That still makes the Wild worse than the Avs. It's one thing to get killed by the Cup champs, but it's quite another to get beat (not quite killed, but beat pretty convincingly) by the team that got killed by the Cup. That fact more than makes up for the Wild beating the Avs in '03, since it just proved that bore-you-to-tears, try-to-win-every-game 1-0 hockey doesn't work.
