everytime i go to football in lytham each monday on the bus, always look at that place, theres just nothing there apart from old buidings with brokens windows ect, not really that nice :'(
Betcha Haven at Marton Mere are rubbing their hands though. Long live the British Budget Holiday. I wish the rest of you wonderful long waits on airport benches .......
i had many family holidays there and good memories particularly of the Bluecoats but it had to go it looked awful from the roadside it was so run down
i miss the pontins in blackpool i lived on the camp for 2 years when i was a kid and i think i was the luckyest kid growing up and living in pontins and having a big pontins family, so many memories and pontins was truely my home and will always be a big part in my life
I was a Blue coat at Blackpool for 3 seasons..my best memories are at Pontins ..broke my heart when I heard it was closing ..I learned my craft of entertaining there , lost my virginity there ...never had so many women in all my life !! lol , worked with many now famous people who worked for Pontins. A peice of my life smashed to bits just because of greedy land developers.
pontins really couldn`t care less about their customer`s the least they could have done was honour the bookings they had aready taken before they decided to close blackpool down now that it`s gone there is nowhere for families to stay except hotels that don`t really want or can`t cater for children surely blackpool council were aware of this when they did nothing to avoid pontins closing shame on everybody concerned, all the money you make i hope it does you no good best wishes to all the staff
I just don't understand it, why close the Blackpool one and invest money in the others? they should do the place up and go back to having day passes too........
Thank you for sharing that, I was suprised to see that it was shut down. One of the places I had hope to visit when I travel from down under. Will have to go visit one of the other camps now. Good luck for all the staff in their new jobs where ever they may be. KTF
we were meant to be there the week after it closed, twice a yr we went for the last 4yrs, I'll even miss the uncomfortable beds, and the showers where you got 20 seconds of water then had to press the button again. and of course the bluecoats who were great, we'll miss them.
I was there for the last every weekend, got on stage and made a speech on behave of the guest .... Blackpool Pontins will NEVER die as it will always be part of our memories. God bless all who've ever sail "stay" there x x
I met the love of my life in Pontins Blackpool in August-September 2009 and we went back for the last weekend before they closed, thank you Pontins for such a wonderful time.
I used to go here all the time i remember the last time i went really sad :'(
