One more thing...have a look at a jig in Edcath 2 called Agitated Fingers & be sure to play it very round, open & steady...be sure to give the first low-A healthy emphasis & I'll bet it would be an excellent tune for you. P.

You have an excellent command of your pipe with a confident steady sound & your teacher should very proud of you. Rushing tunes is due to nerves...tape record yourself & that will help a great deal. Listen to Donald MacPherson as to how 2/4s are properly played. One thing to note...ending your playing by finishing on an extended low A, will give a judge a last good taste of nice tone to think about. Best to you. P.

Yep have to agree, minimum grade II level playing. Then again some people have strengths in different idioms of music. Perhaps he's just a jig master!!!

This was the first time I played this tune in competition and was surprised at how well I did though it felt a bit rushed.

I wouldn't call myself a jig master, I just really like playing jigs and 6/8 marches.

Don't sell yourself short. Paul o Windsor has said most of my feelings. You have great control of the music. I myself run away with things, but I still have an ear for what is correct. This was very well done.
