Wow .I Indore my first shot last week wasn't bad i never been scared of needles growing up.Do to my lil sister being scared and would scream murder if we had one so i would go first be brave so she wouldn't freak out.But now i am face with this I psych my self up saying i can do this .But once i seen that needle I know i was going to have a problem .I could not even do it in the practice run with out jumping .But when it was all said and done my younger sister was the one to give me the shot.
@BlockStar10 I even jumped watching this video. And yes the younger sister the very one that was scared to get needles her self all these years. How ironic
you say for people who don't like needles not to watch it, but I thought it was a good thing for me who gets tears in my eyes start shaking and forgetting to breath when I even think about getting a needle
(I don't know about the blood thing, because I'm not scared of blood but anyway)
seeing you reacting so calmly and letting us know that even you were scared at first let me watch it without that effect
@failsformadpro Well, if you have to do them yourself, that is the WORST of the worst lol. It's just your nerves, trust me... When I first started out I would put ice on the place where I was going to inject myself, but now I have become used to it and I don't do that any longer. But trust me it really helps. Now if your mate or a friend is giving it to you, then it wont be that bad at all. If you need any other tips or help, just ask. I am here to help! =]
I too took Avonex in my arm, but I was too chicken to give it to myself. I'm on Tysabri now. You are a strong woman :-) Hope the side effects don't make you too sick. Take care :-)
#TeamAvonex! My shot night is on Saturday and I swear it's like a ritual, LOL.
I noticed that when I shoot my arms, I always tend to have that quick stream of blood once I remove the needle. I found that having another gauze ready - and placing it immediately on the injection spot, accompanied by a little massage, stops the flow.
@LifesMistress85 Ok, I will have to try that! But I have never had that much blood, that was gross lol (but blood doesnt bother me) Do you have any side effects? How long have you been taking it?
@m0renachula704 I've been taking Avonex for 3 years now. With only 2 break periods. My side effects are very subtle at this point, I just have the chills and shortness of breath, temporarily. I usually take my shot around bedtime and after an Advil PM - so anything else that happens, I'm not aware of, lol.
omg, thats a long needle!!! omg...ouch! i've had 6 kids,so needles were a big part of my life for a minit! i wish u didnt have to go through that :( i'm so glad ur still maken it! not very many people can do it and still laugh or smile! u are an awesome woman!
@mommyof6tx I have 5, so yes girl, some one is always getting a shot or something LOL.. The cold pack really helps, I dont feel the needle really. Which is great!
