  • I just read that engine only weighs 650lbs. I can guess your boat approaches 70mph. Nice! Thx for posting.

  • Hey There OBC,

I have a rebuilt 292 JUST LIKE THAT - sad to say it is on the shelf and the boat hull has left the world of usefulness. Do you know anyone who would want the engine? Or should I just put it on Ebay? Loved the video - I skied behind that sound my whole childhood!

  • wow must have very deep crankshaft for a rpm limit of 5,000, my 351 clevland had a low rpm limit of 5 grand.

  • Did you take the belt off the raw water pump when starting this on the trailer? If not, you just smoked your jabsco impeller! I didnt see any water coming out of the wet exhaust that would indicate you were giving it any water.

  • @ConvairDart106 Belt removed

  • I agree right with ford9572!

  • Awesome find! I have a 59 F100 with a Y-block. They are great motors.

  • @recon250R You should do some checking around on the Internet about that.

  • Sure IS a beast!!!! That sounds REALLY MASCULINE!!!!! YEEE-HAA!!! I just LOVE that healthy and throaty grunt that comes out of the exhaust!!! You should do another vid of it in the water at WOT!!!

  • That sounds good.

  • Nice boat! are you in Washington?

I have an interceptor Ford 289, (I was told it's now a 302), in a '69 Fiberform. I pulled the engine to change intermediate bearing and found no pilot bushing, called around to marinas and was told it doesn't take one, but there is a spindle on drive shaft and a place for one in the flywheel, do you know anything about this?
