  • i"ll slap those around like a cheap rag doll

  • Im a senior in high school, and I sit between 82-84mph and Im trying to improve my velocity. Im 150lbs but lift alot, and I really am not seeing results, Ive been at it for 6 months. The thing is, I live in Ohio, and we have about 8 inches of snow, so longtoss is out of the question. any tips?

  • Does long toss help gain pitch speed? Please respond

  • yout cutter shouldnt be that much slower than your fastball

  • okay im 13 and i throw around a 65-70mph but i can only go 3-4 innings out of 6 any tips??? PLEASE REPLY!!!

  • @elijahking100 dont go any higher then 3 to 4 or else you will mess up your arm and baseball that early in age is pointless

  • @elijahking100 do alot of armbands and long toss every other day

  • Nice Mechanics.

  • your mechanics are good.. and for the people who are saying your fastball shouldnt cary 5 mph.. just ignore it because you can be slightly changing the grip for more movement but it will result in slower speed so just ignore that.. good mechanics btw

  • now thts real pitchin...well u might be a inconsistant, but thts good pitching

  • good choice of the intro song! love veil of maya!

  • i love your vids lol im a junior also i wanan follow you im thinking of committing to pitcher atm im pitcher and catcher

  • I have been to showcases before, and that is no showcase! And I am not saying that you aren't throwing mid 80s but in this video it just looks slow a's hell, but good luck with your baseball career, keep working hard!!

  • what schools????? bullshit. and forkball??? who throws that nowadays.your a retard. you probly hit 87 once in your life.that doesnt mean you throw 87.you probly throw 82 to 84.which isnt good velo for a junior

  • @kjdlbj23 lay off dickhead hes already commited to d1 hes probably at a higher level than you are

  • @kjdlbj23 lincecum throws a change up with a split grip...but what does he matter?

  • Also your stride is like 20% of your actual length. You need to stride out another 50-60% i can see when u plant that front foot u almost have a complete straight leg and thats deff not using your hips to the full potential. Just measure 120% of your actual height and thats where your front foot should be landing. Even if it means ur knee cap is almost hitting the ground on ur back leg, which it wont but thats where it needs to be

  • your layback on ur forearm is all wrong ur arm has got to be killing you everytime you pitch. get that arm in a 60 degree slot when your in your full scapula. will gain atleast 4-5 mph plus it wont hurt as much either. thats deff what they call throwing over the top.... which is all wrong.. it dont matter if ur side arm or over the top. The same arm slot will hit and will look like its side arm which is the right way to whip the baseball.

  • thats a slow ass cutter

  • how is your fastball ranging from 82-87? thats pretty inconsistent.

  • Wow I've been condition almost everyday since I was eight I'm 5 "9" and when I was 15 I hit 82-84 there's nothing special about your pitching I'm a junior now an I've gotten 12 d1 offers

  • @TopTierLHP who do u pitch for?

  • i subscribed to you so can you help me with something i need to know how to increase my velocity and i dont know how so can you make a vid on how to and btw im a freshman so i really need help im already getting scouted

  • i subscibed to you and i have one question can you make a vid on how to increase velocity im a freshman and im pitching so can you please help me?????

  • your not throwing 82-88 or whatever your saying, maybe touching low 80's when your on, and you look kinda small, but that really doesn't matter all that much. being a lefty does help though

  • i don't know, it doesn't convince me though, that is more what i pitch, please note that i average a 73 mph ball... umm are you sure that was measured with a radar gun?

  • @kramer0810 Check my new video, 84-88...behind the catcher view. Seriously why would I lie on a video? My newest video will show you how hard I throw. If you dont believe it then that's you're problem not mine.

  • @TopTierLHP nobody is attacking you lol i just say i see it like a little slower... i have met people that in the gun throw like 50 miles the hour and it doesn't seem to... i'm one of those, the gun probably tells me 73 miles 75... but it seems faster... :) will see your video later on :P

  • @TopTierLHP

    how fast u throw u meant?xD

  • No lie I'm really good. I'm a freshman and throw 97-99 no lie. I'm just really good for a freshman. No lie.

  • That looks about 75

  • I would be surprised to see this kid break 75. He's a notorious liar and recently, I hit a grand slam off of him in Summer League. On that particular pitch, his fastball was about 73 and it was straight. He's the worst pitcher I've ever faced.

  • @brenokeydoke no you didnt. worst attempt of a lie ever.

  • throws like cole hamels.

  • your fastball shouldnt vary by 5 mph...you might be exaggerating velocity..?

  • @casurfer21 No its just that I'm kind of inconsistent with my fastball velocity. Sometimes I slow my arm down...sometimes I just rear back and fire.

  • 70-75 at tops.

  • @andy7dud Dude...have you even seen an 87 mph fastball before??? Like seriously some of these comments are just plain retarded...

  • @TopTierLHP

ur the retard for lying, dumbass ive seen up to 95, ill hit bombs off of you any day

  • @andy7dud cool man...but see...no one cares hahaha!!! Have a good day :-)

  • actually the sweet spot of the glove is in between the pocket and the palm, im a catcher and thats where it is going to make the loudest "pop"

  • Aye bro I'm 15 hitting around 70-75 but my elbow has been hurting every time I try to pitch hard now I haven't told my pitching coach yet but will next Tuesday But for now I need some advice how not to hurt my elbow i think I'm using too much arm but please help bro because lately my elbow has been hurting not my shoulder btw I'm a righty

  • You most likely are trying to throw too hard. A lot of kids make the mistake of trying to blow past kids with every pitch and throw the hardest they possible can.

Bring it down a couple MPH, to around 65-70. Or somewhere where you can throw pitches comfortably without pain. That way you will have to learn to become a good pitcher instead of just blowing past people, and you will always have that 75mph heater ready if you need to rear back.

  • @Shintalka thanks for the advice i have been doing that and it's kind of hurting still but getting better i am going to see my pitching coach tomorrow but thanks for the advice and toptierlhp is tight bro

  • you need to use a gun

  • good mechanics

  • dude not 87

  • Im only 15 and i can throw 101. Beat that hahaha!!! jkjk i can probably throw 70 on a good day

  • dude u suckk dick, not gonna lie

  • i thimk i see what ur talking about the ball kinda pops outta your hand right at the end

  • Why the short arm?? Not even close to 87 maybe 78

  • @DuvyTV stfu dude seriously you sound stupid...

  • @TopTierLHP well obviously alot of people are agreeing with me you suck

  • he doesnt look like he is throwing that hard until you give us the view from behind us and one other question why is it so quiet most guys who throw 80 make a really loud snap

  • @kingpitcher2 well I have a loose arm so maybe thats why it doesn't look like I'm throwing hard. If I where to make my mechanics more explosive then it would appear that I'm harder when in reality it's the same velocity. Also, it all depends where the catcher catches the ball. If the ball hits the sweet-spot of glove, which is about right on the palm, then it wont matter how fast the ball is going, it'll still make a loud "popping" noise.

  • @TopTierLHP lol the sweet spot of the glove is the pocket not the palm..

  • @franksturbolol Hahaha well I meant that the glove makes the loudest "pop" when the ball hits it in the palm.

  • do you know any good wrk outs to strenghten ur core annd

    what can help improving velocity

  • @Rice4Lif3 i used to play baseball a little bit and like to pitch but id have to say that for a fast pitch, develop great back and shoulder muscles and a flexible rotater cuff first. especialy the rotator cuff, u really wanna get it nice and lose because if you injure it, it will stay with you for a while and it sucks.

  • is throwing 75-82 pretty good for a freshman pitcher

  • @Rice4Lif3 freshmen in college or high school? either way its great but im in high school and the fastest pitcher we have is a senior and throws 65 mph at most.

  • @Rice4Lif3 for a freshman, yes. Now if only you can close your range down a bit than you'll be more effective. I mean I don't know what kind of pitcher you are but I'm just saying; 79-82 looks and sounds better than 75-82...you know what I mean?

  • @rice4lif3 im a freshman and throw 88 to 91 but im 6,4 220 no joke really good for a freshman

  • @Rice4Lif3 message me and i will send you workouts im a freshman and throw 88 to 91 fastball ..............but im 6,4 220

  • i just was suprised somebody would post a video of themselves throwing like 80 mph and acting like their good....thats alll. im sure youll get drafted tho bro

  • @618iaintplayin I know, too bad it's not 80 mph though...

  • hey hows the forkball working for you?

do people encourage you to continue throwing it or to people (scouts, coaches, whatever) tell you its a bad pitch?

  • u dont throiw 87 more like 78 i would hit a blast off u

  • @618iaintplayin yeah cool man, I feel kinda bad for you though...not having a life and everything must suck :-/ considering you like spammed all of my pitching videos. Go out and get some air kid...you need it.

  • I remember you from st. patricks high school. My high school team lit you up. by the way you have bad mechanics.

  • @baseballking11000 haha yeah alright kid...I never get lit up so get your facts straight. Until you can tell me what high school you go to, I refuse to even remotely accept your false statement.

  • u cant really tell how fast the ball is coming from looking at the view behind the pitcher. the camera needs to be behind the catcher

  • nice im 14 and about a half and my fastball is high 70 maybe 77tops, my changeup is around 65 and split a little faster, but great stuff man

  • wat highschool do u go to?

  • @Rice4Lif3 I go to St. Patrick High School in Chicago, IL

  • @TopTierLHP

Check out my pitching vid. I sit 86 and have been gunned up to 90. I'm signed to Neosho County out in Kansas. Just take a look.

  • @SPRTNGamingTV your video looks very nice, I just saw it...Your arm barely even moves and the ball explodes out of your hand. Great loose mechanics man, I enjoyed your video very much.

  • @TopTierLHP Thanks. I was sittin 88 on friday and hit 90 a few times.

  • My 80 mph fastball looks faster than that

  • @redsalute3 trust me...its not, it may seem like it from the angle but its not dude.

  • Truth be told I have to agree with cjdirector this isn't 87 no where close maybe some 80 but that is pushing it high 70's is better

  • @52293MRAmar okay well you are entitled to your opinion bud and I respect that. But truth be told, all of these pitches registered above 82 mph. As a matter of fact, the very first pitch registered at 87 mph, it just may not look like it from the angle. And I dont put these videos up to "show my skills", I put them up for people who are interested in watching a good left handed pitcher. And opinions are opinions, but College coaches already know what kind of pitches I throw and their velocities.

  • no way any of these are 87

  • get out of here kid...the first damn pitch registered at 87 mph. You obviously dont have an eye for velocity. I dont care what your opinion may be...and so what if you throw 84-86, only amateurs like you (who is obviously not getting scouted) care greatly about velocity. And so what if I max out now at 88...I'm getting a scholarship to play Division I Baseball...where are you going huh?

  • well spoken

  • WOW get owned lol, and your right velocity is the most overrated statistic in pitching...

  • I have a question. Why is your cutter's velocity so different from your fastball? My Cutter is the same speed as my fastball so the hitter needs to think about the ball moving in two different directions.Mariano Rivera throws his cutter the same speed as he threw his fastball a long time ago.Just let it roll of the side of your fingers.

  • i agree with cole roark.

    :P

  • awesome pitching :)

  • good mechanics, but try staying back a little and your follow through is a little bit rough. you can gain a couple Mph on your fastball. Im a sophmore pitcher, left-handed as well im about 85-88mph 5"11 170

  • great video do u have any suggestions for workouts to increase velocity?

  • medicine ball, and tubing exercises

    those are really good exercises

  • how do you go from throwing 79-82 as a soph, to reaching upper 80s less than a year later... while your only growth was putting on 6 pounds???? I was hitting 82-83 my sophomore year, 1 inch and 15 pounds later, I am at 84-85...

  • well i was very fortunate to go through a velocity spike about 8 months ago and than another velocity spike about a month ago. I also train intensely 5 days a week with bands, weights, explosive movements, etc. Im telling u man u gotta be motivated and willing to put in the work to get the results you want...

  • yeah, I lift 3 days a week, do intense running everyday I don't lift... of course I do plenty of throwing. I do core work as well. I'm still waiting for my velo spike lol. Plus I have started working on flexibility for the last few weeks too. Do you do any flexibility workouts??? if so, tell me some of them please

  • well from where your velocity is at now, once you hit a velocity spike you will most likely be in the upper 80's. And sadly, I dont do flexibility workouts...but i might start doing some to get my arm back in shape from my rest that I've been on for about 5 weeks now.

  • its not all about throwing alot. give your arm a break

  • nice video. you should hit 90 by senior year if you keep training hard.

  • Why thank you. And yes thats a dream of mine, hopefully one day i can hit 90!

  • your arm speed sucks dude more like 60 mph gimme a break

  • Wow your a fucking tool, why dont you just get off of youtube...

  • nice pitching dude! im 15 and i can pitch 69-73 i know its not that fast but i have good breaking pitches that strike guys out all the timer. accuracy is most important, keep on pitchin!

  • Yep, velocity may be good when your "showing off" your skillz but when it comes down to it, accuracy and mixing speeds will ultimately get guys out. Im in one of the hardest conferences in Illinois for my high school team and whenever i have to pitch against a good team the only thing that i strike them out on is my forkball (my best pitch). Hell their batting coach probably throws 95 to them in the cage so my fastball is a joke for them lol.

  • lol well good luck dude!

  • Haha, you could be a real TopTier Lefty with some more height, I can see the potential already.

  • lol yeah it sucks cuz i was considered the "tall kid" in like 8th grade cuz i growth spurted so early. I've been 5'11" for about 2 years and i cant get any taller!

  • Haha yea, I hope the same doesn't happen to me, at least I am 6'1'' in grade 9 but still wanna be taller yet xD.

  • Dude how do you hit mid 80's? It doesnt seem like ur using ur legs much

  • eh strong upper body does the trick for me, quick arm, good follow through, scapular loading (upper back flexing), and good hip rotation. But your right, i gotta start incorporating my legs a little more in my delivery but this is what i got so far. heh

  • im not discriminating u because of ur size. ur only a little smaller than i am. ur gonna get hurt if u think a quick arm is gonna be able to do it for you for a long period of time. but whatever. and im the one that thinks i kno everything? haha whose the one calling me a dumbass and trying to tlk to me like im a little kid? exactly.

  • lol ur sucha loser cole roark...

  • lol how?

  • y would u post them? ur not good enough for anyone to watch it for tips anyway. wat exactly works for you that u dont have to push off?

  • what works for me is upper body rotation, quick arm, and scapular loading, which is why ur dumbass should watch the video closer. people like u think they know everything, dont discriminate me cuz of my size by telling me that i have to push off of the mound cuz im never gunna take your fucking tips. Now stop commenting u fool, get a life and stop wasting your time...ull thank me

  • The first couple pitches could easily pass as 80+. It like 65 at 0:48 because that's his forkball..

  • ur right. u dont have to be gigantic to throw hard. but u have to use ur whole body to throw it when ur small. ur throwing with ur arm and not pushing off with ur back leg. besides ur a little punk. i kno im twice the pitcher u are. i dont have to waste my time making youtube videos of myself. i want to see one of ur evaluation sheets. and ill show u some of mine.

  • i dont "make" these videos boy, i just posted them. And i dont care about ur eval sheets i was just making a point. And yes i understand ur point about pushing off were all pitchers here, but one thing that works for someone may not work for others. I kno my mechanics have much flaws but info on youtube are just tips. The shit i tell people may or may not be useful cuz im just used to me and how i work. So unless ur a pro, former pro, or one of the top pitchers in the state, there all tips.

  • ur not even close to 80. u still arent pushing off with ur back leg and ur still to little to throw it all arm.

  • ...u r one of the biggest idiots i have ever encountered on youtube. what makes u say that its not even close to 80, because i would rilly appreciate your dumbass excuse. I have been clocked mulitple times kid, and have evaluation sheets that can back me up. And how little is too little becuz apparently u think it takes a 6'4" 260lb man to throw 82-87. I shouldnt even be arguing about this shit with some youtube loser, why dont u stick to the baseball video games bud...

  • lmao more like 65

  • lmao you have no clue retard...

  • Why do you keep grabbing your crotch do you have some type of STD (STI)?

  • lol fuck off luke or roary

  • i wanted to play little league when i was little... i really should've since i love baseball but too late now... im 22

  • your cutter should be about 7-10 mph faster than you say it is

cutter should have fastball speed and a little movement

  • a cutter should be about 2-3 mphs slower than a fastball not the same speed as a fastball

  • well you should try to throw the cutter at the same speed with only two or so inches of break which in turn will cause it to be two or three mph slower but try to throw it as hard as a fastball

  • so is external rotation helpful or bad?

  • External Rotation helps me stay back and accelerate my arm alot harder, so yes, to me external rotation is good.
