If you are at all worried about it blowing you could always buy an airbag kit made for rescue like they use for emergency vehicle extrication. Those will last forever and will never explode and have a much higher weight rating
@kingbrad89 ...LOL...this video is almost 3years old...the air jack I made still works perfectly....and it only cost me about $10 in parts...why in the world would I want to spend over $1,000 on a "rescue jack" if this one has worked without fail for 3 years???
this is probably the best idea ive seen for offroading in the last 8 years, good job man, i might use your idea when i get out of this desert to make my own variation.
Ah, okay. Thanks for the clarification. Also, from the video/sound, it does look a bit suggestive of a possible rupture. But, from your personal experience with it for (4?) years, you say it's solid as a rock? Do you happen to know the load rating on the rubber?
And do all boat fenders have schrader/car-tire valves on them? Is that the normal method of inflation for the fenders?
@splavin90 It may look like it,..but that is why I made the rope net around it, for safety reasons in case of a blow-out,..It's been working flawlessly for 4 years.
big boat fender,..4ft of 1/2" air line,..1/2" ball valve,..3" x 1/2" close nipple(screws directly into fill hole on boat fender),...and make a net around it for safety(possible blowout)
ARB makes one that works off of your exhaust, and it barely lifts a stock height vehicle,...so technically ..yes...they make them,...but they are useless and far inferior for lifted trucks.
@Tanks250 but the only reason is because of the tires right because your axles are still on the ground unless you put 44's on it the lifted truck part isnt the problem its the big tires unless you mean to lift any other place then the axle's i dont have to much to worry about because i dont have huge tires just some 35" at's

What do you use for a one-way-valve? So, when you pull the hose from the exhaust, it doesn't deflate the boat fender?
ericmathison1 11 months ago
@ericmathison1 ...it doesn't use exhaust...it is operated/inflated by the on board air system
