G'day mate i am looking at purchasing this camera however i am led to believe that i will not be able to edit on a 64 bit pc. I would appreciate it if you could tell me if you edit in 64 bit or not.
Yup I've had this cam for about a month now and am very happy with it. It's got it's little corks about it, but it's so nice being tapeless! And I bought mine from sony with my student discount for $350 off the sticker price which covered the three year mis-handleing insurance. So if I kill it, they'll replace it:)
@DTMTroy This cam here is $3500.00. I know it is alot but you get alot of great features that are on the higher end stuff like $6000.00 an up. Thank god for financing (intrest free for 12 months) or I would not have this beauty. Hope this answered your question. I will have demo stuff up soon. Thanks for the comment.
@ER92840 so that's $3500 american? I'm in Canada though so would be like what? $250 or so? Jk jk.Hope to save up to buy one myself. Wonder if I can do something with Sony like you did? Can't wait for a demo.
@DTMTroy Well mine was not bought through Sony, It was from a local studio store. So I got the financing through them. Sony has a finance option as well but don't know to much details about theirs.
@Rutgervano Yeah I noticed that as well when I unboxxed it. We probably saw the same videos as I usually checkout the item here before I buy it. Test vids coming real soon. Thanks for the comment.
the AX2000 only shoots 1080p in 24p and 30p. the 60 is 1080i. And believe it or not it doesn't shoot in 720! Its 1080p or 1080i HD or 480i SD. And in SD mode it shoots pSCAN which is an interlaced scanning system. I love the 24p and 30p so i don't see why i would shoot anything different. And progressive is the way to go for sure. If you going for a film look that is. the 60i looks really good too. And on the FX mode it's 24mbps. I'm liking this camera!
@BroBryce2009 Yes it is. I was really in awe when I saw it at the store and I heard good reviews on it. So now I am buried in the manual trying to figure it all out LOL. Thanks for the comment.
@hallbe Yeah I really like these backgrounds. I did not want to use a moving one cause I thought it would distract from the camera. Thanks for the comment.
@BeanMeister22 No it is a ACHVD camera so it uses Higher end SD cards. I liked tapes so I have a physical backup but it was much more for the prosumer end of it. But can't get 6 hours of filming on a tape system least wise in my budget. Thanks for the comment.
@voicepoet Yeah stepping up in the poor house LOL! :) All the stuff I had for my previous camera is not compatible so I have to re buy mics and stuff. Thanks for the comment.
@hatemeproductions Yeah, I am sure alot of people would like to have it but don't want anything to do with the payments on it LOL. Thanks for the comment.
@lonewolf13scott ahh im sorry, I will ship ya my box and take it to the store and say "hey what is the big idea giving me an empty box" :) Thanks for the comment.
@ER92840 LOL 1 Christmas my bro bought my dad a camcorder for a gift. He got it in Chicago at one of those foreign owned stores downtown. Never checked the box. When my dad opened it all he had was the styrofoam. My brother went back to Chicago and confronted the guys and they suddenly couldnt speak english. So my brother busted them. He is a federal agent
Nice - Great new toy. I wish I had one of those. When you sell it on eBay, I make a bid for certain! Looks beautiful and it's a Sony ;) Gotta love that! 6 hours of filming!
Nice no tape uh? I have the HDR-FX7 and it requires tapes. I also am looking to go to film school and from what I've heard they prefer tapes. Not sure why. Have you heard about this? Any way I think your new camera is pretty cool. I might have to upgrade my self. I've heard that your camera has realy good low light. That's something I'd love to have.
@poisonstinger Yes I like the tape systems but 6 hours at one time is so awesome. The school that I am going to does not care if it is tape or cards as long as it can be digital and HD up to 1080i 60 FPS. As for the low light I can not wait to try that to and I heard it does a fairly decent job with it. If you do upgrade man I am sure you will get alot of miles out of it. You shoot awesome videos as it stands right now :) Thanks for the comment.
@greggfla hahah you guess right ill be reading the manual still LOL ;) Nah Ia m sure I should have something posted by the end of the weekend. Thanks for the comment.
If you are going to use green screen, dont use a shiny table lol. you can totally see the green screen reflection XD

@ER92840 Would you post vids so I can see if there's any difference between 1080/60p and 1080/60i, 1080/30p and 1080/30i.
720 will do a nice job too, but I'm interested in progressive versus interlaced, what would be the best to record.
