  • SICK!!!!!!!

  • DOES ANYONE KNOW HOW TO MAKE THIS SOUND IN FL STUDIO

  • @TerminallyILLprod14 I used FL for a long time and trust me you cant unless you sample this exact sound. FL is good to start with but its not expansive for shit man

  • Altho I think dubstep has lost its spark, this was a great How to video. Cheers!

  • Are the online classes free?

  • Totally no part 2 for reason. Is there anyone who will show us how to make real dubstep?

  • @theunexpected6 its a program called steam silly

  • I have a question what program is this

  • Comment removed

  • @theunexpected6 Propelerhead's Reason 5

  • @theunexpected6 ...

How to Make a Dubstep Whomp Bass with Reason ... I guess Reason? -_-'

  • Hey Dude, i've done exactly what you said, but absolutely no sound comes out. I have my soundcard ste and everything. i only just received program in the mail today and as soon as i installed it i began your tutorial, so i havn't stuffed around with any settings. The demo sound plays just fine. Its annoying because it makes no sense.

  • @DenePalmersDubstep befor you do anything make sure theres a mixer in the reason programe.. thats where the sound comes from

  • @TutTut2007 but I'm pretty sure a mixer is automatically added when you start a new project.

  • @DenePalmersDubstep yeah it is but on mine id dont.. i have to add it my self i dno y.. i think i changed it by accident.. but oh well

  • @DenePalmersDubstep you have to create a miver to hear the sounds. peace

  • What program is that you have the synthesisers in????

  • @PivotGuardianDZ

    combinator

  • is there any dub spot in Canada? because there should be sometime

  • great tutorial!

    well explained

  • Maschine & Massive are so much better these days. That's what I've used to make my first two tracks and I love the combo.

  • Wow what is that tune at the end? Sounds proper.

  • Please could you send the link to part two because i can not find it

  • step by step instructions to recreate a patch are ok, but not a tutorial. Why not just make the patch available for download? If you want to be a better instructor I suggest using video to explain why you're making these decisions and how they shape the sound. On the amp envelope (a basic component of synths and included in many reason devices) just set the sustain to max, its redundant at that point to set the decay to max also.

  • great tutorial ,,good advice ,true colors to the style ,,welll done mate ,,,

  • what song is 5:15-6:07?

  • ragarcia1993 Reasons,,,,its in the title

  • I'm with the guys asking for the part 2 you mention..... thanks for an excellent tutorial

  • What software is this?

  • 2 years later and there still no part 2 -_- Chris are you gonna make one ?

  • how do you play the music ?

  • @francois759 Francois, you need to trigger the notes with a MIDI keyboard (controller) or you can actually DRAW-IN the notes using the PIANO-ROLL in the Reason Sequencer section. Google Piano-roll and Reason Sequencer for more info. Good luck.

  • yea where the hell is part 2.

  • oh man this helped me out so much!!! Much Thanks bro :D

  • this is a pretty formal guy for someone who's teaching a wicked wobble sound!

  • heres my dubstep sound using only reason: /watch?v=u5XXIORCwXo

thumb me up i you like what you hear. if enough people are interested, i can do a tutorial.

  • Where is part 2? :S

  • umm... i understand that this is a completely nooby question (we're all learners here) but how do i change the speed of the wubs? please and thanks

  • @DubSpot Why I use my On Screen Piano it doesn't make the smooth sound, it cuts in and out. How do I fix this?

  • @longeroPr It's Reason 4 or higher

  • OMG! i have just resampling that sound and it sounds awsome! thx a lot

  • do you have a keyboard midi?

  • is there a ableton version of this?

  • Thx alot man... Where is part two???

  • what's the resonance unit of measurement? thanks!

  • Chris ...where's part 2

  • I followed this video exactly two times, and it sounds right except it sustains for like 30 seconds..........

  • I wana know how to do this exact wob on fruityloops, i refuse to work with reason without a mini keyboard

  • silly question, but what programs do you use?:)

  • @HimynameisHailey97 lol Reason yo,Search Reason 5

  • can you make this sound with ableton? if so how

  • Ok, Chris ...where's part 2 mate?

  • @Forevergoodmorning agreed

  • hoyl crud! thats alot but i'm willin to learn,

  • Excellent guys thanks!

  • what program are you using?

  • @AllAroundThaWorldInc They are using Reason 5 mate :)

  • IMO, you can get a nicer (and more widely used) yeah bass by using thor's wavetable osc, choosing the formant wave, and having an LFO automate the pos. Then run that through the scream in the same way as in the video, although it will only make the yeah sound if param 2 of the scream is at about 2 o'clock. just somethin to try :)

  • Any classes in the L.A area?

  • where is part 2?

  • FAGGOT SHIT

  • wat do we need for the classes online

  • @west818coastin 5 grand.

  • THAVIUS BECK! Woah thats awesome.

  • @jas0nv00r33s Reason 5

  • Is there a second part to this video?

  • Thanks so much for your advice! It was EXTREMELY helpful! I couldn't get my frequency on THOR to 184 and it really throws off the sound but I have the general idea now so thank you so much for your help!

  • @StillbornMessiah hold down the shift for fine tuning!

  • im going to move to nyc for the classes.

  • I live in Ireland .... but to get to NYC and get a place at Dubspot would be my dream.

  • can i like sign up for classes somehow? not online but like real classes?

  • @will4morehouse Absolutely, we have classes at our location in NYC, you can sign up either on our website dubspot.com or call 212-242-2100 and speak with one of our admissions officers directly. looking forward to hearing from you!

  • @DubSpot DAAAAAMMM i wanna do this sorta stufff but i live in the uk :'( nd im only 14 so i cnt relly go there :'( xD lol

  • what program is that?

  • @1998AdventureQuest reason...

  • @MrSmartypants007 it doesnt work for me =(

  • thats alotttttt to doooooo ahaha how can you memmorize that?lmfao

  • Damn !! this is one of the best tutorials ! Good job and thank you very mutch ! i subed !

  • Hey great tutorial, worked great, but i have one thing i didnt know how to do, how can i change the sound of the note, or just the note in general if i havent purchased a keyboard yet?

  • @comacausey13 From the 'Window' Menu choose 'Show On-Screen Keyboard.' Now you can use your computers keyboard to input notes.

  • @comacausey13 you can use the piano roll on the sequencer (access it by pressing ctrl+e while looking at the sequencer) or if you are just playing around with the notes you can bring up a computer key keyboard by pressing F4. You can also record with the computer key keyboard.

  • You sound like a robot

  • Just to be clear, it is not necessary to touch the polyphony parameters once you have selected MONO RETRIG. Once Mono has been selected, there is no need to touch polyphony controls. Sorry, it just bothers me when people brush over things like that because it takes out a part of the education process that I think is useful. Cheers!

  • Seriously where is part 2?

  • excuse me, but when i right click i cannot find the thor synth any idea were i can find it?

    sorry i am a noob

  • @SoGGi1234 Right click on an empty (the black area) part of your rack, go to the create menu if you are using Reason 4 or earlier to get to your devices list (thor etc). If you're using Reason 5 then you will only need to right click to get your devices list. However if you're using Reason Adapted you will not be able to create your own devices as it's a stripped down version of Reason, you will only be able to use the devices that are already in the rack when you open it.

  • LOL, press 1 over and over and ROFL ... wank

  • is there any way to program all the knobs and faders on my axiom 49 with reason??

  • i love the demo track

  • make sure you initialize the screams ! :)

  • very nice tutorial

  • I tried this, but the womp had too much static, can u help please?

  • ID LOVE A TUTORIAL TEACHING HOW TO MAKE RISERS WITH REASON! THERE ISNT ONE ON ALL OF YOUTUBE!

  • what is the program u are using

  • You should do a dubstep guide to get that "Yayjyjyjy" Skrillex bass

  • @Stefan2970 fuk skrillex hes a douche

  • @tron69snipes do you even know what a douche is? and i'd like to see you make better music.

  • I feel like all this can be done with 1 osc, 1 filter and 1 insert on Massive

  • fuck, that guy at the end talking bout dubspot must have balls round his ankles, his voice is so deep

  • @mrwaztom that's Dubspot instructor Thavius Beck, he teaches Ableton in our Online School. And yes, he has a great voice.

  • @DubSpot I knew he is not White just as I heard his voice. I am not racist, no worries :)

  • @DubSpot what software do you use?

  • @mrwaztom i think this guy was talking also in how i met your mother:)

  • not a bad tute, but playing the sound more regularly as you tweak knobs would be nice. its all just bit too many magic numbers.

  • i am trouble trying to figure out how to change the speed of the whomp

  • Im glad to see some tutorials on original sounding dubstep basses. Big ups!

  • DUDE! You stole my name....first and last........if your middle name is steven im going to shit brix.

  • where is part 2 of the tutorial as he mentions in the video

  • wheres pt 2 and how do i speed up the rate of the womp womp brah brah?

  • Ive gotta say, ive used many reason tutorials for dubstep on youtube, and yours is by far the most understandable, aswell as best sounding i have come across! congrats yo!

  • I did exactly the same but I ain't getting the same sound.

    Any help? Using Reason 4.

  • @thaman667 shot in the dark but are you on the right notes in the note lane? ive had times where ive moved down a few octaves and the sound changes alot.

  • @RollAnotherJ

    Tried all notes,.

  • @thaman667 if you didnt get the sound you probably didnt do it right. just pause the video and go one step at a time. or follow the written directions in his description :)

  • I know this is a horrible question but im new to Mac operating systems, how to i change the low pass ladder filter more accurately? it skips right over where you said to set it too.

  • @daviskrew14 the equivilant to shift? is it cmd?

  • @daviskrew14 go to preferences > mouse knob range > precise | or hold shift while your moving the knob and it will engage precise mode.

  • man you are good with reason, please make more tutorials for reason dubstep wobbles, rather than just abletonabletonableton :)

  • fat sound lol. cheers for the share ;)

  • Is there much difference between Reason Record and Reason4

  • great video thanks, need part 2~

  • where is part 2???

  • the mod envolope has tempo sync? why did nobody tell me?!?! aghhhh

  • What synth do you use, I'm looking to buy a Axiom Pro 49, but what synth do you think is best to use with Reason 5, what do you recommend? Need help on this subject!

  • @iamdullusional An axiom pro 49 will work fine with Reason. To be clear though the Axiom is a controller, not a synthesizer, it just sends midi notes and controls to whatever soft synth you're using (like Reason).

  • @DubSpot So what synth do you recommend I buy, because in the past I've brought synths and they don't work as good.

  • i have a novation synth and ive connected it to reason and it registers the sound, how do i use the sound of reason through my synth tho? ive got loads of dubstep basslines that i want to controll by playin the synth, any helps much appreciated :)

  • @MrCouldyoubeloved what you need to do is send MIDI from your keyboard into Reason. Then you should be able to play notes on the keyboard and hear them out of Reason.

  • @MrCouldyoubeloved

Just as an example, I control reason with a couple of Akai LPK25s. I run the audio from Reason on my laptop through Audio 2 DJ out to my amp. Works great.

  • @iamdullusional i use an Akai MPK49 and it suits very well with my Reason 5.

  • @iamdullusional Axiom is where its at man :) i got the same keyboard and i LOVE it... you wont be dissappointed with this puppy.. it sinks completely to reason which is fucking amazing!

  • @iamdullusional oh, and use the thor synth... its a monster!

  • WHERES PART 2?!?!?!?!??!?!?!?

  • how do i make this whomp smoother and less grainy sounding? should i change my analog ocs. to a sine wave or do i play with the filter frequency or something like that? help with this would be much appreciated

  • @l3dse7en because we're using the bit crusher to achieve the sound it's going to a bit grainy, for an alternate way to do something similar check out our latest massive tutorial on our channel. You could also try adding a separate EQ after the synth to shape the sound a bit.

  • @virtualmark check out our recent video "Talking Stepper." It's an extensive tutorial on how to produce unique talking sounds with Massive on any platform...

    /watch?v=ieIUmeeTiYE

  • how do i do this in fl studio

  • Cheers fella!

  • How do you speed up the whomp's?

  • @JesusdoesDubstep try adjusting the envelope settings, that will change the speed.

  • @JesusdoesDubstep "speed" is actually the LFO rate, so if you want it slower...try 4th notes, 8th notes...for faster, try 16th, 32nd note LFO rates.

  • i hope you release the second part of this tutorial soon as well.

  • thank you so much, I've spent ages trying to do this and other videos are either vague or are just simply bad tutorials. This has helped a lot.

  • great tutorial. also keep in mind i always find it most helpful when you explain why you do most things besides basic basic stuff. oh and i wouldnt call this a whomp sound. its the yaya bass.

there is a sound that actually sounds like whomp whomp. u should make a tutorial on that. i can provide an example of the sound if you need. let me know.

  • haha, i see your routed too soundflower. Such a useful tool ;)

  • @dafishmode soundflower is a useful tool indeed, in this case we're using it to record the audio for the videos, it's not actually necessary for the tutorial.

  • Please Make part 2 for Reason

  • @SK8RxxxSAM can you provide more detail about what you're doing? Are you trying to record MIDI or Audio?

  • part 2 is coming when???

    good tutorial

  • @conor123karl123 Chris is working on it. Watch the channel, the next vids should be done soon.

  • thank you i will keep checking!!

  • Good tutorial, clear and concise, also, the pauses are good for beginners to keep up. I normally use the formant filter in thor, but it's always good to see other people's techniques, and imho, your's sounds better.

  • i'm very new to Reason, and i have no idea how to listen to the sound you make when you test different settings please help

  • @tazFRAGS you need to play a note, either from the keyboard or sequencer.

  • im good! listen to my track! uploading more in a few hours.

  • Yeah thats not the the "whomp" sound. Its the "Yuh" sound. Listen to ti, does it sound lime "whomp"? Its "whomp".

  • how to eq the bass anyone know? please pm me..

  • great tutorial!

i would really like to see a tut about electro/acid-bass like in legowelts actual album vatos locos.

dubstep is kind of overpresent these days, in my opinion.

  • thankyou so so much!! ... always wanted to create this sound ... much much love for this, once again, thankyou a great great deal.

  • I like the vocal dubstep bass. However, there aren't many good tutorials for ableton that describe how to conjure something filthy like this.

  • short sweet and simple amazing tutorial!

  • DatsiK - Hydraulic

  • What program is this? Any tips for beginners DubSpot?

  • @SchadtKat the program is called Reason, it's made by Propellerhead Software

  • the Program is Propellerhead Reason.

  • I'm thinking bout pursuing a music career

  • Nicee
