@mayfly127 You shouldn't say that. When he recorded this video he didn't know the moeller technique. Now he have learnt it but all those "Advice givers" don't know that. This vid was record 3 years ago so advices are useless for this video... But advices are not bad and I'm sure that Cobus would agree with me on that :)

hey, my floor time has a good note but it rings too much, how can i dampen it......i use stock head but i am getting REMO Ebony Pinstripes, if that doesnt work with Evans EMAD rings work??

buy dampeners, like evans makes little dampening pads that velcro onto your heads and really stop overtone. Oh and i recomend getting heads with built in dampening rings in it like the EMADs. They work great for me

you use the 2, uh of 2, e of 3, 4 pattern on the snare in like every song.. It gets a little repetitive. But everyone has their pattern and that is probably the most common one other than 2 and 4. But I must say your skill level is unbelievable. amazing.

Cymbals are manufactured like cookies, and some batches just aren't as crisp as clear as others. I have a few A Customs,the 16" Crash is brilliant, but my eighteen is a bit lack-luster. My father bought them for me, so I didn't get to try them out first. Remember, cookies.

I have a PST5 Crash myself and in real it's far, far away from this really cool sound that cobus has.

actually, my PST 5's sounds really good live aswell. the ride is a bit messy but the hats and crash sound great, especially considering the price. i have heard a few that sounded really cheap though.. definitely try a cymbal out before buying it.

I now use a 16" MEINL Byzance. But i have a sabian XS20 as well xD

I just think the PST5 is not enough of that "crash" sound if you understand.

I excuse if it looks like i tried to mess up your sound (sorry for my bad english) you are an really amazing drummer and i love your kit, but i prefer other kinds of cymbals^^

haha no problem man, i totally ge what you're saying. i'm actually an avid Sabian fan.. love their sound! the PST 5's sound great to me but they are a bit thick though, i'm migrating way more to a fusion type sound, as opposed to hard rock.
