Stunning, I just wish it was beside T42 or the Gherkin, where it is now seems to block the view of the cluster from certain angles across the river.
Those reservations aside I'm glad it's being built, it's great how almost all of the new scrapers for London are unique and have their own interesting features.
London will look great with stunning scrapers organised into clusters, with landmarks like The Shard standing on their own.
Its different. I think its kind of cool to have a great variety in styles. I mean the tate and the Lloyds buildings are extremely ugly but they are loved so I think it will be welcomed :)
I don't care what anyone sais... but in my OPINION, this is the only skyscraper i would rather not have built in the City. I just can't help thinking that the design is trying too hard and will not fit in with the surroundings.
I agree this particular skyscraper will be largely unwanted - unbalanced, ugly and arrogant... I think it will quickly become unfashionable. The shard at the end of this clip does look fantastic though - take a few design tips from the architects of that building perhaps?
i absolutely hate the exterior, especially the side where it looks like its slanted sidewards, from a distance it looks terrible. if they straightened this out, then the building would be nice.

Ugly, unbalanced and gormless. A sheer monstrosity. Looks like it was created by a madman. And will the wonderful 'skygarden' ever be accessible to the general public, given fears about terrorist acts? Once again the public is being duped by Ken Livingstone and his cronies.
wow! what an absolutely breathtaking building. sustainable design is becoming such an important factor in architecture and construction. i cannot wait to see more buildings like this hopefully going up in chicago!

at the end of the day, its a horrible shape, no amount of greenery or conceptual jargon can remove that fact.

I heard this building has been canceled...i hope it's true.
antonjon1 2 years ago
@antonjon1 Nope, not true, it's under construction now.
When you made your comment I believe it was under review, it was approved though and demolition of the previous building has been completed.

Poor deluded fools and philistines, who think that sticking up glass and steel office towers actually enhances a place and makes it great.

What a horrible ugly building. A monstrosity. All of the other proposed skyscrapers look good to me, but this is an absolute pig.

I really like this building. Demolition of the site is progressing well. The Shard looks breath taking at the end of the video.
