i seriously didn't notice that you had bells palsy until now...
also there's a website where you write an email to yourself and set the send date and they don't send it to your email address until then. it's futureme.org
I didn't even notice you had Bell's Palsy until you said something about it! lol I had had it about 17 years ago but it passed with me. It was bad though, I couldn't shut my left eye so it had to be taped closed and I had to wear an eye patch.
I actually had a gold weight installed in my eyelid to allow it to close. Until I was 20, I couldn't close my eye all the way. Still can't quite all the way :-)
@sivartis Wow, I never would have guessed. I always just thought you had an adoreably quirky smile. It's always been my favorite thing about looking at you. :)
Thank you for the very inspiring words! You sound so honest, just know that this video and all the other's you make do have an impact. Also I could not believe you had been teased as a kid, you have a beautiful face.
I'm 15 now XD Stuck in school and I hate it - But you have helped. I only have another 8 months of school so yesh, what you said makes sense. Thanks man, you're awesome <3 xxxxx
I can remember being 15 and all the emotions that you go through, and even though kids never seem to believe us, it truly does get better. This whole project is a truly amazing idea. Thank you for being a part of it.
Very good work Travis..... I'm almost 46 and at 13, tried to over dose on pills. I delt with the teasing in junior and senior high school and could tell no one. I really didn't come out until almost 25. At 25, you have a bit more emotional maturity than at 13 per say. More GLBT folks need to be there to help the younger people out there needing counsel and unconditional love and support . I am open to suggestions on how I can help in the Dallas area.
wow didnt even notice the bells palsy. I knew what it was so that wasnt the issue. I guess I just find you so funny that it never stood out. great videos man. keep them coming. and I will be voting and donating.
It would have helped so much to have had something like this growing up in SC in the 80s. Sad to see how much it's still needed. Thanks for posting this.

honestly, i just thought your expressions were just... your facial expressions. i didn't really notice anything weird about it, if that's any comfort... great video :)
I had no idea you had Bells Palsy. I actually had to go look it up to see what it is. But I think it just gives you more character, and I love your smile.
Good luck raising money for RNGG! I'll definitely watch when new stuff comes out.
Now I want to write one of these. Except I'm 17, so it wouldn't really make much sense. Still, sometimes I feel like the me from six months ago could have benefited from a letter, which just goes to show what this year's been like.
Write a letter to your future self! Like, on paper. Write "Do not open until 2025". I just found the one I wrote in High School and it was hysterically inaccurate about predicting my future.
I reeeally think that you wouldn't be this cool, loving, caring, funny, supportive, talented guy if you were not gay and if you didn't have bell's Palsy. I didn't noticed untin I read on the coments. But doesn't matter. I love you the way you are. That's what makes us unique: dificulties we have and get over, make us stronger and better people. I love your shows, since 2HGITS. Hope I could do more for you from Brazil. I hope u get rich and famous on TV shows all over!
Thank you so much Travis! This is why the internet is so great, because there are people like you and Dan Savage who are willing to use it to make the world a better place. This video made my day. Thanks for being you and just being awesome.
Thank you for this video, Travis. It really doe get better, though sequels ARE hard to deal with. Don't worry, it will get better, sooner or later. ^^
about ones needs and others' desires, i have hard time struggling with that. I'm going through a rough spot at school, and maybe I'll drop out for now. But that's not what my parents want, and it makes me cry to think i'm letting them down. thank you for saying what you said, even if you said it to yourself, it's very useful to us to hear it. ^^
If you're talking about college, I dropped out, too, and have never felt like it was a bad idea. It does depend on what you want to do with your life, though. Some careers obviously require more school :-)
I did cry when I decided to leave, though. Exact same feelings, like I was disappointing my parents. They totally got over it.
This was a really special video, Travis. If you ever, EVER in the future wonder if you've made a positive difference in your career or in your life, come back here and re-read all the comments. Just beautiful.
I'm so glad to count myself as one of your friends, and even more glad to count you as one of mine. Just a fantastic job, all around.
First off, Thank you! It's so good to see youtubers like you participating in Savage's project. I think you are amazing!
I find it interesting, my roommate and I started watching your stuff with RNGG, and to be honest, I never notices your Bell's Palsy. I didn't notice until my roommate mentioned it, and I was in complete shock, cause I'd never noticed. But that just goes to show that it doesn't matter.
This video was so moving. Its inspired me to create a similar video to my younger self. Hopefully it helps someone out, and I'm sure it will be a cathartic experience for me. Thanks for sharing such personal feelings with us - you rock Travis :)
Why didn't you tell yourself about your amazing boyfriend? :D And you're maybe not rich money-wise, but you are rich fanbase-wise! Your fans are real supporters (the famous actors only have fans who are fan of a romantic version of those actors) and I'm proud to count myself as one of your fans :)
Travis, you made me cry. :,) Thank you so much for making this, really. I only wish I’d have heard this about five years ago. This is exactly the thing struggling teens need to hear. I’m sure it’s not easy opening your life up like that but I truly think it will do so much good.
Your honesty is really inspiring, Travis! I love you for being able to just talk at length about deeply personal topics to an audience like this. Thanks for being awesome!!
I'd tell you that I agree entirely with all that you've said (except I thought Transformers 2 kicked ass) but I think we both know that in today's society understanding and tolerance are the norm, and the minority that don't aren't worth bothering with, so it's just preaching to the converted really.
I never had an issue when i was 15, I never had an issue ever really, Now when I became a furry, thats when I had issues. But not from my family, cause they don't know either of them, me being gay or a furry, though I think my mom suspects the gay thing. Oh well, still no issues.
Aw, Trav, this made me cry. And then the Transformers part made me laugh. I think what Dan Savage is doing is so great, and I'm glad you decided to be a part of it. You're brave to talk about all those insecurities. I'm 40 years old (well outside your main demographic) and I still have that awkward, insecure, confused 15-year-old inside of me. I've said it before, and I'll say it again - it makes me happy to know you're in the world. Keep being you, and thanks.
I've been feeling kinda down lately and you just reminded me that I have to believe that things do get better. I will write myself a letter when i'm 59 to tell myself now that it get's better.
Also I think it great that you spoke so candidly about your Bells Palsy. I noticed it, but never really dared to ask about it. Cause, well, you don't know me, so a p.m. seemed inappropriate and asking about it in the comments seemed uncomfortable. I say good on you, you're a good man.
