  • she was wonderful, you don't see good commerials anymore ,Mrs Hamilton you are GOOD TO THE LAST DROP

  • Ok, she says she doesn't have much room in a country store, but yet she devotes an entire wall to coffee?

  • I remember her life after "OZ" as a pitch woman for Maxwell House Coffee. But I think her second best role was that of Professor Crabwell in "The Night Strangler", sequel pilot movie for ABC's "The Night Stalker". She played the professor of anthropology Kolchak went to see to find out more about Dr. Richard Malcolm [played by Richard Anderson] and how he was keeping himself alive and young.

  • commercial's told the real truith back in the day with actor's that you'd see in the movies

  • TV commercials were nicely done back in the 1960s and 70s. No crazy loud blaring music and sarcastic weasels screaming at you like the stupid commercials on TV today.

  • "one thing bout running a country storree... it isnt much fun."

  • This was actually Ms. Hamilton's very first spot for MH...she did countless others between 74-79.

  • I'll drink you, my little coffee, and your cream and sugar too!

  • I remember these tv ads as a kid; and could not believe that Cora...this sweet old lady in the Vermont General Store for Maxwell House was the same Wicked Witch of the West from OZ. Upon reaching the age of learning & college; I read about Ms. Hamilton and the rest of our friends from the 1939 OZ pic. Her ashes were scattered upon Cape Island, Maine; Not a bad place to be, imo. A legendary actress of immortality; sterling lady as sound as a dollar. Peace to you & beyond.

  • She used to scare me as the wicked witch in the wizard of oz as a little girl

  • "Counrty store"....sigh...

  • she was kicked to the kerb to make way for a 7-11

  • From the year I was born! Wow. lol

  • I love the part where she says "Home-baked pies" and then tries to sneak in -- as an aside -- "when I can get 'em!"

  • Don't fall for this. It's a trap set by the witch. They didn't tell you that this coffee shop is set in Oz did they? That the witch faked her melting and opened a coffee shop to trap Dorothy? That she plans on making toto into a coffee, make the tin man into a coffee pot and serve it to Dorothy?

  • Anyway, my last crazy posting is what we'd get if they did a sequel today .

  • My great grandparents absolutely refused to drink any coffee except Maxwell House. So, my grandmother would always pour Folgers coffee into the Maxwell House can, and my great grandparents drank it every time!

    All in their heads.

  • Someone needs to throw a bucket of water on her.

  • she would of lived to be 100 if she had drinkin folgers

  • @eze14213 - Hey, if you drink Maxwell House for 100 years you'll live a long time!

  • why would i wanna do that?..i'd probably end up in the world book of guiness records and show my grandchildren..ohh, please im trying to better myself not lower myself

  • Would have been a good SNL skit if Dorthoty and the scarecrow suddenly came in asking for a cup of coffee, and she went back into being the witch, burning the scarecrow with hot coffee and trying to kill.

  • i think dorthy would of threw in her face after tasteing that crap

  • nah, Dorothy was a sweet nonviolent girl, even apologizing to the witch, "It was an accident" and "I didn't do it on purpose,"

However, the witch was sadistic and got her kicks tormenting everyone, and since she blamed dorothy for the death of her sister, the witch had sadistic plans for her

  • I honestly think she looks better HERE than in her younger WOZ days.

  • yeah,,her nose actually looks real

  • She lived in Connecticut

  • I"m not sure I knew that she lived here.....lol...thank you for telling me that : )

That explains why it was filmed here!

  • Bad business structure, only selling one brand.

  • hehe

  • Apparently they filmed these ads in my town of Stamford, CT. I go by the little building all the time. Other folks have confirmed it for me....my only question? now as an adult and seeing how easy it is to film things it looks like this could have been filmed anywhere (some backlot) but it is supposedly true it was done in Stamford, so I am happy for that : )

  • I cant believe that no one who saw this even mentioned that Margaret Hamilton was famous for playing the Wicked Witch in The Wizard of Oz in 1939.....

  • mawell house is in jacksonville... makes down town smell like coffee... so figuer haha

  • She could give Starbucks a run for their money!

  • they don't make movies, TV, or Commercials like they used to.

  • You said it! They sure don't..

    Bring back the simpler times...

  • So that's where Elfaba went when she faked her death.

  • I did'nt know she did these commercials til' seeing Andrea Martin impersonating here on SCTV.

  • Cora could make you drink coffee, my pretty!

  • But not recommended for little dogs, too!
