My cairn Gus did this to me all the time. lol I remember once laying on my side on the couch and a fur covered missile flew 20 feet across the room and landed his tongue right on my mouth before I had a chance to react....lol. RIP Gussy.

they were actually used for hunting smaller animals like rats etc. so I guess it is their instinct in them that makes them fast runners and also very good diggers :o)
