what's the difference between mandarin and kantoese?

i heard that they are spoken differently but that's all i've heard.

can you tell me what all the differences are?

@runnybabbit12 Chinese and cantonese is ALMOST the same. The only difference is how you pronouce the words

@runnybabbit12 Mandarin is easier to speak in and learn because they have ping ying , Cantonese you just say it and is harder because theirs no ping ying . Is what my Chinese school teacher said. Cantonese is common use in America and other places etc. Is not much of a differences just different way of saying it same grammar same of everything . I'm not sure but my scores in Chinese school were pretty bad lol..

@runnybabbit12 I know Cantonese has more tones. I am not sure how many, but I have a friend who speaks Mandarin who is unwilling to learn Cantonese because he thinks it would be too hard.
