Pretty good performance for this budget round, I'm going to have to get a couple boxes of these as SHTF rounds since they are so cheap at the wally world. One question though, did you have any feeding problems? In my SW9VE, I have had trouble feeding the FMJ UMC loads in the past. Oh, and btw, I saw in one of your comments on another video you're from Louisiana. Glad to see my fellow statesman practicing their second amendment rights! Anyways, great vids, keep 'em coming.
To anyone who can answer: what role does the weight of the bullet play in the expansion of a JHP? Do lighter bullets expand more and heavier bullets expand less, or vice versa?
I carry this round and the reason is, im a firm believer that u should practice w ur carry load and practice often.W my old load being over a dollar a piece this was just not possible. And i have shot pretty much everything they make and yes some perform a little better but not so much better that im gonna put practice to the side for them. If u do ur part this round will do the job and do it well.
I use these in my backup mags. Not outstanding performers, but plenty cheap and reliable factory loads. Seems that this is Remington's equivalent to Winchester's White Box JHP's, which are pretty much just old-school Silvertips without the silver coating. Funny, these used to be considered "premium" ammo back in the day, and now they're just considered "practice" ammo. My local Wally World carries it ($15 for 50), but they're almost ALWAYS sold out. :-(
When you fired this round, did all of the shots expand reliably? Or were there some shots that did not expand reliably? Also, what was the diameter of the expanded HP? Did the jacket get separated from the lead core at all? In one of your previous comments, you stated that you would not carry this ammo as a primary load? is there a particular reason why?
@mikekazik1 All of the shots expanded reliably. I did not measure them for the exact size but we may add a ruler to future videos. In this test the cores stayed in the jackets. There would be nothing wrong with using this as a primary load, it is just that there are better designs out since this was top of the line. I have a bunch of these (since they are cheap) set aside for a SHTF situation.
@ElectricZombie I have a decent stock of these. Wal-Mart ammo that is better than ball for not much more money. Works for me. I don't carry it as a primary load, but its good volume backup stuff.

My results weren't as possitive, the hollow point caved in, but that is probably due to the medium I used.
