We need more people like these to speak up and speak out against the de-naturing of other beings in intensive farming and vivisection.
Peace among mankind depends very much on our being first of all peaceful to those who cannot defend themselves, the animals, the ancient philosophers warned us this is so, and believe it more with every day.
With almost 100% certainty, I predict that one day animals will be treated with the full respect granted to humans. No longer will they be imprisoned and slaughtered for meager human gains. No more will they be experimented on in the name of science. It will be considered barbaric to eat the flesh of another sentient being, just as cannibalism is seen as barbaric now.
Just because there is concern with animals does not mean there isn't attention to all exploitation - It's all related.... what a society permits in it's mistreatment of animals - reflects in the way we treat each other. Racism, sexism and speciesism is all inter-connected. The generosity of rights must be extended to all living beings in order to be a consistant moral code.
Richard Ryder is a well know and respected Animal psycologist who knows what he's talking about. The very same values that are oppressing and abusing Animals are the ones that oppress people. Animal Rights is born out of Human rights. You cannot say 'We should not care about Animals' without including people in that statement - they are linked. That is, unless you don't believe in Human Rights anyway.

Thanks for posting these. I agree with what they are saying completely, so they are semi-predicatble to me and others like me. It's simply how well these speakers connect, it's amazing.
