I thin Bulletstorm is a fun game. You're not really supposed to think about it, just have fun. It's not supposed to be Shakespeare and never claims to be. The game is a bit dumb, but it's not stupid either, it just doesn't care really and that's fine. As long as it is fun. Realism is good in games, but when a game claims realism and does nothing of the sort, then you have a problem. Honestly, I am tired of "Call of Battlefield Honor" and want something more than a a military shooter this year.

@JamesSCassidy Whatever happened to the old ideas? We had great ideas for video games in the past, but now everyone just wants one thing: "Realistic military shooters." I miss games like break this mode. Kingdom Hearts, Sly Cooper, Breakdown, Overlord. It doesn't need to be about military and wars to be a fun game. There are too many already. I miss the old games where you get to be that Super-hero type guy. Yeah it's cliche, but it's still fun.

I don't think realism in itself is a bad thing. It's when EVERYONE is making "realistic" shooters and no one is pushing the envelope for fear of failure that it gets frustrating and infuriating.

Realism sucks. Why would you want realism in a game like doom or bulletstorm or, god forbid quake? To me that is not the formula of a winning game. Realism is restrictive on creativity. I hope the "all good games have to be realistic" crux will go away soon. It's dragging the industry down, and anyone who says differently is either kidding themselves or just plain stupid.

Its also quite fun to replace everyday words with 'fuck'. Usually verbs.

I honestly like where FPS games have gone but I do agree that the older stuff had a simple greatness about them that todays FPS games do not, and yes I am a fan of Gears and Battlefield etc. BUT I grew up on Serious Sam, Duke Nukem (haven't played the new one), as well as Doom and I'd love to see these titles come back in all their insane frantic glory, no looking down sights or HAVING to duck behind cover just crazy ass weapons that don't require upgrades cuz they're already in-fucking-sane
