets accurately together! hope you undestood my poor english!

  • i got it! time for pt 2.

  • i learned this part completely different somehow. not ridiculously different, but still

  • dude this helped me out so much thanks for posting it really good job man i appreciate it!

  • that was one of the best tutorials for this song i have ever seen

  • Cool.

    C C# F C# D# G# Repeating...

Then the rest is going down to an octave lower?

  • Well, I've mastered this at about double time, time for part 2, lol

  • awesome

  • kool!

  • i've needed this for a while... thanks!

  • It was good, but certain parts (especially the end) were a bit too fast, and I couldn't see the keys that you were pressing.

  • Man, thanx for shering, you did a very good work

  • thanx dude! you are welcome!

  • whoah that is really good

  • thanx man, very kind!

  • Finally, that was the part that i was waiting for! good work!

  • FANTASTIC!!! When are part 3 and 4 coming??
