Real incident: Tipu Sultan after seeing britishers entering from the noth breach of the fort ran on the ramparts and fired bullets on the britishers. He brought many people down but realizing that the situation was out of control he made his way towards the zenana ( where his 80 womens lived "palace"). His intension was to kill all the womens in his zenana so that no english man can disrespect them. But soon the passage got packed with british soldiers and tipu started defending every gate!!
Contd.. As he defended every gate with his reliable soldiers, he reached upto the inner gate of fort that was the only way that connected the palace with the outer gate. At this point his intension was to get into the inner wall and close the door so that he can make his last stand after killing the british soldiers who has already got into the inner fort. But the killadar Mir Nadeem Closed the inner door of the gate and Tipu was left with no choice rather than to fight and die!
Contd.. Suddendly tipu complaint of pain in his left leg which has already recieved many cuts from the enemy. His slaves brought his palaqueen so that he can take some rest under it, while his soldiers were engagged in the fight. But beefore he could make to his palaqueen, he recieved a bullet shot on the right side of his chest. At one time even we (britishers) thought that he will be able to defend the gate but due to the bullet shots by the light infantory regiment...
Contd.. due to massive fire from both the sides of the gate (Water Gate: gate situated close to the inner fort gate) all of tipu's last loyal group of soldiers fell including tipu recieveing another shot on the upper right chest! The wounded tiger of mysore fell near his palaqueen where he asked for water to his slaves that were suppose to carry him to the safe place. But looking that no one was left alive on tipu's side, the slaves ran for thier lifes leaving dying tipu on his own.
