  • nightflyyer is awsome ive been watching your vids for a long time lol

  • OMG is James Bond!

  • thanks! i just got my dx6i today and hope that theres no problems!

  • You sir are a amazing pilot, Dave have you ever flown real helicopters?

  • Hobby king has them for 1 buck each

  • I submitted the videos about my dynamic stabilizers (and other helicopter "myths") to Mythbusters,

it is too late for me to make money on them but I'd still like to know if they work.

  • i dnt wanna snd liek a dick or nthng but i can almost garantee that those arnt 35mph winds...

  • wow i never knew this, mine a 2008 model luckily no date code

  • just bought the blade 400 RTF, charged the battery and plugged into the helo to test if all electronics are working.

the engine started up and before I could reset everything now have a small amount of repare; what I did notice (now) is that the throttle stick is spring loaded and is at 1/2 throttle (out of the box) so now I have to change that some how.

all this shows that while the helo maybe test flown at factory the radio is NOT

  • Great flying!

  • could i use the stock servos from the park zone t-28 trojan with the AR6200 receiver that comes with the dx6i.? please help because i want to convert the plane to 2.4ghz and i dont want to splash out on servos (as i dont have the money... im only 14 here on pocket money) .plz help me

  • well good pilot!!!!

  • Good info but the music playing over the video is really annoying. Stop doing that people

  • I agree 100%. Informative video, but the music playing throughout is so annoying and out of place.

  • Seems like a salesmen to me. I am guessing he gets payed to make these videos. or sponsored. Kinda like a used car salesmen I thought.

  • Actually no. He just gets the items for free mostlikley. But watch other vids. He will speak his mind. If he hates it he will say!

  • no he gets discount for mentioning the hobby stores

he is a very enthusiastic rc pilot and crazy over the newest and coolest rc air craft,

if he likes sommit its because in his pro rc experiance means its worth it and well made, if its junk he will say, a dead honest and respectable guy for the rc enthusiasts alike :)

ive learned alot from dave over the few years of videos :D

  • the throttle trim on my DX6I is broken...it can trim the throttle down, but not back up. i have the sub trims set up so that it idles perfectly as well as the throttle cut switch is working. is this a big problem ?what do i do?

  • It is basically a really really crap design, spektrum failed in that respect, my dad just glues them and reinforces it with glass fibre

  • For one i didn't like the flying you flew over spectators as i can see which is a big NO NO what if that wind had caught you just right and slammed that heli into those people.

  • Wahhh. they were behind a car.

  • Daves as seriously good rc pilot

he has test flown and even been the designer of some popular and interesting rc models including the invention of the NOTAR helis by kyosho

he flys in windy conditions on most of his videos so i think he would know his limits or capabilitys

the dude has many years in experience in rc which in my book more than qualifys him to asses what is dangerous and what isnt.

now for a noob flying, yes that would be a big no! no!

  • Are you telling me that it is ok at a AMA event to fly your models over the spectators? I think not i imagine you would get your membership revoked and probably punted off the field by all the other pilots.

It is NEVER safe to fly over people PERIOD and this guy of all people if you say he has years of experience he should know it is never safe to fly over people no EXCUSES.

What if you have a radio failure can you recover from that. I can show you what happens to an arm when a radio fails.

  • no what im saying is he know his stuff

he was flying models way back when i was in nappies, god he propably flew most of the vintage rc craft back in the day

for one this is not at a AMA event and i know the flying rules, ive been flying rc for the best part of 20 years,

what im saying is in this situation he knows his limits and whats safe to do

the spectators are behind a car and the heli didnt fly directly over if you look closer, cont.....

  • obviously at an event there has to be strict guidlines to follow as the models that are flown are potentialy lethal in the wrong hands, im not trying to justify flying over a spectator, i know this is pretty dangerous obviously, he was near but not a threat in my books, he was still inline with the road

if you track the path of the heli you will see its not directly over,

dave is the best pilot ive seen he isnt a dangerous pilot, nuff said and any of his fans will tell ya

  • your a great pilot

  • What should I do if I purchased it online from overseas?

I'm in Australia but local distributor is refusing to repair it asking me to send it back to where I purchased from.

I have problem with my elevator - in clean mem spot, elevator is not centered (in monitor) when both sticks are at neutral position. And the maximum it range it would travel when I push up the stick, is 1st colum from centre (even after I use trim)

    Please I need some advice.

    Thank you.

  • I would email your situation to Horizonhobby(.)com. They have been really taking care of people better than could be expected, and I am sure they will take care of you or point you in the right direction. Good luck.

  • WOW. Good for you. Great news.

  • Horizon is a great company they fixed my transmitter . and sent me a new complete blade 400 so i got 2 dx6i and 2 blade 400s very happy with horizon

  • Hey that is great news.

  • * some rc hogs micro piece of crap) But I feel comfortable, your videos are very informative. Thanks again for all your hard work and effort you've put into your videos. Happy Flying :)

    Bryce w

  • Right. Thanks and good luck.

  • Ye, I finally got my hands on a fresh batch of them, but my first flight was TERRIBLE! I think I'm going to have to look for an instructor. Unfortunately not many people fly up here.

  • Damn. All the local Hobby shops up in Vancouver B.C are currently on backorder. I just received my Exceed Rc J3 Piper Cub, and the transmitter and receiver are a piece of (You can fill it in). Seriously, if you don't have the transmitter on, but the plane, the servos and motor will go crazy because of some signal on the same channel. Anyways, Can't wait for the DX6i to come back in stock. Enjoy yours :). Btw, thanks for all your videos. I haven't flown a plane since I was like 8 (And that was -

  • Thanks kindly and hope you get your radio soon.

  • Hey Dave, did you ever send yours in?

  • No sir, as It has no date code and is ok.

  • Iam a nobb in Model RC Fly!!!!

  • How can you fly so super good?

  • Years of flying and crashing will make a person good. LOL Thanks.

  • I occasionally wish I had sprung for the DX7 instead of the DX6i,

that extra channel would be handy for retracts,

    or aerial photography.

Also the DX7 has a bit more functionality,

the DX6 only comes preprogrammed with 2 different swash types, so if you get something else (other than 120*eccpm or 90*mechanical mixing) then you have to do some mix programming to get it to work right.

  • Its a great radio. Tips away in a PM. Thanks.

  • Did you ever think of putting orange and maybe a neon green float on the other side for orientation? or does this just get confusing? =)

  • Night lights, those would be needed to fly, but in this case, I didnt. I have thought about it, but never really decided to do it. They make it pretty easy to see as is, but I might someday to see.

  • Dave, Thanks very much for the tip on floats, And could you please send me a copy of your ninetips ,thanks much Fred

  • Your welcome. Tips away in a PM. Good luck

  • Spektrums are my faves for inexpensive, but I like Hitec, Futaba and JR. But most of those are $1000 and way more expensive. Best these days are the 2.4 ghz ones. Good luck.

  • Wow awesome hobby

  • Thanks kindly.

  • lol is there anything you can't or have trouble flying in heavy wind or just plain flying heheh you're the best

  • Thanks. I have a lot of trouble with kites. Lol.

  • That is some excellent flying for 35 MPH wind gusts. My hats off to you

  • Thanks very kindly.

  • hahahahaha! there she is again! lol

  • So is that like a Gyro?

  • Sorta for the front end, but not the tail.

  • Dave where did you get your pontoons,I have been looking all over but can not find any lite ones for electrics, thanks fred

  • See my video "Stealth Helicopters, you cant fly them if you cant see them" . I tell all about them in it. good luck.

  • Hi again Dave, very much appreciated on just how fast u replied back to me, but i forgot to ask for your nine heli tips!, but while im here one more question, after pricing the blade 400 and t rex it seems the blue ray 450 premium edition is about a full 150$ cheaper! should i be defiantly leaning towards purchasing the blue ray? whats your opinion?

  • Tips away in a PM. I like my Blue ray, but again, these are not beginner helis. Thanks.

  • g'day dave from australia, luv the vids and the effort and time you put in making them (dont forget jeff), could u tell me what the the trim button on 2 channels like a picoo z does, do the left right control and trim all work off rotor speed? and im about to purchase the blade 400 but iv noticed from some videos that the t rex is a much more agile 3d heli whats your opinion?

  • Thank you sir. The trim buttons (sometimes have to be pushed 20 times in the opposite direction of the slide only changes tail rotor speed for yawing (spinning). There is no cyclic head steering, on 2 channels helis. I will have another Blade 400 video up this afternoon. I like the TREX and Blue Ray 450 over my Blade 400. They are made by the same company.

    Good luck.

  • I just want to add that I had the POT problem on my DX5e and I had it sent for ervice and received a replacement, so also check your DX5e.

  • Hi

You are a great ambassador for this hobby pitty my local club isnt.

Keep up the good work I have just bough a blade 400 i rely on your advice totally.

    G in UK

  • Thanks very kindly. I appreciate that. Good luck.

  • Good point., Thanks.

  • Nice control! of the blade 400 in 35mph winds.

  • Thanks kindly sir.

  • dave just curious, where do u leave?seems to me that every video that i seen so far is very windy.. thanks again arnel

  • The Tundra, in Iowa, USA. Always windy.

  • Thanks a lot Dave. Great !!!!

  • Thank you kindly.

  • Wow. Very windy. Nice flying as always. Thanks for the tip on the recall too. Had not heard about it.

  • Thanks very kindly. I appreciate that.

  • huh huh, he said Orange Pontoons....

Oh yea, I need my stuff painted orange so i can see it too...DOH!

Dave, you are a tremendous pilot. To handle that kind of wind with a light B400... You are like those Coast Guard pilots flying into hurricanes to collect data... All balls and links! ha ha!

Can' wait to see a better day when you can really test those stabilizers and keep your hat on :)

    5 stars always!

  • Haha. Well helis aren't big in the sky and hard to see with no wings....kinda like flying an erector set. You call, I fly. LOL Thanks for the kind words.

  • Nice flying! I'd never try to fly anything in 35 mph winds unless it was huge!

Can you please explain a little more how the dynamic stabilizers work or show a close up view? Thanks.

  • Dave said he'd do that in an upcoming video,

but he's a busy guy. I will PM you with one of my videos that may help.

  • How come your not subscribed to me? The next video will be up this afternoon. Hope you like it. Dave

  • You know what,

    I thought I had...lol

  • MY 2nd Dynamic Stabilizer video is uploading now. Please help me with the comments by checking it once in a while. I hope you like it. I'm sure the next video is going to cause a stir. I also like the way they look on mine. :-)

  • Stay tuned for my next video and Ill explain it. I flew again today., Thanks kindly,.

  • HA! Incredible flying. Dave, you're a nut! 4:30 was a real pucker-factor moment.

  • Ha ha. Your right. a gust of wind grabs it like a Frisbee, and away we go..

  • That was awesome flying. A real expert at work!

  • I really appreciate that. Thank you.,

  • That one great heli piloting sir. i wouldnt dare to even hover in that kind of wind. looks like that thing really works or is it because the man behind the tx. lol.

  • It is difficult. Just like trying to fly a Frisbee. I takes nothing to throw the heli around. Wait till you see todays flight video, coming soon.

  • EL-vi-RA, mmmdadammmdadamama

  • LOL

  • sweet! looks fun! :D

  • Thank you.

  • "Still, a little... flat... hmm..."

    Lolz!

  • LOL

  • Thanks Dave!

I appreciate your input and assistance.

I should have some new video (soon...ish) of these myself as well.

  • I flew it again today, and it was great. Had a gyro fail, but still flew it.. Vid coming soon.

  • good info! i love the new NightFlyer logo at the end.

  • Thanks very kindly.

  • Haha, nice video Dave. Handy knowing about the recall, thanks. That might be an explanation as to why my DX6i has been on back order for a month and a half now.

    Stabilizers worked beautifully.

  • Thanks. You have a point about backorder, I bet too., Stabs were great.

  • Anything less than gale force winds and your ready to fly! I'm just not that brave yet!! ;-)

  • Well the wind never stops, so if I want to fly, I have to really learn the winds. Thanks,

  • heli pilots will go crazy for those and they would even be good for full sized helicopters. you should mate it where the stabilizers will swivel freely or hook it up to a servo so if you are hovering they are down and when you move forward they tilt to still create lift.

  • Thanks. I flew it again today with great success. They do swing freely now, and extra servos would be a problem all in itself. They are great.

  • i got the same thing but i didn't have a date code and the stick pot works fine. guess i got lucky cause i use my dx6i at least once a day

  • Great

  • Ya recently picked up a DX6i for 170$ and I received one with 809e. The guy that sold them said they weren't the ones on recall. For sending me a defective item he is sending me a DX7 for 60$ more. I have heard people with no date code still sending there's in!

  • If no date code, they might just check it and send it back, so if it checks out, leave it.

  • Hey Dave thanks for the info on the product recall. One thing on gusty days it might be better to just redub the sound indoors as to make it easier one the ears hehe. great vid though.

  • Haha,. I wanted you to know it was really windy. I did try to turn most of the wind noise down...but alas, not too good.

  • Great video Dave and i have been seeing that recall for the DX6I every where online but great job for telling all your subscribers about it as i have one but mine is ok i think LOL,oh and i like the new banner at the end for nightflyyer too,5*

  • Thanks kindly for your comments. Glad yours is ok.

  • You are very brave Dave to fly in winds of that speed and NOT crash, very smart to land when your hat blows off.

  • LOL. THanks kindly.

  • Im glad that i made the jump and went with a DX7.. it is the best investment i have made in rc.

  • Wow I checked mine, i have one of the numbers u said, what do i do !

  • You send it in, go to horizons website and type in "spektrum recall" and print it up.

  • send it in to horizon, they will replace it for you.

  • You can send it back to horizone hobby or if you got it from your local hobby store they will do it for you mate, well if mine was faulty my hobby store said they would so check with yours to see what they say as i would, good luck

  • Send it back as soon as possible.

  • First comment on another great video by Nightflyer

  • Thanks kindly.
