Despite McCain's refusal to vote for renewable energy, he's running TV ads during the Olympics, showing a wind farm full of spinning turbines, the exact same energy he WOULD NOT vote in support of EIGHT TIMES over the past year.
McCain presumes Americans are SO stupid that if he just shows them wind turbines in an Olympics ad they'll actually think he showed up and voted for such renewable power — when he didn't.
The Demorat's & Obama got embarrassed when they brought T.Boone.They thought he was against drilling all together. He is only against drilling in other countries not in the U.S. He hates to see 700 billion dollars a years go to other countries & people that hate us!

It's true Hybrid vehicles consume LESS gas, but they still consume gas. We have the technology to build fast, affordable, fully electric vehicles that can travel more than 100 miles on a single charge AND look just like vehicles on the road today. (Search: "Who Killed the Electric Car") Problem is corrupt politicians, whose power is lavishly funded with oil money, prefer to serve the short-term interests of greedy oil executives than the long-term interests of ordinary people like you.
Step away from the pump and look at the bigger picture. Based on current usage levels, by or before 2020 the world's supply of petroleum will fall below the level required to meet international demand. Unless we pursue renewable energy NOW as if it were the Space Race, the United States will reach a point where there is no longer enough oil to sustain civilization in its present form. Clearly, a comprehensive national oil savings strategy is the only real way to ensure America's energy security.

"Untapped Oil Reserves Could Fuel the U.S. for 300 Years"
ipaa. org / issues / comments / NaturalGasCommission . asp
For decades, the feds have raked in $millions in lease payments from O&G cos.; then, restricted development thru ever-increasing bureaucratic & environmental measures. It's a veritable cash cow for them, & at the same time, they're able to appease the environuts. They're masters at having it both ways, while U.S. citizens pay the price.
Yuo saw what I said to you elsewhere...the oil may be there, but we on't have the refinery capacity and the costs are very high, not to mention the devastation drilling and mining shale will cause. I will tell you one thing, the state of Colorado will never allow environmental hazards. So wouln't it make more sense to recreate our power grid with clean energy? Hell, I am not against nuclear energy, if it's issues can be resolved (cost and fuel disposal).
there is so much natural energy out there that once we learn how to unlock it we will have unlimited power , yes unlimited so vote for obama and get on the way to achieving it .Lets make this world modern , smart and clean .Stop war trade with all nations and lead by example .
as a pysicist, an enviormentalist and someone who belives in the wellbeing of the entire planet (european here) i am touched by this speach. I mean while the McCain campaign puts up stupid adds Obama is actually doing some really meeaningfull stuff. If i lived in the US this would be the guy i'd vote for.
actually, we should start using more eco- friendly energy, like wind energy, water wheel, and those kind of energy, and maybe if there is a way to put a Wind turbine in like a car, then cars can be powered that way, we need to make more eco friendly stuff, then our economy will be better! we also need to use solar energy, we need to stop using coal, and nuclear power plants i hope you will do this obama!
This is the point-the guy cares about others and is one of the smartest people on the planet. Vote for him and make the world a better and safer place. Rock On! TKD
It seems to me that the world be better and safer if we had good jobs and top-flighht scientific innovation coming to the heartland, didn't have to send the money for 25 percent of our oil to the Middle East and Venezuela, and reduced electricity consumption, costs & green house gasses? That's the prgram he wants to pursue.
Don't forget as well, Obama is the third least present, and HE HASN'T even finished his first term in the Senate. That's WHY he isn't hammering McCain on this.
Don't vote for a party, vote for the man..a good man,,Barack Obama! Alternative energy, for sure. Solar is good..no man has ever shed another's blood over sunlight :)
There is a difference between attacking policies and personal attacks. I think the Obama camp should hit McCain hard on a new gaping weakness - that he has decided to run a Karl Rove style campaign. Nothing ties him to being another George W. Bush more than that. The Obama camp must repeatedly point out just how the McCain camp has decided to campaign. Distill it like this - McCain's subconscious message is "Because doubt is safer than hope." and seeks to undermine Obama's conscious hope message
"We choose to go to the moon in this decade and do the other things. Not because because they are easy, but because they are hard. Because that challenge is one we are willing to accept".
I don't think it's coincidence that Barack's message sounds so similar. What he is proposing is just a daunting. But we took that challenge and we accomplished it. Even if Obama's goals are too ambitious, at least he wants to get us going in the right direction.
What a great speech. You know he pissed off all oil companies when he said give checks to people to pay for gas from the outrageous profits they been making, Cant wait till he's president.
Fantastic speech that had specifics, some of the upbeat optimisim and hope that we look for and an ambitious goal for not only Obama's administration, but for the american people to better themselves.
Barack Obama is the winner. John McCain is reduced to making fun of him. John McCain is reduced to responding to Paris Hilton. LOL. Goodbye John McCain. You and your people have been in complete control since 1995. You blew it.
Seriously now, I honestly don't see how anyone could think that voting for Johnny-boy over Obama is a good idea. Barack Obama is the most presidential human being to run for the office since JFK.
I really hope we get some presidential debates soon. Obama would eat McCain alive.
are you an idiot? You must be to come here on a 33 min video that explains the plan in depth and mention that. The tire inflation comment is 100% true and will reduce gas consumption by 3.3%. Also, that was framed incorrectly and was an answer to a question a supporter asked about how SHE could help by doing little things. That was one of the answer which is 100% FACT and is mentioned on many sites about conservation.
Cassandrea007- Barack Obama's energy plan is comprehensive. His statement about inflating tires was in response to a question. FACT- The Department of Energy estimates that keeping tires inflated can help improve gas mileage by about 3.3%. It's one step the agency recommends, along with removing items from the trunk, replacing clogged air filters and getting regular tuneups. Only 3% of world oil is here in the US. The long-term solution is to curb our dependence. Did you watch the video?
Im a canadian supporter of obama, however.. Nuclear power would make a huge difference in the US's contribution to pollution. Did you know, most nucular reactors produce 7-9 barrels of waste a year? Providing more energy then multiple coal factories. Coal is the cheapest but most pollutant source of energy. The key is a combination of wind and nucular energy... and eventually when solar gets cheaper, solar. We MUST get rid of coal use...
McSame policy is KEEP DIGGING BABY. The mc cain campain wine about the amount of people and press Obama gets, if his policy was like Obamas he two may be popular. Then he gives media tire pens,AS A JOKE,then he makes fun of bible comparison,AS A JOKE.Then makes fun of young women Hilton and Britny one that may be suffering a mental illness so he makes fun of a handicap person,AS A JOKE, Do you feel gas prices and mother earth is a joke, if so vote for the joker. hagd
I do agree for alternative energy Yes in a nuc power plants like in Europe and wind and solar and others. But oil will be on demand for a long time. Plus in and off the coasts Ameria there is oil supply that surpasses the Arab states. Yet congress does nothing for decades. Car companies do nothing for high mpg cars for mid size cars. Electric cars will need power plants that produce energy for these cars. We can not just run out for high price hybred Small cars
McCain's attempt to jokingly pass off a tire gauge as Obama's "Energy Plan" just bit him on his own arse. It turns out, Obama's SUGGESTION to someone who asked what they could do to help actually CONSERVES MORE that McCain's REAL energy plan could produce!!
AAAAHAHAHAHA
Not to mention you wouldn't have to wait 8 years for it to make a difference!
Fantastic! Cheap clean energy will make capitalism great for all. There will be a new standard of what it means to be poor or to be a labor hand. Go, Obama; Bring it home. The Oil
Another great speech. But I wish our 100 kids could post their video responses on this site. McCain's site is open and Obama's should be too. We have a lot of kids who love Obama.
I too wish he would be more straight forward, especially about our collective and individual responsibility to this challenge. I know he doesn't want another "bitter-gate" and elienate all those "pick-up' owners but someone needs to say it, we are an over-consuming, gluttonous nation in some ways, he could call out hummer drivers who can afford to buy fuel efficient cars, single people with gas guzzlers and cities without mass transit.
IF WE Got the SUV off are usa market we can have form 4 dollars a gallon to 2.87 a gallon i hope you all agree suv are only like a family long travel vehicle now a go everywhere one haha =)
He sounds presidential...He acts presidential..not like the guy with the white hair who still do not understand that US does not want him! GO Obama! Our Energizer!
The security-terrorist stuff is nonsense, but the energy stuff is excellent. He is at least coherent, liberal and intelligent which is more than one can say for McBush.
This makes much more sense than McSame's pandering. McCain's plan is drilling more oil even though it won't change a thing. I wish everyone would educate themselves and not be distracted by non-issues. WAKE UP AMERICA !!! Lets vote For Barack !!!!!
Can't you all see this man must be president? I mean what more can anyone ask for? Who in their right mind would vote for McCain? I try, but I just cant wrap my brain around the concept of voting for an old man, a horse and buggy man, someone applying the same old techniques and expect different results.
Obama announces a new Manhattan Project, this time not to build a bomb that destroys cities, but to develop renewable energy technology that will save our planet for future generations and solve the crises in energy, employment, environment and economy.
Or you could wait for the magic wand that McBush promises to wave in order to lower gas prices and cut taxes at the same time. You know, the same magic wand that Bush used to recue New Orleans and win the war in Iraq.
I like barack but you can't ever unsubscribe from his web stuff. I don't like that. He's a great orator. I like Michelle but I'm just not political this season. oh well.
Got my vote.

Did you watch the video?

you forgot to mention that mccain along with offshore drilling has also mentioned the use of nuclear power.
likmywigga 3 years ago 2
Im a canadian supporter of obama, however.. Nuclear power would make a huge difference in the US's contribution to pollution. Did you know, most nucular reactors produce 7-9 barrels of waste a year? Providing more energy then multiple coal factories. Coal is the cheapest but most pollutant source of energy. The key is a combination of wind and nucular energy... and eventually when solar gets cheaper, solar. We MUST get rid of coal use...
Minion2k1 3 years ago
Most nuclear station is for plutonium for atomic bomb.. for energy :)
and they are very dangerous.. do you remember Chernobyl?
Solar, wind and tidal power stations will be much better, a specially in USA whith a lot of sun and wind :)

Lansing, Michigan. :) I'm happy to have him in my state. Can't wait to vote for him!

Clean energy industry in America? Sounds good to me, will create new jobs. Works in other countries.
Repubs had 8 years to make something work better for America and they just chose to fatten their own pockets.

Oil companies make

McCain's attempt to jokingly pass off a tire gauge as Obama's "Energy Plan" just bit him on his own arse. It turns out, Obama's SUGGESTION to someone who asked what they could do to help actually CONSERVES MORE that McCain's REAL energy plan could produce!!
AAAAHAHAHAHA
Not to mention you wouldn't have to wait 8 years for it to make a difference!

Another great speech. But I wish our 100 kids could post their video responses on this site. McCain's site is open and Obama's should be too. We have a lot of kids who love Obama.
kidstalkpolitics 3 years ago
I too wish he would be more straight forward, especially about our collective and individual responsibility to this challenge. I know he doesn't want another "bitter-gate" and elienate all those "pick-up' owners but someone needs to say it, we are an over-consuming, gluttonous nation in some ways, he could call out hummer drivers who can afford to buy fuel efficient cars, single people with gas guzzlers and cities without mass transit.

Republicans are irresponsible, like children who nag about the same, simple-minded thing over and over and over.
