Very good! Every word was clear :) One thing that I think could be worked on though is making the words more crisp, every word seemed somewhat rolled. Great job, and nice expression. :)
Thanks for your comment. We decided not to go with English accents due to the amount of dialect coaching that might have been required. Instead, we concentrated on enunciation and entertainment value.
Originally scored for 2 cornets b-flat and A ...no trumpets.

I love how the pit is dressed up as pirates and such. Very nice touch. And the fumbling of searching for the right word was superbly done.

it's also worth noting that the musical direction is wonderful.

Nice voice with good, clean delivery. A different Major Gen. Stanley than I'm used to. Excellent singing from everyone. Bravo!

Still on book? Wearing glasses? In front of the orchestra? Odd way to stage it.

I would agree. But then it is a concert performance.

My goal is to be able to perform this in a little talent show on August 14th, which is coincidentally also in Concord. =]

how big was the audience?

Somewhere around 220 or so ... we had to cram in more seats - the performance was completely sold out!

An English accent (and English accents for the chorus) would've been nicer, but yeah that was pretty good, and at the proper speed :)
Not keen on the costume though, he looks more like a mayor :/
I like the idea of a concert version of the show actually :)

aren't their accents english?
PolarSquid 3 years ago
No. To Americans they probably sound so, but no, they're American sounding impersonations.
