Your secondary turbo may not be at full spool upon opening the flapper. The 2nd turbo is spun prior to use, but the pressure created is held in, until 4500rpm. Check the exhaust flapper valve beween the turbos on the exhaust manifold for looseness. Stock pattern is 10-8-10. Basically the 2nd turbo is going too slow when the system releases the built up pressure.
I have a 1995 FD3S stock twin turbo, mine boosts about 8, then immediately 14 when the second turbo spools. My second turbo kicks in around 4,200 RPM at wide open throttle. Right now im having some troubly, im only boosting exactly 5psi, it wont go any higher....suggestions??
I agree. Twin Turbos can yield better results but all those vacuum lines just get in the way and make freeing horsepower seem like pulling teeth. Single turbo is the best way to get more power with less complications
hmm, im thinking massive boost leak a or problem with the boost controller opening or leaving open the wastegate. I have a first gen, so i dont know much about the third gen setup, but i do recall their computers did have some issues.
because if he is tuned for lets say 12 psi and you go past that your not getting enough fuel to the engine, hence running lean.. unless the tuner compisated for it and tuned it that way
nothing is wrong with the car..... this is the factory boost pattern with raised boost.

Its an autometer, prolly mechanical. So yea, its likely a piece, but if that is accurate the spikey is no good.

can you say running lean? if you dont have the proper mods and boosting that high, say bye bye engine
AnimeMaster2 4 years ago
Are you "ass-u-meing" he's running lean because of big boost?
