I haven't listened to my own LP for so long, since I can only play CD's now. I thought I remembered it well, but on rehearing it is so much more poignant, it's stunning.
Brilliant piece from 1956, a few months after his brother was killed in that auto wreck with Clifford Brown. Anybody know where it's been re-released?

無骨に感じられるタッチに、とても細やかな心情が潜んでいて、聞けば聞くほどに心に沁み込む演奏です。リンダ・ロン・シュタットやら、他の人の歌声も聞きましたが、これは突き抜けています。世間のごじゃごじゃ喧しい音の中で、水墨画のような静かで激しい表現方法は津軽三味線とコラボさせると凄みを増すのではないかと勝手に想像して感動しています。
